I liked the premise of this story and thought it had a lot of potential. I could see this as an episode. The only quip I had with it was the sexual relationship that evolved between Gabrielle and Talmadeus. That part was unsettling. Besides being a seedy warlord that bordered on being a pervert in the episode, 'The Greater Good', and physically looking deformed, he was old enough to be her father. But I think the author's heart was in the right place and didn't realize that. Gabrielle is depicted here as a bit unhinged and I loved Xena's persevering at all cost to get her back. - kazy - Oct-20-2012
