Yay! It's the Weather Network thread!! I'm from Canada and if there's one thing we love more than hockey, it's groaning about...I mean discussing the weather!! I'm less than an hour from the Windsor/Detroit border and it's a crisp, lovely 56 degrees.

I vaguely remember the moon walk - I was a wee lass at the time. Anyway, I love this forum and hope more people join in on the fun.

ahahahha....yeah....well you can always start a conversation talking about weather! lol
Its a nice.....78 degrees here :D not too bad...if youre in the shade.

Hey laurel...I'm yuri *wave* Hopefully people will join in more...I mean....we can't keep talking about weather forever...I think. Although technically the weather changes everyday so the amount of talking we can do will never end...but that's not very fun at all. :big grin:

I have to warn you, I am prone to pouncing Canadians. It's the accent, I swear I just can't help myself! Just whisper "sorry" or "about" in my ear... *Swoon* God help you if you have a Scottish accent! :big grin: I blame all those TV shows that had actors from Canada and Scotland who had sexy accents (Degrassi, Stargate Atlantis, Bad Girls...).

Kidding!... Ahem... :blushing:

I become jealous when I read from where everyone is! And I'm sitting here in my little country (Belgium btw) sometimes warm, the other moment it's raining.
About fanfiction I started reading some years ago, (I can't remember when) But I just remember that I didn't came out of my room for a long time. (except for eating and the bathroom).
And sometimes it still the case that I don't come out of my room for a day. I say that fan fiction is very dangerous for my social live! and I think for my 23 years on this planet my social live isn't become better during reading fan fiction. But I don't mind! As long as I have fan fiction and some friends. :D

Ah, Florida... the mystical land of Dar and Kerry. All these comments re the bugs, alligators and heat are turning any preconceptions of a tropical paradise I had to dust. But then that is what I get for living so very far away.

Belguim? That's awesome :D Don't be jealous. I've never known someone from Belgium. Now I do! sweet. Honestly though....I think after a few months here you'd get sick of the sun. I just came home...and I was outside for like half an hour and now i'm gross and sweaty. :crying2:

You know....I have never read the Dar and Kerry series. I really want to but I never find the time because of school. But I plan to. I wonder how good it portrays the "real" florida. Does it show angry drivers getting mad at the 90 year old drivers that take five minutes to turn a corner????? Cause if it does....than yay! That's a part of everyday life :D

Annnnnnd....I so wanna go to New Zealand. I will go once in my life I promise lol After I save money for about 30 years so I have enough money to visit. So when I hit 47...ohhh yeah...I'm going :D lol As far as social life goes....ummm....what social life?

reading someone who lives in NZ call FL a mystical land/tropical paradise is quite amusing lol. I'd trade Florida any day for a visit to New Zealand. I'm with you Vnud, I have never read the Dar and Kerry series, which is sad considering how long I've been reading fanfic. Ive only heard great things about those stories and I am also curious to see how they portray my home state. I am totally loving this thread though, I'm glad so many people are responding to it :)
sometimes the reading of fanfic turns me into a recluse, especially when I'm reading one of those stories I just cant put down and are epic in length haha.it definately provides a great distraction from my schoolwork. has anyone else in here stayed up all night just to finish reading a story? or tried to and passed out at the computer desk? lol.Ive definately done both.

The very few times I've read a story that was based where I have lived (CT or MI), I don't think I've ever said "OMG I KNOW WHERE THAT IS!". So don't feel too bad about not reading the Dar/Kerry series (although you should read it, since it's really good!)

Oh yes, Hello new people! *waves* Welcome welcome welcome. I have to say we have quite a few different areas of the globe representing on this forum! *proud smile* That's really freaking cool!

A New Zealander, eh? I have to ask, did you live near where they filmed Xena and Hercules? If you did, can I bask in your Xena-ness? :love struck:

And Belgium... I have an old coworker who just went there with his partner. All they talked about on their Facebook's was how wonderful a trip they had, how great the food was, and beer :big grin:

I can't tell you how many times I have locked myself away for hours and even days on end where all I did was eat, sleep, potty, and read. Those first two horrible years in college were spend mostly in my dorm room, reading and gaming away. On a happy note, I did make some very good online friends, some of whom I still speak with today. And reading, to me, is a good thing to do. You just have to sometimes moderate how much and for how long you spend squinting at your screen/book ;)

Well my lovelies, I must finish work and get outta here. Happy Friday, Happy reading, and Happy... uh... weekend! Yes, happy weekend! :daydreaming:

If only I knew precisely where in NZ Xena was filmed I'd be able to answer that. We're a bit more savvy with LotR locations I think. Perhaps you can just bask in my honourary Xena-ness.

This talk of Belgium is making me crave Belgian chocolates. What a cruel cruel thread, tempting me with things I can't get hold of.

I have to go to an A-themed costume party in about 6 hours. Help! What, within the realm of a regular sort of wardrobe, can I dress as?

As in I have to go as something that starts with A. Apple, Aardvark, Ansel Adams or a group effort as the A-team. Those kind of things. The only actual costume i own is a generic pirate one and I can't think of a way for that to morph into something beginning with A. Sigh.... dilhemma.

Lol. Toga's out since we have toga parties at a different time of year (students... what can i say?). The rest of that list is good though. I'll just put on some aviators and a bomber jacket (hope i still have one) and presto! Aviator. Seems the easiest.
Thanks so much!
