until a few days ago, i had a very large, very blue pickup truck. her name was blue rhonda latruck. yes, that is a reference to a character in rita mae brown's book southern discomfort. awesome book.

anyway, it was a great truck. made me feel so butch. but i spent more on gas than i did on food. in fact, nearly twice as much as i spent on food. it was killing me.

so, on impulse, i traded it. funny thing is that it turned out to be a guy i used to work with. we called him shrek behind his back. swear to god, if he was green he'd be a dead ringer. he showed up with a toyota camry in pretty good shape so we did the deal. it gets awesome gas mileage. i went out and bought myself a steak yesterday to celebrate.

the camry is brown. when the neice and nephew heard i got the car from shrek, they promptly named it donkey.

i drive donkey. life is funny.

on another note, my TWO YEAR OLD neice stuck a pinecone on a stick a couple of days ago and told us it was her scepter. she then proceeded to tell us she made it out of a cylinder and a pinecone. did i mention that she is TWO? doctors estimate that she is going to be six foot four when she grows up. i'm thinking we've got a genuine amazon princess on our hands and someday she'll run the world.

i'm practicing genuflecting now.
Shut up and be happy.

Is that little vignette for real or the beginning of a new story?

I loooooove Donkey, "This is going to be so much fun, we can stay up late swapping manly stories and in the morning.....I'm makin' waffles!" :ROTFL:

Can you throw in a good word for me with the world's future ruler? Maybe the Mayan's had it correct with the world ending in 2012 and from the crumbling ashes of humanity a new super race of Amazonians rises with your niece as their queen!

PS . I just goooogled Dayton, Nevada, it may be a social wasteland, but it's sooooo pretty.
(unless of course, the 4 photos I saw were the 4 prettiest spots there :laughing2: )

okay dogz. you're in. my neice says that yes, she is the amazon princess and she very much wants to be in charge.

while i am much more accustomed to wild, green landscapes, there are definitely some beautiful things and places in nevada. parts of dayton are quite lovely.

it's still a social wasteland. which is really just my whiny way of saying no one likes me here. (insert big sloppy raspberry) i don't much like them either so it evens out.

besides, if i had more friends, i wouldn't write nearly as much as i do. i'm sure i know where your priorities lie. that's okay. it works for me too.

Re: Donkey and the Amazon Niece

Postby Scotti » Tue Mar 03, 2009 2:42 am

My Niece is 4, she is currently a Huge Xena fan. Everyday she says" Bobbi(me) do you know why I want to watch Xena?" and I reply "Why Riley?". Her standard sing song answer is. "Xena! Warrior Princess, her best friend Gabrielle, with Xena's magic Frisbee the CHAKRAM! And the Goofus Joxer!!.. Oh and she says this a lot as well. "I have a Chakram and I know how to use it" That's quoting Meg from the "Key to the Kingdom" episode. Maybe we should set up a play date Squirrel. My Warrior Princess with your Amazon Queen. Could lead to all kinds of future Amazonians!! All hail the New Order! Hey! Maybe Ali Vali will let us move to her Island (Amazonia) I think we both might have a better Social Life there.

Take Care, My best to Donkey and Her Majesty.

you have an excellent point about where i live. i should count my blessings.

as for the play date, i'm all for it! as long as it isn't at a chucky cheese. that place is a little too psychotic for me. and i should mention that those ball pits are not as fun as one would think. they pull your hair! and kids lose disturbing things in there. promise me no ball pits and i'm good.

especially if there's a whack-a-mole.

I love Whack-a-mole. Riley can practice her war cry while we teach her how to play. Your Niece can hold court over the ball pit. Maybe teach some of the little psycho monsters, why someone made millions of dollars inventing tissue and anti-bacterial sanitizer. I once came out of the ball-pit with a piece of cheese pizza stuck to my arse. Of course I didn't realize it until after my Niece had a really good belly laugh and called me Pizza-bum the rest of the day. It was worth it to hear that fantastic laugh. Did I mention that the rope bridge hurts really badly when you get pushed over the side by too many little hands to be able to actually pin point the culprit. (the rotten, sneaky little a**wipes) umm, wait my spell check has a clitch. I know I just typed angels. Really I did!! Best thing about being an auntie, is you get to be their favorite person in the whole world, and after you have completely exhausted them into grumpy tantrums, you get to give them BACK!!.

Currently I live on the Coast of California, but I grew up in the Desert of Arizona, well it wasn't like the desert, desert. I mean it had houses and pools and even the Colorado River. There was even a Mickey D's. But man was it HOT! Great Mexican food made up for everything else tho.

Take Care

Hey Badsquirrel. I'm finding this forum thing incredibly intimidating. It's like seeing a woman across the room that you really want to meet, but she's constantly surrounded by her group of friends. :blushing: So, I'm wondering if your rule about no one-on-one emails with fans is still set in stone? Sometimes rules like that are flexible depending on what's going on at the time, so I hope you don't mind me asking.

I've read two of your stories: first, Dark Side and then Shine. Like most of your readers, once I started reading I couldn't stop until the end. I'm pretty much in awe of how you do that. I'm so curious about the process.

I completely fell for Jordan and I have lots of questions about her. I liked Sarah a lot too, but her I understood. And I'm still thinking about Shine. I am a little disturbed by the fact that I like most of your characters far more than I like most real people I know. That can't be good. I'm looking forward to reading the other two stories you have posted here but I'm trying to pace myself...like all good things, getting there is half the fun.

QMBG,

You really are too humble you do realize that don't you? :ROTFL:

I happen to think you are very good at being THE QMBG, you need to stop being so shy and realize just how great you are... :not worthy: :not worthy: :not worthy:

okay...let me take my public's comments in order...

courtney...i am working on a multi-part story with squirrel even as we speak...it will be great, stupendous, fantastic, spellbinding, captivating, spectacular...uuhhhmmm...get the picture...and it will all be because of me...GRIN...it will be worth the wait...squirrel is working her nuts...i mean pen...ferociously...she is hardly taking in any sustenance...she barely takes liquid so as not to take time away from her writing...she is chained to her muse...and to her desk...because i require that she work hard so i can hardly work...so that being said...just sit back and wait courtney...cause you can't do anything else...nah nah nah nah...

irish...you do know the QMBG...she is great...thanks for noticing and for saying...and i am very humble so your praise makes me blush...now you've been around this site long enough to know that i am the power behind the squirrel...without me she cannot put two words together...now we all know she had 3 number ones before i showed up...but does that prove anything...no...i say no...because what happened next...she got a 4th number one...and that only happened because the great QMBG decided to grace her with her person...but enough about squirrel...lets talk about me...SMIRK...

i will be putting the lash to her back soon...so be prepared for a 5th number one...ladies don't make me out to be a liar...you must tell all your friends to read this story when it's posted...if not for squirrel...do it for me...i spend minutes agonizing over her work...give me the desire to continue...

all hail the QMBG...
