Absolutely hilarious -- one of the best pieces of Xenaverse humor I have yet seen, and a great remedy for those AFIN blues. Warning: Do not attempt to read while eating or drinking, or you may either choke or spit out your food/beverage all over your keyboard! Well done! - LadyKate Sep 30th, 2003 |
Not for animal lovers that's for sure. - Fluffy Sep 30th, 2003 |
I want to show this woman there is more to life then what she has had... to show her uncondtional love! Very well done FT!!!! Such a sad tale... I know the out come of this one is a very happy ending someday! - Wizzy Sep 29th, 2003 |
This story was incredible. I've never laughed so much or cry so much. Make sure that you have a large stock of tissues nearby before you even start reading this story, cause trust me you are going to need them. Not only for the sad parts but from the tears that you will be shedding through the laughter as well. - Cheyenne Sep 29th, 2003 |
I have read a lot of fan fics but this one and The Nearest Distant Shore held me captive from start to finish. The emotional rollercoast that this story put me through is beyond any thing I have ever experienced while reading other stories. This story took me from laughter all the way through to crying my eyes out. This is one story that I will never get tired of reading over and over again. - Anonymous Sep 29th, 2003 |
I wanted to reach in and grab this woman. No one should be in a situation like that. No one should live like that. No one should feel that they are no better than anyone else. The character cannot change the woman. The character cannot help the woman unless she really truely and honestly wants to. So don't change to fit into some life like that. That character should be out the door and live her life and not the others. GREAT STORY!! Will always remember it! - T. Stratton Sep 28th, 2003 |
this is a beautiful story about a deep friendship... and for me, it's not a lesbian story ! congratulations to Irish for this Uber !!! - laurence Sep 28th, 2003 |

To whoever might be concerned:
It was brought to my attention that there was a review posted for LJ Maas Rebecca's Cove at a site called Openbook supposedly written by me.
I did not write that review. I have called and e-mailed Larry at Open Book asking for it to be removed as I do not appreciate my name and address being used in this way. I also don't mess with people's jobs, a lesson others need to learn.
Secondly, I'm not nor have ever been an 'Uber' reader. I have never read any of the authors mentioned in the review and anyone who knows me knows that.
Apparently my impostor didn't. I also have no earthly idea who Cruise or Stoley are. I wouldn't even know about this, if someone hadn't pointed it out.
Having someone impersonate me is upsetting. What bothers me even more is that the so-called "victim," even before this review was posted, was sending emails implying that certain persons were after her and writing unpleasant reviews as some form of revenge. And then, lo and behold, the one with my name on it appeared.
Starting a self-righteous rally to feel important, when what is needed is more contact with reality is bad enough. What is worse is the brown-nosing followers who would probably jump off a bridge if told to do so, are gathering behind the victim in this crass toast.
One thing the "Verse" still hasn't learned is, don't follow; think for yourself, and find things out for yourself. Just because someone smiles, and talks fluently, doesn't mean they aren't flying under your bullshit detectors. Bluntly, pull your heads out of your asses and don't believe everything spoon fed to you.
Amazon and Openbook have been notified on all accounts.
When I make mistakes I own up to them, another lesson others need to learn. I have sat through numerous lies spread about me and did nothing, but this time I want people to know a bit more of what is really going on. That is, someone, not me, is playing games.
To the person who wants to pretend to be me? At least try to write like me and pick a topic that I would care about.
