Chapter Five

After her mother helped her settle into her old room, Kat threw herself on her bed and laughed for a long time. "Oh my God, can this get any better?" She said aloud, laying on her back and chuckling. "She deserves what she gets."

Oksana groaned when her cellular rang. She looked at the number, and groaned louder.

"Are you not going to answer?" Oskar asked her and when she didn't reply, an eyebrow rose.

Oksana shook her head, thinking fast. "No, I can get back to it later." She said.

"Answer it." Oskar ordered, just as the phone's annoying ring stopped, and instantly started again as the caller tried one more time.

"But, Papa-"

"Answer it," He said more forcefully, his eyebrows furrowing. "And take care of it once and for all. You might as well start now, you will be busy for the next few days, calling your friends."

Oksana felt like throwing a tantrum, but just barely stopped herself. She knew by the look in his eyes that Oskar would not give a shit if she threw herself on the floor and slammed the back of her head against it. She punched the yes button on her cellular. "Yes, Lila?"

"Hi, babe." Lila Michaels said seductively. "What are you up to tonight?"

Oksana clenched her eyes closed. She could imagine that Lila was lying down in bed, naked, as she always was when she called Oksana. The woman would fondle herself until Oksana offered to come right over and finish the job. "Ah, listen, I'm busy." Oksana said haltingly, fighting the temptation. Her grandfather was looking at her with warning in his eyes.

"Aww, what about tomorrow?" Lila insisted. "Joe is away on your grandfather's business for the next week."

"Um," Oksana hesitated, sparing a quick glance at her grandfather. He was getting pissed at her, she could tell. His eyes were telling her to get it over with. "Listen, uh, I'm not going to be able to see you any more."

"What? Why?" Lila sounded devastated.

Not more devastated than Oksana, though. "Um, I have to get my life in order." She tried to explain. "You know, settle down and all of that."

Lila laughed loudly. "You? Settle down? Give me a break!"

Oksana frowned. Bitch. "Yes, what's so hard to believe about that?"

Lila was still laughing, and she gasped: "Honey, if you settle down, I'll leave my husband and become a nun, and we know the likelihood of that." She laughed some more, then said: "The only way you'd settle down is if you cut your tits and pussy off. Ha!"

Oksana was livid. She would have shaken Lila silly if they'd been in the same room. She forgot all about Oskar and Nadya. "Listen, you goddamn bitch! I can settle down, I don't need to sleep around all the time!" She snarled into the phone. What does she think I am, some weakling? I just like the ladies, that's all.

"Right."
Lila said, lengthening the word. "Just tell the truth, your grandpapa just threatened to cut you off if you don't stop sleeping around. God knows you get around."

Oksana hung up, seething. Well, she's off my book. She thought, and then sorrow hit her. Hell, everyone is!

"See? That was easy, wasn't it?" Oskar said, smiling now. With enough doubting girlfriends, Oksana would settle down just to prove them wrong. She always loved a good challenge.

"No!" Oksana burst out, standing up and pacing the study once again. "That was the hardest thing I've ever done! I just turned down sex! I can't believe it!" She grasped her hair with her hands.

"Well, get used to it, my dear. You have sown enough oats to last twenty lifetimes." Oskar said unsympathetically.

Oksana threw herself down on her chair and sulked. She was quiet for a long time, thinking fast. She leaned forward suddenly, her eyes begging. "Just one girlfriend." She offered.

Oskar's eyebrows rose and he glanced at his wife, whose expression matched his. "She better be the one you're going to marry." He finally said.

"But, papa!" Oksana was on the verge of wining, and she didn't care. "I can't just give up sex like that!"

"No girlfriend, unless she's the one you want to marry." Nadya reiterated.

Oskar cut his eyes towards his wife, trying to hold back a smile. She sure is getting into this. He thought, chuckling inwardly.

