A lot of fun and a great ride through the series. highly recommended - goldenruhl - Nov-16-2007 WOW!!! What a Fantastic Series,I love all of S. Derkins stories, but the Mother Earth Series is a wonderful thought provoking Series. Remarkable realistic characters, the stories from A Door Opens to Dark Sunrise is one of a kind. The description of people and the places are outstanding. A place I would love to live in. To start over on a new earth Would be awesome. A MUST READ!!! Anon Dec.-06-2007 - Anonymous - Dec-06-2007 I love Derkin's Mother of Earth series, but part 8 "Diplomacy" seems to have a broken link. The rest of the story isn't there after a few chapters. - Jude - Dec-20-2007 I don't know how it happened, but it seems I've missed this outstanding series until now. Lucky me, there are numerous installments available, and I'm thoroughly enjoying each and every one. If you like adventure, creativity, thoughtful discussion on the meaning of community, along with a bit of romance and a dynamite ensemble cast that just keeps getting richer and more full-bodied, give this series a chance. It is my fervent wish that this series go on indefinitely. Well done S. Derkins, and thanks! - cg - Feb-09-2008 I love these stories. The story line is fascinating and I would love to live on Mother Earth. My Great Grandmother was a full blooded Cherokee, so maybe that's one of the reasons they appeal to me so much, but they are a treat to read and I can't wait for the next installment. - Netta - May-04-2008 I've known about this series for a while now, but I hadn't read any of them until recently. Once I started reading this story, the first in the series, I devoured them all in a couple of days. Really excellent, and even thought-provoking stuff. - Arassar - Jan-29-2009 wow! i must say this one of my favorite series if not the most. unique imagination. thrilling! you won't get bord reading this. i reached the end of this series and am still waiting for updates. a nice twist to this story... - bluebutterfly - Jan-31-2011 I really was enjoying this story. I liked the pacing and all the confused and restless thoughts Xena was going through - her setbacks and defeats - her anger and intensity - and then it just - sort of - ended. One of the greater stories I've ever had the pleasure of reading. The main character, Luna, has to figure out what the heck happened to her and how she ended up in space. But where she ends up is even more interesting. Read the sequel, The Fallen, and you'll find out more of this place Luna ends up in. :-D - Katia N. Ruiz - May 10th, 2005 If you hadn't read this story please do. It's a great story about a woman who gets taken from our time into the future and how she finds love even though the Earth has removed unlikeable DNA traits such as homosexuality. It's a great story and don't forget to read the sequals The Fallen and there's a third called Reining in the Belle. - Anonymous - Jun-02-2006 love it got to make another one...maybe...thanks for the story just beautiful... - Anonymous - Apr-13-2008 This is one of my favorite original fictions. I've reread this story and its sequels at least ten times. If there is nothing else that interesting to read on that day, I just go to my bookmarks and find your stories and read. Awesome work!! Great entry in the Mother Earth's series. This series has an extended cast of main characters and an even larger one of supporting characters. My one beef about this series is that JP (Cierra's spouse) gets put through the emotional wringer and often (ok almost always) is the one who has to compromise in their relationship and in fact, most of the relationships portrayed have this characteristic. This entry has a lot of JP seemingly having to compromise, especially when Cierra often does things and just crosses her fingers that this time she hasn't pushed JP too far. That said, it is a wonderful series and definitely worth a read. - Stacia - Apr-06-2014 |

This entry in the Mother Earth series is kind of different from the other stories, concentrating on the expanding colonization of Mother Earth by people from different times/worlds. In a way, I feel this should be a spinoff because it seems people are moving away from the ideals and principles of the first several stories. Regardless, the worlds S. Derkins creates are rich, full of life and the ups and downs associated with it. One of the best series in the fanfic world. - Stacia - Jun-04-2013 |