Sincerely bored,
The 'Real'
Amy 'Murphy'
We waited more than one year for this story, and personally I can only say the wait was very well worth. It’s really an especial treat! The kind of story that once you read the first paragraph you can’t stop before you read the last one. And when you do, it will still be in your mind. It isn’t a forgettable story. LadyKate handled a very unique plot in a way that’s unique to her and that makes her, in my opinion, the best bard of the Xenaverse. EQUAL TO THE GODS deals with a very polemic and disturbing issue, but LadyKate is the kind of writer that can write about just anything and it will be always tasteful, elegant, intelligent, thrilling and yet, extremely honest. It’s so well written that you can easily “see” the characters in the action when you read it. Some moments of EQUAL TO THE GODS may be a little disturbing (be ready for that!) but it’s definitely a great reading. You can never foresee which path the story is going to take and you can never have an idea how it’s going to end before you get there. - Lucia Beltrao Sep 28th, 2003 |
I enjoyed the story although I found the pages to be a bit graphics heavy. Took forever to freaking load. - KellysTigger Sep 28th, 2003 |
I have read all the segments of this fine series and I think it gets more interesting on each outing. In this story I found myself very intriqued by Lara's journey and how Sarah's love helped and soothed her. Really well done. - June Sep 27th, 2003 |
I thought this story was very fast paced and tense. I liked it a lot. The only thing I would have liked was a little more backround on Claire. I hope there is a sequel so we can get to know all the great characters better in this story. - Swampaa Sep 27th, 2003 |
God this is now one of my fave's!!! I absolutely love this bard.. I can't wait for them to write another one!! MORE PLZ!!!!!!!!! The characters are so unique and yet retain the base elemets of X&G. Simply Amazing! I don't want to give any spoilers but you would be completely mad to overlook this epic novel! - Snuff Sep 27th, 2003 |
AWESOME PIECE OF WRITING!! Heart wrenching to know that what you said is so true for a lot of woman. May they all know that they can be true to themeselves and be who they need to be. Life is way to short and I hope your story makes someone take the steps to be who they are and not someone elses preception of a person they think they should be. - Tina Sep 27th, 2003 |
Having not read the original book or seen the movie, I really enjoyed this story and found myself remembering clues and really getting in to it myself - norma thompson Sep 26th, 2003 |
I fed the bards direct, saying how much I loved this story and would love to buy it if it's published. - norma thompson Sep 26th, 2003 |
I enjoyed all 3 in the Honor series and bought the novels. My favourite author by far. I also bought Safe Harbor my fave and Loves Melody Lost. Radclyffe has a way of making you feel involved with the characters well done! - norma thompson Sep 26th, 2003 |
Very funny !!! - Anonymous Sep 26th, 2003 |
LadyKate handles the characters and their relationships pertaining to each other with respect and care. You definitely have to an open mind about all of the relationships involved here and mature enough to understand the issues that are depicted in this story. It's not for the weak of heart, that is for certain. - Jenn Sep 26th, 2003 |
I really enjoyed reading the phone call and am very glad you wrote this one. It was very good and hope to read more on it soon. - Debbie Dee Sep 25th, 2003 |
This was a very good story but very sad. I really enjoyed reading it. Thank you for writing it and hope to read more of your good work. - Debbie Dee Sep 25th, 2003 |
Just finished reading this story. It is really good and well written. I can feel the emotions that went into the writing of this as I read it. Very good Tina. I liked it. - Debbie Dee Sep 25th, 2003 |
This story made me cry as I read it. The circumstances could have been mine. Thank you for writing this story even with all the pain. - Christine Sep 25th, 2003 |
Debbie, I could feel the heart pain and anquish that has gone into writing on this topic. I believe as wives and mothers, all of us have at one time or another had similiar thoughts. Thank you for sharing this with us. Well written. - Nancy Sep 25th, 2003 |
Debbie Dee....what can I say. It's not often that we get to see the flip side of a wife and mothers ordeal. It made me sad to think that a woman could spend her whole life...girding someone else up and at the end of the day...feel like it hasn't been worth it. Being a spouse isn't easy in the best situation, but what you have here....made me more appreciative of my own mother...and for that I thank you. You did such an awesome job of writing this DD...GREAT JOB!! ....really - ne-ne Sep 25th, 2003 |
I was hoping to see more and here it is. Very interesting dynamic. - Anonymous Sep 25th, 2003 |
A buddy of mine sent me this story saying it was a nice take on the what happened at the end of season three. What I didn't expect was how much it would touch my heart. A very sweet story. - Aggie Sep 25th, 2003 |
I was hoping to see more and here it is. Very interesting dynamic. - Anonymous Sep 25th, 2003 |