"Mama!" Oksana was shocked; her mama, who always went out of her way to make peace between a headstrong Oksana and her equally stubborn grandfather, was on his side. She jumped to her feet, stomping her foot once. "This sucks!" She sputtered, to their surprise, and then managed: "I'm going to take a swim, I need to think." She walked out of the study with a scowl on her face.

"Goddamn mother-fucking…"

"Annie's eyes widened when Dena opened the door, cursing a blue streak. But that wasn't what took her aback. Dena was sporting a mean black eye and a bloodied nose. "What the hell happened to you?" Annie asked, walking into the apartment.

"Thanks to your lovely girlfriend, I have some angry people coming after me. It just happens that I ran into one outside my office." Dena snarled; the tissues she held against her nose muffled her voice.

"Jesus," Annie exclaimed.

"She sent all my pictures out!" Dena spat.

"Wow!" Annie suddenly felt lucky that all she'd gotten was a slap in the face. Kat could be a vicious bitch.

"Where is that bitch?" Dena demanded, brown eyes flashing. "I know she quit her job, and she's not living with you."

"As far as I can tell, she's not in the city any more." Annie said.

"What do you mean? Where could she go?" She stuffed the tissues into her nostrils and tied her long brown hair back.

"Back home, I guess." Annie said. "I've been asking around, and nobody's heard from her. She took all of her shit when she left me." She ran a shaking hand through her hair. She was extremely frustrated. She didn't know how to get in touch with Kat. She couldn't leave her job to follow Kat, and it was driving her crazy.

As she watched Dena stomp around the apartment, Annie began to regret ever fucking around on Kat. Dena was a gorgeous woman, very sexy, and heaven in the sheets, but Kat was even hotter. Annie found herself fantasizing about burying her face between Kat's lusciously toned thighs, her hands caressing Kat's heaving flat stomach and full breasts.

"Are you listening to me?" Dena was yelling.

Annie snapped back from her fantasy, annoyed. "What?"

"I said," Dena enunciated slowly, as if speaking to a developmentally disabled person. "Where is home for Kat? She never told me where she's from."

"Oh. Sanford, it's Upstate somewhere. I never really cared." Annie said.

Dena frowned. "I know exactly where it is." She said softly.

Kat woke up from her short nap slowly. She stretched languidly, feeling much better after the long drive and morning. Smiling softly, she sat up on her bed. God, I've missed home. Her eyes took in her old bedroom, which hadn't changed at all since she'd left for college years before. Her bed was still there, and the rest of her bedroom set had been obviously well kept. Daddy must have done it. She thought, sighing. She looked out her window at the gorgeous backyard and nearby pool. She'd always loved this view. What she saw now made her freeze.

"Damn." Kat whispered admiringly, her eyes riveted to Oksana Ivanov's back. She didn't want to, but she was unable to stop looking at Oksana, who stood by the pool gazing down at it. She gasped in surprise as Oksana pulled her shirt off in one fluid motion. Her eyes were glued to the magnificent back and shoulders, her mouth dry as Oksana stretched and rolled her shoulders. Oksana, unaware of being watched, pushed down her jeans, revealing a very perfect toned ass and muscled legs. "Shit." Kat uttered; her hands tingled as she imagined what she could do to that hot body. It'd be unnatural, she thought with narrowed eyes.

She clenched her eyes closed and shook her head quickly, pissed at herself for the moment of weakness. "She's a bitch, a whore, and she is just like Dena." She whispered in a mantra, and that seemed to douse the fire suddenly raging through her. But when she reopened her eyes, she gasped as she reveled on Oksana's front. Kat's eyes narrowed as they zeroed in on the blonde tuft of hair between the toned thighs.

She couldn't hold back a sneer as her eyes moved slowly over the obviously hard abs and focused on the globes of Oksana's breasts. She'd never seen breasts so perfect in her life. The wave of Oksana's hand snapped her back to herself, and she looked up at Oksana's smugly smirking face. She had been caught. Furious with herself and Oksana, Kat closed her shade. She left her bedroom in search of her mother.

"I've got your number now, baby." Oksana whispered with a chuckle after Kat had closed the blind. She jumped backwards into the pool, allowing the cool water to soothe her sexual hunger, if only briefly.

