Meet and Greet

No comments on love yet; I haven't had the time or the inclination to think about it and I'm not sure at all whether it's a gift or a curse.... Laughter is a different thing though, and now that things are strating to look up again I am quickly becoming addicted to it, so stop procrastinating and get down to work because we, the audience, are tapping our foot and waiting impatiently for the next installment of FAKE News: take those girls to Missouri (the weather is awful but what a beautiful place) or to Tennessee (Nashville is fun) or to Mexico or even bring them all here to Spain. I've just used my best pissed off teacher's voice here too... :D

:laughing2: As you wish....

The last remaining camerawoman films the scene outside the studio. Police blocks are in place holding back the crowd, they were borrowed from the local police department. Sherry, Courtney, Yolanda and her wife, Yolanda's sister/producer are the last to walk out of the studio. They lock the doors and turn facing the crowd.

Sherry addresses the rowdy female crowd. "As you all know, we are indeed moving our studio to California. We had planned to take a jet over, but our funds are too depleted because of the numerous law suits facing the studio at the moment," the rest of the crew looked over to sherry, this was news to them. "Therefore, we will be taking a roadtrip!"

"-WHAT?!" Sherry's co-anchors shouted.

Yolanda stared angrily and placed her hand on her hip, "Oh hell no. Do you remember the last time we went on a roadtrip? We only went to Miami, but by the time we got there we had already been arrested, thrown out of walmart at 2 A.M, flirted with by college frat boys, chased by a person with road rage, almost ran over an alligator and a old lady, and I gave you a broken nose. And I won't even mention the truck stop. I REFUSE to get into a car with you." Yolanda's wife raised her eyebrow and nudged her in the side with her elbow.

"You never told me about this."

"Umm...never came up sugarplum. Later love yes?" Yolanda pleaded looking around. Sherry snickered and made a whip sound, the crowd laughed and Yolanda blushed heavily.

"Look Yolanda, we don't have a choice. Plus, I want to see the sights. We could stop at some national parks and see the scenery. That won't be too bad will it? The whole crew and staff will be going too. Maybe we can recruit some new anchors as well, we need more camerawomen. We will film the whole thing and then air our trip as a premier show once we are in Cali. Think of the ratings! Everyone will want to see you fall on your ass white water rafting!" Sherry laughed and then rubbed her shoulder where yolanda punched her.

"I think it will be fun guys, I don't think we will have trouble with boredom" Courtney said as a caravan of SUV's pulled up. "So, chill out. I want to stop in New Orleans and try out Mardi Gras, It should be starting soon. Topless women? What more could you want?" She grinned and the crowd of women let out cat-calls.

Yolanda grumbled and wrapped her arms around her wife. "Fine, I'm gonna say I told you so when we all fuck up. Which, will be hilarious on second thought. Let's do it! Where we going first?"

She was met with silence, and then chaos dominated as female voices could be heard for blocks.

YURI!!! You so read my mind! Well the roadtrip part anyway...
Cavedweller, so impatient... :winking2:

Once the crowd had dwindled down to the FAKE workers, Yolanda stormed over to her sister the producer. "Sis! What's this crap Sherry was spitting out about not having enough money to rent a jet?!? I know you've made enough money to make Donald Trump jealous!"

Yolanda tried to stand firm as her sister gave her a glare that would make their mother proud. "You want to know why we couldn't take a jet Yolanda Shakira Liar!?! Because you're banned from every airport in Florida after that incidient between you and Sunny Galore. AND!!! Don't get me started on why Sherry's on the No Fly aka The Terrorist Watch List!"

Yolanda rounded on a blushing Sherry. "You're on the No Fly List?"

Sherry mumbled something about little bottles of tequila, four stewardesses, and an overhead compartment.

Yolanda's sister broke in, "So no arguments from either of you. Here are your coupons to U-Haul. You better get over there before it closes?"

"We're not renting cars?" Courtney asked, coming over to join the conversation. The producer pointed to Yolanda and Sherry, "Since their road-trip to Miami they've been banned from all the local rent-a-centers. Luckily between all the queer folks at the station we've managed to make U-Haul very wealthy and they've graciously offered us a few of their trucks free of charge. Granted they are older trucks but U-Haul honestly doesn't expect to get them back."

"Come on ladies! I used to be a truck driver before I was a model or tv anchor. Let's go get them trucks and head on the road."

Everyone turned to look at who said it and were shocked to see it was Rachel Looker. She had changed from her designer outfit into ripped jeans, a cut off flannel shirt, and old ball cap. She walked over to Yolanda's sister and took the coupons from her hand. "Don't worry about a thing boss. We'll make it to California or my trucker name isn't Carpet-Muncher." She started walking away but not before grabbing Sherry's butt as she walked by. Sherry gasped as Rachel smirked, "You're riding with me cutie."

Everyone was left in a state of shock. Courtney finally cleared her voice, "She's still quiet the looker."