There was magic in this author's finger tips as she wove this totally delightful, bewitchingly enchanting, and thoroughly entertaining romantic fictional tale. This is an awesome story, people! This story is a MUST READ! Then you'll be able to see for yourself just what I'm talking about. I have never, ever been disappointed in in this author's ability to write a most superb story. And she has done so again with this one, "Play It Again Sam". Thank you Ali Vali for making yesterday evening's reading event an unforgettable one for me. - MjM Sep 25th, 2003 |
this story plus chase the storm are my faves always lots of laughs with larisas stories am still waiting for a combination of her stories to be published whats wrong with the publishers not to latch on to these? - norma thompson Sep 24th, 2003 |
Wow, how brilliantly disturbing! What a great read! Taleweaver gets dark, but in a well written short story. Someone's partner is late, but what will we find as we come along for the ride? A shocking finish. Well worth the read. - Denise Sep 24th, 2003 |
Nice to read a good love store without having sex as part of the plot. Would recommend to anyone who wants to read a sweet story. - Rachel Sep 24th, 2003 |
Would like to see more of these characters to see what might have come out of the relationship. Written in an entertaining way. - Rachel Sep 24th, 2003 |
I wanted to hate this, but I found myself laughing so that blew that right out of the water. Brilliantly done. LOL - Sarah Sep 24th, 2003 |
Perfect. Short, simple and perfect. - Emi Sep 24th, 2003 |
I have never been one for reading long stories especially when they are not finished. With that said, I am so glad I made an exception to this rule for Fate. Fate is an amazing story with a well developed plot line and three dimensional characters. I can honestly say, unlike most of the longer stories I have read, this one has never had a dull moment. This story is a very entertaining mixture of intrigue, humor and action. Nice job D E Salsbury, keep up the good work. - Summer Sep 24th, 2003 |
I have to admit this was brilliant and totally hysterical. I was cackling so much my lover asked if I was planning to lay a dozen eggs soon. LOL Just wonderful being able to laugh. MORE PLEASE! :) - Carol Sep 24th, 2003 |
Amy (I hope that's not your real name... It will make it too easy for them to find you & serve you court papers), THANK YOU! One question... Did Joe LoDuca do your musical arrangements? BRILLIANT!!! P.S. Don't worry I'll contribute to your defense fund. - Full of Grace Sep 23rd, 2003 |
This made me laugh so hard I pissed my pants! Where do I send the cleaning bill? Please don't keep us waiting too long for the next part! - Kaye's Boi Sep 23rd, 2003 |
I was originally going to write about "Tango" and ask... is that all? But then I saw the story "Starbird", and happily read that one too. I've always been a big sci-fi fan, so I really enjoyed the story. But now I ask... is that all? I was unable to contact these author to ask this questions because the email address listed is no longer valid. I hope the author reads this or someone that knows the author reads this and passes along my praise for the story, and my hope that we will be graced with another sequel. I for one would be a very willing reader. - Rosa Sep 23rd, 2003 |
Heart crushing, philosophical, an entry in a personnel journal? Honest in it's simplicity. Daring and courageous in this authors style. Shadylady has once again found her way in to my heart with small words. I see myself and the events of my life reflected so clearly in her stories. Letting Go by Shadylady is a story to feel EMPATHY with. - SammyLee Sep 23rd, 2003 |
OH GOD! Good thing you have a spew warning here! LOL! When is the next part? - paws Sep 23rd, 2003 |
It is rare that I would ever read something that made me speechless. But mere words could not express the sorrow I felt nor show the true irony of this story...In order to live we have to move on but I have to thank Shadylady for taking a moment to express a hurt that many have experienced, but few have a chance to meditate upon. Thank you Shadylady...this was more than a great story.....it was and will remain...a true work of art. - a-non Sep 22nd, 2003 |
I too have fallen into this cateory of loving and having to let go. Shadylady has captured the heartbreak in a remarkable way while at the same time still holding hope out as a beacon. - Anonomous Sep 22nd, 2003 |
Wow. Just Wow. Will there be more? - Anonymous Sep 22nd, 2003 |
This was such a wonderful story that told us alot and was touching and entertaining. I really loved it. Thank you Ri! - jackie Sep 22nd, 2003 |
I have no words to do this story justice in a revuew. I can only encourage you to read it. In a way I envy you. You will read this story with fresh eyes for the first time, You have a remarkable trip aheed. ENJOY. - SammyLee Sep 21st, 2003 |
You read my mind here, just couldn't put it in a hysterical way like you did. ROTFLMHO! - Anonymous Sep 21st, 2003 |
I tried e-mailing the author directly but had my mail returned. So, I will comment here. Wow! This is an awesome story! I'm glad it's so long because I'm gonna hate to see it end. Thanks for some great reading. - Jenny D. Maher Sep 21st, 2003 |
