Meet and Greet

Nice joke K :D I'll need to pass that one along lol
All you guys's moms sound amazing. My mother passed away three years ago and I miss her dearly. Make sure to tell your moms you love them.

I do have a nephew story though! Oh god...I dunno where to start.
Ok this one was a couple weeks ago. Me, my sister were at the kitchen table talking and she noticed my nephew reading in the dark in the living room. She goes, "Bobby, how can you read in the dark? Turn on the fireplace lights."

And his reply...."Mom, the letters are white. I can read it."

Of course, I just busted out laughing because I had never thought of that lol

:) Nephews are great.

Scotti, Yuri, I'm sorry about your moms. I tell my mom I love her every time we talk on the phone cause I would miss her greatly if she wasn't around.

I saw this today and thought it was cute.

I likes the icon Yuri. School's already started back for me. 8 o'clock physics class... :crying2:

Hmm, my joke for today. It's funnier when you're drunk but what isn't?

Two cows are standing in a field.
One says to the other "Are you worried about Mad Cow Disease?"
The other one says "No, It doesn't worry me. I'm a horse."
Me - "Quiz time!"

I love deviantArt. You can find almost anything you want once you get past the naked people. My major is Mathematics. I will, hopefully *crosses fingers* be graduating in the Spring, or maybe Summer.

You no get the joke??? I don't know how to make it click...

Silver, I cant stop laughing at that cow joke. It took a second for it to sink in, but its pretty brilliant in its simplicity. Thats a bummer about physics at 8... and math? You are a brave soul.

Yuri, good luck with your classes. This is your senior year right?

Ok, I have another joke to add. Well, its not so much a joke as a funny email my friend sent me many years ago (2003 to be exact) but I know all the floridians on this thread will appreciate it. Its kinda long but with hurricane season here and our first big hurricane about to hit the east coast, I figured its appropriate:

We're about to enter the peak of the hurricane season. Any day now,
you're going to turn on the TV and see a weather person pointing to some
radar blob out in the Gulf of Mexico and making two basic meteorological
points:

(1) There is no need to panic.

(2) We could all be killed.

Yes, hurricane season is an exciting time to be in Florida. If you're new
to the area, you're probably wondering what you need to do to prepare
for the possibility that we'll get hit by "the big one.''

Based on our experiences, we recommend that you follow this simple
three-step hurricane preparedness plan:

STEP 1. Buy enough food and bottled water to last your family for at
least three days.

STEP 2. Put these supplies into your car.

STEP 3. Drive to Nebraska and remain there until Thanksgiving.

Unfortunately, statistics show that most people will not follow this
sensible plan. Most people will foolishly stay here in Florida.

We'll start with one of the most important hurricane preparedness items:

HOMEOWNERS' INSURANCE: If you own a home, you must have hurricane
insurance. Fortunately, this insurance is cheap and easy to get, as long
as your home meets two basic requirements:

(1) It is reasonably well-built, and

(2) It is located in Nebraska.

Unfortunately, if your home is located in Florida, or any other area that
might actually be hit by a hurricane, most insurance companies would
prefer not to sell you hurricane insurance, because then they might be
required to pay YOU money, and that is certainly not why they got into the
insurance business in the first place.

So you'll have to scrounge around for an insurance company, which will
charge you an annual premium roughly equal to the replacement value of
your house. At any moment, this company can drop you like used dental
floss.

Since Hurricane Andrew, I have had an estimated 27 different
home-insurance companies. This week, I'm covered by the Bob and Big Stan
Insurance Company, under a policy which states that, in addition to my
premium, Bob and Big Stan are entitled, on demand, to my kidneys.

SHUTTERS: Your house should have hurricane shutters on all the windows,
all the doors, and-- if it's a major hurricane -- all the toilets. There
are several types of shutters, with advantages and
disadvantages .

Plywood shutters: The advantage is that, because you make them
yourself, they're cheap. The disadvantage is that, because you make
them yourself, they will fall off.

Sheet-metal shutters: The advantage is that these work well, once you get
them all up. The disadvantage is that once you get them all up, your
hands will be useless bleeding stumps, and it will be December

Roll-down shutters: The advantages are that they're very easy to use, and
will definitely protect your house. The disadvantage is that you will
have to sell your house to pay for them.

"Hurricane-proof'' windows: These are the newest wrinkle in hurricane
protection: They look like ordinary windows, but they can withstand
hurricane winds! You can be sure of this, because the salesman says so.
He lives in Nebraska.

"Hurricane Proofing Your Property: As the hurricane approaches, check
your yard for movable objects like barbecue grills, planters, patio
furniture, visiting relatives, etc.; you should, as a precaution, throw
these item s into your swimming pool (if you don't have a swimming
pool, you should have one built immediately). Otherwise, the hurricane
winds will turn these objects into deadly missiles.

EVACUATION ROUTE: If you live in a low-lying area, you should have an
evacuation route planned out. (To determine whether you live in a
low-lying area, look at your driver's license; if it says "Florida" you
live in a low-lying area.) The purpose of having an evacuation route is
to avoid being trapped in your home when a major storm hits. Instead, you
will be trapped in a gigantic traffic jam several miles from your home,
along with two hundred thousand other evacuees. So, as a bonus, you will
not be lonely.

HURRICANE SUPPLIES: If you don't evacuate, you will need a mess of
supplies. Do not buy them now! Florida tradition requires that you wait
until the last possible minute, then go to the supermarket and get into
vicious fights with strangers over who gets the last can of SPAM. In
addition to food and water, you will need the following supplies:

23 flashlights. At least $167 worth of batteries that turn out, when the
power goes out, to be the wrong size for the flashlights.