Sherry moaned, torn between looking pleased and frightened, "I'm doomed."

They were? Well, they picked a good week to visit then! They should've stayed until tomorrow. *evil laughter* Nice and warm today, mid 70's with a light breeze. Tonight? Hail and heavy thunderstorms into the morning. Wouldn't suprise me if the temp drops down into the 50's or lower.

cavedweller5 wrote: ...installment of FAKE News: take those girls to Missouri (the weather is awful but what a beautiful place)....

For all of my grumping over the weather, it is a beautiful place. Especially right now when all of the leaves are changing color. Give it another week or so and the trees will have a riot of color going all. It makes driving between cities so much more interesting!

_________________________________________________

The U-Haul caravan chugged along the interstate and crossed the border into Missouri. There was a collective gasp of appreciation over the wide range of colors the trees saw fit to grace them with. Two seconds later the cb airwaves filled up with arguments over where to visit first. Some wanted to head directly to the amusement parks and ride the roller coasters until they puke. Others wanted to catch a couple of live shows down in Branson. And yet, still others wanted to head to Kansas City and partake of the best BBQ in the country. A shrill whistle cut through the noise and everyone cringed.

"Alright! Alight! That's enough. It's getting late, so we're going to pull into a hotel and discuss our plans like adults" Rachael stated.

"Adults? We aren't adults! Isn't that right girls? Adults have to do responsible shit and we're on vacation!" yelled a voice, sounding suspiciously like Yolanda. Yells of agreement followed that statement with enthusiam.

"Let's find a bar and scare the locals!" cried another voice. Laughter and catcalls answered that announcement.

"Okay people! Let's do it this way. Let's head to the hotel and write your ideas down on a piece of paper, put them in a hat or fishbowl, and then we'll draw out a few and see which one we like the best." Yolanda's wife voice commanded. Laughter was heard and them the sound of ripping paper filled the air.

The ladies got to the hotel, got the rooms (with a discount since they had that nifty AAA card), and rambunctiously headed down the hall. After the last woman passed the hall closet, it cracked open and a female eye peeked out at the crowd. One of the last ladies in the crowd, Suzie Longears tripped and landed on her butt. She let out shout of laughter and heard a quiet gasp from behind her. She turned quickly around and spotted the eye.

"Hey ladies, lookie what we have here!" She shouted happily and jogged towards the closet.

I was planning to take the girls into Missouri but not so soon. So just pretend this is posted before Celtic's
______________________________________________________________
Courtney gaped at the long line of U-Haul trucks all lined up along the road. "How many trucks do we have?"

Yolanda's sister, the producer, answered while checking stuff off her checklist, "18."

"Wow..." Courtney said, leaning back to watch some camerawomen load equipment into the back of a U-Haul. "So, who you riding with boss?"

The producer gave her a look, "I'm not riding with you idiots. My flight to Califorinia leaves at 7 o'clock tonight."

"What?!?" Yolanda shouted, having heard what her sister said. "We have to drive while you sit on a comfy plane?"

"Do I need to go over the details of why all of you can't be on a plane again?" The producer asked. Sherry quickly jumped to cover Yolanda's mouth before she could say anything else. Sherry shook her head fiercely while struggling with Yolanda, "No need to repeat the details."

"ALRIGHT LADIES! I got all the trucks installed with some CB radios. Time to load up and head on out," Rachel called out. She walked over to where Sherry, Yolanda, and the producer were standing. "Lets get a move on ladies."

"Umm, okay. I've brought my GPS," Sherry offered, holding hers up. Courtney and Yolanda's wife also held up their own navigational systems.

The look on Rachel's face could only be described being between horribly offended and horribly disgusted.

“A GPS? A GPS! You think I’m going to follow orders given by a damn electronic female voice that couldn’t even get a calculator wet let alone sweet talk me?” Rachel shouted. She took all three GPSs and throw them on the ground. “I know the best damn way to Cali and that’s the way we’re taking. Now get your asses in the trucks!”

She gave Sherry a hard smack on her ass to send her on her way. Sherry cried out before running to front truck double time. Yolanda’s wife looked ready to murder Rachel but Yolanda loved her wife so much she drug her away before her wife could start anything with Rachel. Courtney merely shrugged and walked over to the truck she would be driving.

Rachel nodded at the producer before climbing into the lead truck. She smirked at Sherry beside her. “You better buckle up darling. This is going to be a long ride.”

Sherry double checked her seatbelt after the truck started with a great noise. She didn’t know whether or not she would survive the trip but she had to admit, the idea of Rachel topping her before she died was an extremely pleasant way to go.

Rachel lead the caravan to I-75. Sherry said nothing as they passed into Georgia, only that they stop for something to eat. After cleaning out a Golden Corral, every one got back into their trucks and kept following Rachel. Sherry was certain that California was East but they weren’t sure why they kept going North. She finally drew up the courage to ask, “Umm, shouldn’t we be turning left somewhere?”

