I've read DJWP's other brilliant works but for some reason avoided this one. I didn't like the idea of the plot. I am a FOOL. This story is truly, truly, excellent. If you have't read it yet, do so NOW! X & G are perfectly written, their imporobable love deeply inspiring, and the historic and military elements of the story fascinating and thrilling. I cannot get the picture of a miniature Xena stuck down Gabrielle's cleavage out of my mind - and then not wanting to leave her comfortable and interesting abode.
