Della Street is an amazing writer. What can you say about someone with her talents? She so dramatically captures the essence of Xena and Gabrielle's relationship in a way that lies just below the surface - that is so much hinted at on the show but dare not go that full throttle intensity. Della Street gives us that full throttle dynamic that we would so much love to see on the show - that we know is there on the show - we can see it - but the producers never give us totally. If there's one writer that says it all in her depiction of the protective love and intensity that the warrior has for her bard - and the witty sensual bantering between them - it's Della Street. This story is the single needed evidence, that the original XWP-writers really didn't care about the fandom. Because if they had, this brilliant story (written in '97) would have been definitely added to the show (well, except for the now 'maintext' parts). Has a pretty unique premise and is well-written. I like Xena repeating the familial relationships after Gab's cousin states them each time. Conveys a lot. I don't know why it has such a high spice-rating though; there's hardly any spice (sob).