I know in my heart this will have a very happy ending... never in my life would I have thought love online could really happend! Never even believed in it till now! Ok, demented? Can I tell them WHO this is about? LMAO... Shadylady, I can't begin to tell you the fun I have everytime I go into Walmarts now! TY for helping me tell this so true tale! The laughter we have shared over this is one is beyond words, I pull this up when its been a bad day. I think WW said it best... we are certifiable! I look forward to writting the bottle-washing story with you! Wonder how we will do the research for THAT one? - Wizzy Sep 21st, 2003 |
[Fan Fiction Editor's Note: Oops! Thanks for catching that - it has been corrected.] This story is listed as lesbian. It is not. - Grommetik Sep 20th, 2003 |
What a great story, Debbie Dee. I enjoyed the chemistry between Jamie and Casey and the plot was excellent. Thank you very much for a good read. Keep up with the wonderful work. - Red Hope Sep 20th, 2003 |

Frizzle is an adorable young dragon, and I truly hope his series is continued. Finally, a short story I can read to my daughter that won't take forever to get through! We both enjoyed this one! - Mary M.E Sep 20th, 2003 |
I felt my heartstrings tugged with this brief look at little Xena and Gabrielle. How cute! I wonder though, are there any more like this? - Mary M.E Sep 20th, 2003 |
Darkness Behind the Desk is a most unique story that will challenge your faith in your government and society. It will make you think about where we have gone, how far man has come and how far we COULD go. This story is short, but very entertaining, and most definitely worth a read. - Mary M.E Sep 20th, 2003 |
This is a very interesting tale. I would like to see more from this writer to see how the relationship turns out. - Sue Sep 20th, 2003 |
I don't know which Xena I loved more before the Chakram was united or after. It was a well done story that really took an honest look at Xena in this episode and what made her the warrior we love. - andi Sep 19th, 2003 |
One of the best ever. Dont You miss it. - Keegan Conner Sep 19th, 2003 |
SUPERB...ONE in a million... But where is the rest???? Need MORE PLZ - Keegan Conner Sep 19th, 2003 |
Revolution by Kim Pritekel and Alexa Hoffman is a major wow! It's a lovely, sweet, tender, humorous, LONG first time novel. I couldn't put it down. I was so impressed with the strong use of first person. It's rare to read a well written 1st person uber...I loved it. The characters are well developed and the authors allow them to evolve into a partnership, rather than using the instant attraction, love at first sight motif. There were some minor editing glitches and errors, but overall, it's a fabulous read. If I were Lunacy (which I'm not) I'd give this my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION! Run, do not walk, do not sleep, until you've read this one. - PT Martin Sep 18th, 2003 |
It's a real gift when a bard can a)stay on track, b)develop sincere characterizations without the story turning into a thesaurus garbage dump, c)write a sequel just as good as the first part, which incidentally is a complete story by itself and d)come up with bizarre titles so original and witty that actually fit the tale. Kudos to this fine writer! - Kaye Sep 18th, 2003 |
Ladykate has once again woven a heartwrenching tale involving the grand trio. In all honesty, I had a really hard time reading this so be warned for a some serious emotional rollercoaster. It is a well-written piece and certainly makes you think of tripartite relationships and all it could mean. I have my reservations about the characters as portrayed here but if you're mature enough to handle some hard issues, this could be a challenging read. A thoughtful treatise. - E Sep 18th, 2003 |
After this quick peak into the demented minds of both writers, I will never look at the tedious job of shopping for clothes/food the same way. Thanks to both of you for bringing laughter & joy into my life with this story! - Deranged ButterCup Sep 17th, 2003 |
This story is quite moving and I would recommend it to anyone who occasionally takes the time to reflect on their life. My friend I know you exposed yourself totally with this piece and I am proud of you. - Jazz Sep 17th, 2003 |
This story touched me very deeply. Thank you for submitting this to a public forum. - A nony mouse Sep 17th, 2003 |
I just finished this...2 parts 2 differnt authors....one story!!! AMAZING!!!! Great Job T! I mean really...I recommend both stories to anyone, but especially anyone who knows what it's like to have a best friend and lover rolled into one. It's rare but it happens. Thanks T - ne-ne Sep 17th, 2003 |
My thanks to my good friend Wizzy for allowing me to participate in this fun story. She is right that much of it is based on true fact but we will leave that up to you, to decide what is or isn't real. Ever since joining this web group, life has been unreal in a busy real world. Thanks for helping keep my sanity and my laughter, this is for all our friends and acquaintances who may need a good laugh. - Shadylady Sep 17th, 2003 |