Bleach. (No, I don't know what the bleach is for. NOBODY knows what the
bleach is for. But it's traditional, so GET some!)

A 55-gallon drum of underarm deodorant.

A big knife that you can strap to your leg. (This will be useless in a
hurricane, but it looks cool.)

A large quantity of raw chicken, to placate the alligators. (Ask anybody
who went through Andrew; after the hurricane, there WILL be irate
alligators.)

$35,000 in cash or diamonds so that, after the hurricane passes, you
can buy a generator from a man with no discernible teeth.

Of course these are just basic precautions. As the hurricane draws near,
it is vitally important that you keep abreast of the situation by turning
on your television and watching TV reporters in rain slickers stand right
next to the ocean and tell you over and over how vitally important it
is for everybody to stay away from the ocean.

Good luck and remember: it's great living in paradise! Those of you who
aren't here yet you should come. Really!

*sigh* I miss Florida lol

Oh my god bwahawhahahahah That whole thing is true. God, I'm still laughing ahahahhahaah :big grin: :ROTFL:
Good one :applause:

Everything is so true. Actually, I think there's a hurricane coming. I think it's Bill lol
People ALWAYS wait till the last minute. And then! you watch on tv while people start getting trampled for bottled water. Oh I love florida when that happens. lol we are so screwed up. Now I have a huge urge to buy a Big knife with a strap. Youre right, it does look cool :cool2:

My family and I have never evacuated lol We are among the stupid. But oh well. And yeah I'll be a Senior this year :D Class of Oh One. Lord thats lame.*sigh*

:ROTFL:

I love it Colz. I have to say a lot of people do evacuate. I grew up in a Georgian town that intersected two evacuation routes and when a hurricane came through, we were slammed pack. No rooms are available at any hotels and we have a lot of hotels. The tiny RV parks that are lucky to see three or four RV's any other time of the year become full. But I don't think we will have to worry about Bill. It's going to do a hard curve before it hits the US.

I have no idea what my occupation is going to be. I have to transfer to another college to get a master's and then, I don't know. I could teach, but I would only teach college. High school... *shudders* No way. I have a standing job offer at my old college when I get a master's degree, but I think I'll look into different fields. I'd like to make a little money first you know.

This isn't a joke but I found it humorous. I went to the library today because I had a few hours to spare. I found a chair by some stacks of books and relaxed awhile. I started looking at the books beside me and do you know what I had sat beside? The joke books. Three whole shelves of all types of jokes. Old jokes, new jokes, the theory of jokes.

We highschoolers aren't TOO bad.....well....at least I'm not lol. As long as you teach an AP class you shouldn't have a problem. All the AP teachers love their Ap students lol You'd Probably teach pre-calc WAY better then my teacher did last year.

You didn't happen to look into these joke books did you? lol Oh the irony. I love it :D Maybe it was a sign from god( or whoever you may worship; if any).....

Highschoolers are awful and we both know it Yuri. AP students aren't too bad but only senior teachers get to teach them. College students are better because they don't have to be in the class.

I did glance at the joke books. I saw one that was cute. It took me a second but it will hit you.

An author said to a critic, "I want your honest opinion about my book."
"It's worthless," The critic said harshly.
The author replied, "I know but I still would like to have it."

Today at the library I...uh...*cough* stumbled upon the pornography and fetish section. I read a good bit of a book about 17th century pornography. There were no pictures...not that I was looking for any. :whistling:

When you ever so accidently ran into this pile of books, that just so happened opened by themselves, and your eyes betrayed you by reading...did you find anything interesting? :winking2:

Oh and so I uploaded some of my sketches up onto DeviantArt. Could some of you check it out if your bored to let me know how I did? It's only a few but I should be loading more soon.

Yes it will broaden your horizons alright. I just wanted to add, Yuri, that I saw the Tortall Lineup you favorited on dA. :big grin: Now that made my week. Lol, I wonder what Tamora Pierce would say...

Now for my joke.

A lion woke up one morning feeling rowdy. He went out and cornered a small monkey and roared, “Who is mightiest of all jungle animals?”

The trembling monkey said, “You are, mighty lion!”

Later, the lion confronted a deer and bellowed, “Who is mightiest of all jungle animals?”

The terrified deer stammered, “Oh great lion, you are by far the mightiest animal in the jungle!”

On a roll, the lion swaggered up to an elephant and roared, “Who is mightiest of all jungle animals?”

The elephant snatched up the lion with his trunk, slammed him against a tree, stomped on him and then ambled away.

The battered lion hollered after the elephant, “Sheesh, just because you don’t know the answer, you don’t have to get so upset.”.

I know right. But I still love Tamora Pierce and all of her works. She does have some lesbians characters. Keladry's maid and friend Lalasa is a lesbian. From the Circle Universe there's Daja [ :big grin: ], Lark, and Rosethorn's bisexual. Lark and Rosethorn are a couple and that makes me happy. Now if only I can find a pinup of those characters.

I never read the circle ones, just the Tortall ones. My favorite is Protector of the small. I can reread that anytime lol I really didn't pick up on lalasa and her maid. Maybe I need to reread them again lol But I love Tamora Pierce as well. She is an amazing writer and I love her tortall universe. I read her Beka cooper Terrier and I own Bloodhound but I refuse to read it lol cause then I'd have to wait a while for the sequel.

Maybe on DA you can ask a request from the person who did the Pinup...ya never know...