Chapter Six

Oksana fielded calls for the rest of the day, giving the bad news to disbelieving girlfriends. The news had gotten around fast, and her phone was ringing non-stop. She was getting so fed up that she almost broke her phone on more than one occasion. This is going to be so fucking hard.

Giving up sex was torture for Oksana; she was already feeling horny and frustrated. "What am I supposed to do?" She asked herself. She hadn't gone a day without sex, even when she'd had her period. Then, she only pleased the other women, and the visuals were stimulating enough for her to orgasm.

Oksana flopped herself down on the grass next to the pool with a sigh. She lay down on her back, cradling her head on her hands and gazed up at the darkening sky. My life is truly over. She thought. I should be out getting laid. She got up much later, and decided to stay the night. Her day had been tiring, and she didn't feel like driving home.

She donned her clothes and strolled back into the house. She made her way into the kitchen, not saying a word to Yuliya as she headed straight for the fridge. She looked in and tried to decide what she wanted to eat. Hmmm, Oksana thought as she eyed some left over bacon. BLT? Sounds good. A sharp slap across the back of her head made her jump up. "What the hell?" She spun around to face an angry Yuliya.

"What did you do to Ekaterina, Oksana?" Yuliya demanded, hands at her hips, her green eyes flashing.

Uh oh! "Um," Oksana tried, eyes wide. She scratched at her head, wondering what she should say. "I didn't know who she was, if that helps." She quirked sheepish eyebrows, trying a disarming smile.

"Is that how you act with all women?" Yuliya asked loudly, wagging a finger at Oksana's nose.

Oksana dodged the finger, edging to the side, but Yuliya followed her.

"You need to learn some respect, young lady." Yuliya admonished. "Do not let me find out that you've disrespected my daughter again!"

Oksana, eyes wide, made tracks out of the kitchen, not bothering to respond.

Kat hadn't seen Oskar in about three years; the last time had been the last weekend she'd returned to Sanford to spend with her parents. He'd had much less gray hair then, but his face was otherwise unchanged. When Kat had finally come to his study, they'd greeted each other as if no time had passed. Within minutes, they were competing in a game of chess. She beat him in less than five minutes.

"Ah, just like old times." Oskar sighed happily, leaning back on his chair. He smiled warmly at the young woman. She was so much like a granddaughter to him that he imagined he was as happy as Yuliya and Josef were.

Kat nodded slowly in agreement, chuckling. She crossed her legs at the knees, gazing fondly at the old man.

"So how have you been?" He asked.

"Fine." She said softly, looking away. Her face gave everything away, and she knew it.

Oskar's eyes filled with sympathy. He knew it had to be the woman Kat had lived with for the past four years. "What happened with Annie?"

Kat swallowed hard against the lump in her throat. It hadn't been hard to hide her feelings from her parents, she'd been good at it in her teenage years, but it had been incredibly hard to hide her feelings from Oskar. She'd been unable to hide her lesbianism from him then either. Finally, she managed: "It just didn't work out."

"Four years, and it did not work out?" Oskar insisted, and an eyebrow rose. "It has to be more than 'it did not work out.'"

"She cheated on me with my sluttish best friend, how's that for real life?" She said through clenched teeth. The tears, when they came, felt hot in her eyes. She tried to blink them away, and failed. "Shit." She whispered, wiping at her cheeks with trembling hands.

Oskar dug into his slacks' pockets, retrieving his clean handkerchief and handing it to Kat. "I am so sorry." He said sincerely.

Kat dabbed at her eyes, sniffling. "Sounds like a soap opera, right?" She said shakily.

"Yes," Oskar said gently. Some time passed before either of them spoke again. Oskar watched Kat slowly take a hold of herself, and finally asked: "The other woman, who is she? Annie's last name is Torres, is it not? I can make some phone calls and-"

"No! Oskar, thank you for the thought, but I don't want to ruin Annie's career. She loves what she does, and it would kill her to lose her job." She said softly. "And Dena, well, her father is just as powerful as you, I think." Kat explained.

