Acceptance by Kamouraskan
Xena | Alternative | Drama | Very Short Story - 5 pages | Finished |
Having read most of Kamouraskan's works, I'd strongly recommend anything he writes. This one is no different. The thing I like most is his ability to take some of the best-loved scenes from the show and make the reader see it from another perspective. He's also a master at nailing the characters so you "hear" their voices. This is short, with a lot of depth. Enjoy. - Bronwyn - Jul-27-2010

An old school story from a brilliant classic writer. It is fictions like this that help to remind me just how much I love these characters.
Thanks you. - Kez - Aug-31-2010

Simply one of the finest bards out there writing today. If I could write material of this calibre on a daily basis, I would be a happy bard indeed. Kamouraskan manages to deliver depth, originality and stellar story-telling every single time his fingers hit the keyboard, and this story is no exception. It's short, but every word is chosen for the perfect effect and ultimately, the perfect ending. - Roo - Dec-02-2010

What an amazing story. It was touching and stunning at the same time. I love these timeline anomaly stories where Xena or Gabrielle try to change the natural course of events to prevent the others death or pain in the future. In some cases it works, like in the classic timeline story by Ella Quince THE BROKEN THREAD which this story reminds me of, but in other cases, like this, some things are written in stone and must be accepted. Kamouraskan's is a very solid writer, who has a maturity and truthfulness that I find very rewarding when I read any of her work. I also like that she often employs twists to her storytelling. This was an emotional read for me -- and it's a keeper, for sure. - Karon Reiter - Jul-01-2011

i love these stories that present a background to the show.. somehow they make the episodes more complete.. well written and very true to the characters.. - xtra dog - Nov-10-2011

Xena | Alternative | Romance (alt) | Short Story - 15 pages | Finished |
Cast: Gabrielle, Xena, Ephiny, Velasca
Part 2 of the Champion Series
Series List: Champion, Champions
Champion takes place in an alternate timeline, in which Gabrielle ran away from Potadaia before meeting Xena, received the rite of cast and became princess of the Amazons under Queen Melosa. When the Queen became mortally ill, Gabrielle faced a challenge for the Queens mask by Velasca and sought out the very newly reformed Destroyer of Nations, (who had returned home, only to be nearly stoned to death by the townspeople of Amphipolis.) Suicidal, she is stopped by the young princess who challenges her to a staff fight, hoping to goad Xena into being her Champion in the challenge. Not amused, Xena nearly kills the young girl, but not before she recognizing the girls bravery, and the strange connection between them.

Do not miss this one folks. A lovely nostalgic feel, and an incredibly original take on Gabrielle's path after the FIN events, this hits all the targets for a very memorable read.

awesome story.. therefore the author stating at the end that she was thinking of retiring from the xenaverse fills me with dread.. i love reading about these characters in all their forms (xena and gabby, mel and janice, conqueror, ubers) and i have just discovered the xenaverse about a year ago.. seeing a talented author retire makes me sad.. - xtra dog - Nov-11-2011

Judgment by Kamouraskan
Xena | General (Mature) | Horror | Very Short Story - 4 pages | Finished | Jan-00
This is an dark piece and thought-provoking piece. To quote the author, 'the following story is about the aftermath of violence and may be upsetting to certain readers. However, considering that incidents like this actually happen every day in real life in North America, it's rather foolish to be offended by its occurrence in a short story placed in ancient Greece.'
freaky.. still it is amazing that an author can capture the working of a twisted mind in such a way that it becomes tangible to the reader.. - xtra dog - Nov-12-2011

When I began reading Xena fan fiction there was one name that kept popping up in the writers' 'thank yous': Kamouraskan. So I naturally checked out the bard and started reading everything. Spider by Kamouraskan
Xena | General (Mature) | Humor | Very Short Story - 5 pages | Finished | Feb-00
Here's a clever little tale with a different twist! A good Classic Xena and Gabrielle tale that could be thought of as the authors' attempt to answer those burning questions: Why can't our heroines get separate rooms? And why doesn't Gabrielle mind if Xena leaves when she's telling a story? There is horror, mutilation, and the author's inimitable sense of humour. This should not be read by the squeamish.
this is well written and good entertainment. I love it when Gabrielle gets the upperhand thru devious bardly methods. this will make you smile. give it a go. - msprism - Apr-16-2007

nice short story. once again, true to the characters. - kjviking - Mar-29-2009

this story is from the beginning of the show.. so it takes some adjusting to that period.. but nice story nontheless.. - xtra dog - Nov-13-2011

Honors/Awards:  Top-25 #1.
what a poignant story. It truly asks the question of what is justice and how is it balanced. - Lee - Jun-01-2008

A very powerful story. I'm not sure that it's easy to describe. The best thing is to read it. Excellent:-) - Lyn B - May-25-2011

the author takes you on a trip with a lot of curves in the road.. as a reader you know from the beginning that something has happened but the writer skillfully keeps you in the dark as to what really happened.. the phone calls are a touch of light in the dark.. once again, a very well written story.. - xtra dog - Nov-13-2011

When In Rome by Kamouraskan
Xena | Alternative | Drama | Novel - 171 pages | Finished | Mar-09
Rome, in the 2nd century A.D. The ancient Greek Gods are still alive and they manipulate time and circumstance to bring to life two very special women.
A gripping start. I can't wait to read more and see where are you going with this story. - M. - Mar-13-2009

I'm sarting to enjoy this tale more and more with each chapter! And quite the original twist there. - Anonymous - Mar-18-2009

This author rocks! I cannot stop checking to see her new work and this story is a good one! If you love XWP, you will love this story. - kjviking - Mar-28-2009

So far, When In Rome is absolutely, without a doubt the best post-FIN fic I have ever read. I think it's difficult to write a post-FIN story with much depth because writer's focus on the FIN section of the plot rather than the "post" section and they end up with a flat story.

This is not one of those stories.
- Jenna - Apr-05-2009

Amazingly great depth to the characters with just a hint of humor. I'm having a blast reading this because it addresses so many issues that have bothered me about FIN and past X/G moments. Therapy and a great tale all in one. I wouldn't miss out on this one. - Kerr - Apr-13-2009

Don't miss this truly imaginative story. Kamouraskan is a gifted author, and he's crafted a most unusual post-FIN tale. And while the plot is wonderful, the characterizations are even better.

Thanks, Kamouraskan, for adding such a quality entry to the shrinking number of new X/G tales. - LDP - Dec-01-2009

A wonderful story by one of the better writers. A different point of view, with wonderful touching moments. Don't miss this writer's story of that wonderful pair. - Liv - Dec-03-2009

Wonderful! Well worth the wait. - Anonymous - Dec-03-2009

If you are one of those die hard Xena fans like me, you will absolutely love every word of this exciting new tale. This author has a way of spinning a tale that makes you feel your along for the ride. I look forward to more exciting adventures, give this a read. You will enjoy it. - Brighteyez - Dec-07-2009

Thank you for taking the heartache that was FIN and changing the world. This is an epic worthy of savoring and I did. I want to say so much more, sadly I'm not a bard and words fail me. Just read it. - MoSeS - May-18-2010

This was a wonderful story. Loved how Kamoraskan brought back Xe/Gab. Suspense, love, intrigue - a really fun read and a very talented author. Thanks so much for sharing ! - x/g fanfic fanatic - May-29-2010