“We will sweetpea,” Rachel said, blowing her horn at some slow idiots in front of her. She then reached over to pat Sherry’s leg. “We’re just going to make a stop on the way.”

Sherry gasped as Rachel’s hand started drifting upwards. “Eyes on the road!!!”

Rachel grinned, “You’ll find I’m very talented.”

“I’d rather find out while still alive so Eyes! On! The! Road!” Sherry snapped. She then smirked pleasantly as Rachel obediently turned her eyes back on the road. Rachel might not be the only one doing some topping on the trip.

I got some news this afternoon. Bad news. Been pretty much sort of numb and don't really know how I ended up here. Guess it's not the time or the place at the moment, but it's a familiar, nice place, and fun too. I still love reading about those girls. It's just that right now it's like a cloud is filling up my head. But I truly appreciate talent, and there's definitely lots of talent here. Thanks. Again

Aw, Cavedweller I'm sorry. If you want to share or rant or whatever you can. That is one good thing about not really knowing anyone on here. I'm sorry I can't really help you know. Can't be there to give you a hug or heck, just a pat on the shoulder. Wish I could. So I give you my love and support as one forumer to another.

It's fine Celtic, you were just excited about the roadtrip like everyone else. And yep, my parents were in Missouri. They went to the Crater of Diamonds and played around in there for awhile. Didn't find no diamonds :( And they drove into Branson and Spring Field.

Thank you. Thank you all very much. It seems to me that all I’ve done to contribute to this forum, at least the last few times I’ve been here, is saying thank you. But how could I not be grateful? For the good times, for how generously you all share that amazing ability you have to make others laugh, for the company –not less appreciated even if it is of the virtual kind-, and now for being so incredibly supportive. It is sort of funny, isn’t it, to find such comfort at a somewhat unexpected place. Maybe silver is right, maybe we are all strangers to one another, we have no face, no voice, no physical presence, but there are some very real people behind those names on the screen, right? Mine is Rosa, by the way. I have read and then read again the words you’ve posted here addressed to me, and believe me, I don’t think I can begin to explain these feelings they’ve triggered. I am moved, touched, a bit overwhelmed, and so very, very grateful. Hugs are still hugs, and their warmth can sure be felt even when the shape they take is that of very small and very cute emoticons. Words can certainly give courage and support and reach that place when they’re most needed even when they’re delivered from half way across the Earth by people who may not really know one another but still know enough and feel enough to try and brighten someone’s darkest days. About a year ago I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. This has been the hardest time of my life, and the most frightening, a darned nightmare which got still worse if possible thanks to a couple more blows that hit me square on my face along the way (one of them literally): my girlfriend of two years left me a few weeks after being diagnosed, right after I had surgery, claiming that she couldn’t cope with it (that story has gotten a lot more surreal since then) and this past summer I had a rather unfriendly encounter with two bastards who did their best to show me how little they liked lesbians. But finally last month I allowed myself to start believing that there was a light at the end of the tunnel: my most recent blood tests and US scan were promising and even my doctor looked happy. Then last Friday I got the results of my last CAT scan and it seems that I started feeling a bit too optimistic a bit too early; I’ll need one more month of radiation therapy and then we’ll see. I feel like the party pooper right now, I am really sorry for dumping my Dickensian story here and don’t even know why I said anything in the first place, I guess I was somehow shocked and came home and did what has become a habit, did what felt normal and familiar and soothing in a certain way. I know this is no drama, I know there are people going through much worse things. I am not one to indulge in self pity, I think of myself as a strong, confident woman, able to deal with whatever comes my way. I usually keep things to myself, work things out on my own and try not to burden anyone with anything, not out of pride but because I don’t like seeing myself in a situation where I need any kind of help. I’m babbling and making very little sense, aren’t I? It’s just that suddenly I am so tired… Please excuse my ranting. What I really wanted to say is thank you. Again. From the heart. You are all wonderful people, so kindhearted and so generous, and I am honored to have the chance to share this little bit of cyberspace with you. And please take those girls from FAKE news to California and keep making us all laugh.

Rosa, don't be ashamed about your rant. I think you deserved the right to do so. I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm touched that you decided to speak to us about your situation. I'm quite honored. This place is amazing isn't it? All you have to do is sign up, post, and you have an automatic support group. One that I'm happy to be a part of. I'm not going to pretend I know how hard it is living with the disease or everything else you've been through, but you do have us. We will be here through everything in the coming months. If you need a laugh, post a topic asking for a cheesy joke. lol Someone will post! I swear it!
If you are in need of anything, one of us will try and help if it's within our ability to do so.

Oh, and you can say thank you as many times as you want. :big hug:
For myself, you thank us, but I think we should be thanking you. :applause: Thank you for sharing your story, thank you for letting us help you, and thank you for your praise.
