I know a lot of people on here read fanfic from a lot of different tv programmes. Just wondering which fandom you think has the biggest quantity of good writers. For me it's Xena definitely, although the X-files is definitely just slightly behind.

The best fan fiction writers are the ones who write regardless of the fandom. I say thanks to everyone who has been writing and posting. WIthout you all I would have nothing to read (that isn't bought in a book store and mostly mainstream).

I agree with DK. I started with Xena but there is so many different fan fictions out there now its very difficult to decide. So my list

I was introduced to Birds of Prey fanfic by darkenedkarma. It's fanfic based on the American Graphic Novels and TV show Birds of Prey. Barbara Gordan(Batgirl) and Helena Wayne (daughter of Batman & Catwoman) ... Check out this wiki site to get a general idea.

A fantastic story. DK is the person I would ask for the best BoP stories she knows them all. My all time favs are DK's Twist of Fate and Phryne's Bad Grammar which can be found at the Birds of Prey page on Ralst.com. http://ralst.com/storiesBoP.html
You don't need to be educated on Bird of Prey history to enjoy the fanfic. Give it a try I don't think you will be disappointed.

OMG! I can answer this one easily. It's a play off the Selena Kyle and Bruce Wayne relationship where they had a child (Helena Kyle). When Selena (Catwoman) was murdered Batman fled the city out of guilt and a broken heart. Helena Kyle, aka Huntress becomes the ward of Barbara Gordon (Batgirl) who was shot by the Joker in her home. The Joker had been arrested by Batman and Batgirl only to escape police custody. That was when he tried to kill Batgirl, mainly to hurt Batman.
So, Huntress and Batgirl (now Oracle) partnered to fight crime in New Gotham. The show had one season. It was so so at first but towards the end the plots improved as did the action.

Now this is the TV version. There are some differences between the comic and the tv show. There are some other good one's too I'm sure people will be happy to give you recommendations.

Which fandom has the biggest quantity of good writers? Well I love everybody who writes any fandom, but Xena has the largest quantity of writers. Then it goes in Birds of Prey, Star Trek, Law and Order: SVU, Wicked (though more on ralst.com), and so many more. I'm currently into Glee fandom, Quinn and Rachel...
and who doesn't love the gay Jane Lynch who plays the amazing Sue Sylvester? I did read a pretty good BoP fanfic the other day. A Place to Rest and Heal. Yall read that one yet DK, Scotti?

Sounds interesting. I tried all of them at one or another. Mel and janice. Star Trek. SVU. That is except Birds of Prey. It might just be me but Xena fanfic seems to be where it's better. That's about the best I can describe it. I have nothing against any of other fanfic.

Well I mean its all where you first started reading. It seemed to me that everything started as Xena Fiction, then progressed to ubers, then to originals. I started reading with writers like B.L. Miller, Mavis Applewater, Larisa so they are my roots and I'll always find their work incredible and they are predominately xena and uber writers.

I have not read that particular story yet Silver, but like DK I certainly will. Thanks for the rec.
I think Xena fanfic blew the internet wide open for other fanfic. I started reading in 1996 and now, WOW it's everywhere in every genre and fandom. You will never run out of stories to read. But for me my Loyalty is to Xena and all that she has generated.
I have actually been reading a Harry Potter fanfic lately. It's a very good, original story. It is altfic so be aware. I didn't think I would be able to get my head around the kids being Adult and being told of in er sometime very Adult situations.