Something I Said is now complete and I have followed this very different story from the start. There is angst, foul words that not only are appropriately written in the story, but at times, hysterically funny. You will both laugh & cry and want to cheer these characters on thru their rough times. The grandpa is a hoot and his cat is---ooh, can't say much & not give away too much. Give yourself a treat & read this sweet, funny & enlightening romance. - O.Ger Sep 17th, 2003 |
Haven't we all been insecure when we are faced with new love. Shadylady has captured the doubt and indecision all of us have felt at one time or another. What a refreshing love story. - enchantress Sep 17th, 2003 |
My God, I thought I was sitting at this woman's bedside as she passed from life. Shadylady writes with a percision that draws you totally into the drama unfolding before your eyes. Thank you for giving me a glimpse of real life up close and personal. - enchantress Sep 17th, 2003 |
Improbable Protector and its 2 sequels is simply a wonderful trilogy with great characters, romance, mystery & suspense written with much care & attention to development of plot & characters you will just love. Story moves around in places,& time with a realistic patience given to following characters progression into a warm, deep relationship. I have read many of JDragons stories and could not just pick one to recommend. But IP 1,2,& 3 is something I will read again & love it just as much as the first time. - O.Ger Sep 16th, 2003 |
I have been a KG MacGregor fan since the Shaken/Stirred series and I have got to say her stories just keep getting better and better!!! Getting it Right is fabulous!!! The romantic tension KG builds keeps you on the edge of your seat and the chemistry between Paula and Wynne is positively electric!!! Well worth the read and then some!!! Great job, KG!!! - Michelle Sep 16th, 2003 |
I'd like to recommend Felioness' "The Amphipolis Expedition" and "For the Love of Gaia" ... 2 wonderfully written sci-fi stories by one of my favorite bards. - Anonymous Sep 16th, 2003 |
I have read each and every story T.Stratton as ever written and they just keep getting better and better all the time. This story is great and I recommend it highly for everyone to read. Then go and read the rest of her stories. I know you will love them as much as I do. Please keep writing these great stories for us to read. - Debbie Dee Sep 16th, 2003 |
I really didn't know what to expect when I started to read this story I wthought maybe it was her explaining The Guantet to Gabrielle. Instead it was story of discovery for the Warrior. I was enchanted by it. Excellent! - Shane Sep 15th, 2003 |
Special moments with a beloved friend that you know will pass is a most delicate gift. Thank you For writting it...I know me and my Past beloved friend would have loved it. Just a month ago I lost somone... He had a long and painful death but he never gave up his smile. I will keep that with me and now I have a beautiful story to come back to now and then and relieve the loneliest steps I have ever taken in my life. The walk out of the room and out in the endless corridors of his hospital room, now when he had walked out the door of life. Treasure your friends, you only have them on borrowed time. - SammyLee Sep 15th, 2003 |
Wonderful uber, TT. I certainly enjoyed it and the story had an excellent plot. Thank you very much! - Red Hope Sep 15th, 2003 |
What do people think about the new title? I'd like to know. Thank you all in advance. :) - Katia N. Ruiz, The Tyger Sep 15th, 2003 |
What can I say #1. This is an excellent follow-up to My Best Friend. It definitely portrays Shannon's point of view about the relationship. You are a great friend and I am very proud that you chose to write the sequel to my story. - Shadylady Sep 15th, 2003 |
This is a wonderful series, I just love how Dakota allowed love into her life and both she and her beloved blossumed because of it. I must say the end was a bit startling but I really enjoyed all of it. - Anne Sep 15th, 2003 |
This is a freak-in hoot! Took balls to post too! - bardy Sep 15th, 2003 |
everytime I need a pick me up this is there to remind me what a wonderful friend I have in you my dearest woman! I cant thank you enough for the words of wisdom and the laughter you bring to me! Tanks for this and all the things we have shared! Wizzy - Wizzy Sep 14th, 2003 |
I always asked the same questions that Xena did, I think that Ri did a good job of explaining what happened to Gabrielle. It was such a beautifully done story I think I cried through out but it was a good cry. - Faith Sep 14th, 2003 |
Love Jamie and Casey. DD you did a great job on bring these two alive for us all. The way you had all the excitment and energy was awesome. A well written story and hope you do more!! - T. Stratton Sep 13th, 2003 |
My God!! This has got to be one of the best if not the best story out in the Xenaverse today. The writing is incredible and the author is a marvelous storyteller. Her meticulous character development is nothing less than genius. She definitely has a knack for bringing the characters to life. I can not wait for it to be finished and published so I can read it over and over. This has definitely become my favorite story. I highly recommend this story to all. - NR Sep 13th, 2003 |