Oskar frowned. "Dena?"

Kat nodded, biting her lower lip. "Dena Perez-Sosa." She clarified.

Oskar's right eyebrow rose to un-reached heights. "Mark Daniel's daughter Dena?" At Kat's nod, Oskar scowled. "If I remember right, she tormented you in high school."

"She never knew who I was." Kat explained.

"Why?"

Kat shrugged, unsure herself. "I guess it was in the past." She said, and then smiled slyly. "In any case, I got her back."

"What did you do?" Oskar asked, leaning forward curiously.

Oksana walked into the study without knocking. She stopped in her tracks at the sight of her grandfather and Ekaterina Gorky chatting it up, heads close together over his chessboard, laughing. She'd expected him to be asleep, and had planned on sitting down and relaxing for a little bit.

Oskar and Kat looked up. The women's eyes met, and Oksana curled her lip and leered. "Well, what have we got here? Just like old times, eh?" She said, strolling towards the small bar at the corner of the study.

"That seems to be the theme tonight." Kat said lightly, determined to ignore Oksana's leer.

"What is going on, Oksana?" Oskar asked, watching Kat as her eyes followed Oksana across the room. He could see them traveling the length of Oksana's back, but he noticed that her face was carefully blank. A gray eyebrow rose. Hmmm, interesting.

Oksana poured herself a small scotch. "Anyone thirsty?" She asked, lifting her glass at them.

"No, thank you." Oskar said, his eyes taking in the scene.

"No, thank you." Kat echoed.

Oksana shrugged carelessly. "Suit yourselves." She downed the scotch in one shot without so much as grimacing. "So, Ekaterina," Oksana began, pouring herself another. "What have you been up to all this time? Any boyfriends? Girlfriends?" Her eyebrow rose and she cocked her head.

Same eyebrow as Oskar, Kat thought fleetingly. Her eyes could not help but take in Oksana's face. Damn, but she's gorgeous, she lamented. Too bad she's such an asshole and I can't stand her. That fucking leer either. She was mentally cataloguing everything about Oksana's face. She took in the perfect nose, the perfect blonde eyelashes and eyebrows, the perfect jaw, the perfect hair that curled slightly and the sexy beauty mark in the middle of Oksana's perfect full bottom lip. Too damn perfect, she thought and looked away, angry with herself. "No boyfriend." She finally said, her voice not giving anything away.

Oksana smirked. "Girlfriend?" She insisted.

"Nope." Kat said.

"What did you do in the city, Ekaterina? You graduated with a business degree, did you not?" Oskar inquired, hoping to steer the conversation away from significant others. He could see Kat was starting to get upset again, but his granddaughter was like a bulldozer with people's emotions. Either she did not see them, or she simply did not care.

Kat took a deep breath and looked at Oskar, effectively dismissing Oksana. "I ran the marketing department at Omega Corporation for the past two years." She said with a smile.

Oskar frowned. "Omega is part of Ivanov Enterprises." He said.

"I know." Kat said.

"Why did you not say anything?" Oskar asked, confused.

Kat shrugged sheepishly. "I guess wanted to do it for myself." She said.

"I would not presume to unfairly help you further yourself-," Her raised eyebrow said otherwise. "Alright, I know, I would have at least offered."

Kat smiled at him and nodded in agreement.

Oksana, in the meantime, was checking out every curve visible from Kat's sitting position. Beautiful tits, legs, thighs, mouth… Jesus! A painful throbbing between her legs made her shake her head forcefully; she turned away and walked towards the window. She gazed out at the dark yard and sighed inwardly.

I don't need this now, I don't need this now, and I don't need this now. Remember ultimatum, best behavior, and no sex. She grimaced. By now, she would normally be in some woman's bed, having the time of her life. She felt an irrational anger overtake her. Without a word, she stormed out of the study, leaving her grandfather and Kat staring after her in surprise.