This peice of work was outstanding, heart wrenching. I cried when I read it. You can feel the love from the first letter to the very last. Sisters have a bond that cannot be broken. Thank you Shadylady for this story. You have a way with bringing out the deep emotions and making you feel into the depts of your soul! - T. Stratton Sep 13th, 2003 |
I enjoyed this bard's first story LA Metropolitan so was happy to see a companion piece. Wow! This one was even better. In A Heartbeat is a wonderful love story. The characters are funny, compelling and presented in a well balanced manner. Once you start reading you won't want to stop! Great story and a thoroughly entertaining read. Hope to see more of these ladies. - Beth Sep 13th, 2003 |

Too DAMN Funny....Wizzy only you could deserve a birthday story like that and man Shadylady gave it to ya....Shady GREAT job with this... by the way, when is the next thing coming from you? I'm sure it can only be better - ne-ne Sep 11th, 2003 |
DO NOT MISS this story and the others that follow it, the story of Ryan & Jamie, their families and friends is one of the best I've read . This story grabs your attention from the very first paragraph and doesn't stop. S X Meagher storytelling has away of making you feel that your right there. The main characters and others in the story are very realistic. These stories will make you laugh and cry at times, I've read the stories "A" thru "M" can't wait for the rest. :) - JB Sep 11th, 2003 |
If any reader of Mayt's stories has wondered what she would do with the Conqueror genre, the answer is My Lord. Mayt's Conqueror is a woman who rules with a sharp mind and a sharp sword. Her justice is not "easy to watch" neither is it "grievous." A young slave enters her household and slowly earns her regard. A relationship develops between the two women as the Conqueror's realm is challenged by internal and foreign forces. Their, at times, unexpected terms of engagement, both spoken and unspoken, mark what becomes a fragile and enigmatic bond. 176 pp. Published in three parts. - Author Sep 11th, 2003 |
Whoa!!! Hey y'all...read this one. You're gonna love it! It's a wonderfully entertaining story...with some tissue time thrown in for good measure. This is one very talented writer who certainly has honed her craft. I have never been disappointed in anything of hers that I've read. And this is good. - amg Sep 11th, 2003 |
I really loved this story. It's a lovely romantic adventure for the mushball in all of us. I have no doubt this will remain on my personal list of favorite stories, along with just about anything else penned by Ali Vali. - Beth Goodman Sep 10th, 2003 |
This story was fantastic. Both Kate and Jay were so beautiful together. Love, romance, danger, intrigue, angst and so much more, made this a fantastic story. I loved it and would tell others to read it. There definately is a sequel beging to be read. REALLY looking forward to it . :) - Lilly Sep 10th, 2003 |
Wow! That was above and beyond the most fascinating yet disturbing story that I’ve ever read… You will inevitably find yourself feeling like Wylie Coyote hanging on to an acme rollercoaster. A must read! - Anonymous Sep 10th, 2003 |
I just love it when the words wrap around you like a warm blanket. This one held me in the entire way. A great read. Makes you go from beginning to end. Shows signs of a great writer. Good Job Ri :o) - Caden Sep 9th, 2003 |
I really enjoyed this nice romantic tale. I loved the relationship between the lead charachers and I loved the end. I can't wait to read the sequel. - Ri Sep 9th, 2003 |
The Story of Us is a sweet, funny, endearingly romantic tale that leaves you wanting more, so here's hoping for a sequel...what do you say Austin??? Great story!!! Thanks for sharing it with all of us!!! - Michelle Sep 8th, 2003 |
Awesome story. I really enjoyed it! - Anonymous Sep 7th, 2003 |
As I said I would do, I read this novella by R. Nolan late last night on into early this morning. I was impressed. This is a well written story which definitely showcases R. Nolan's writing talent. "In A Hearbeat" is a beautiful love story that leaves you wanting to read more about it's two lovely heroines. And this is not a PWP tale. This work of fiction definitely has a heart and a soul wrapped around a nice story line. You'll understand where the title comes from not too long after you start reading. You'll find yourself on cruise-control as you glide from chapter to chapter. Then suddenly, it's over. And you have to stop. But most certainly, you're filled with a craving for more. This cleverly written and totally entertaining fictional delight was, indeed, a follow-up to "LA Metroplitan", but it's definitely left behind in this sequel's wake. Where have you been hiding R. Nolan? I can most assuredly say I want to read more of this writer's work! - //AW Sep 7th, 2003 |
Loved it!!! - CAn Sep 7th, 2003 |
Excellent story! Well written and makes you want to keep reading to the very end. I look forward to reading more from this Author. - Anonymous Sep 6th, 2003 |
I was impressed with R Nolan's first offering "LA Metropolitan" so when I saw this companion piece, I was excited to read it. "In A Heartbeat" matched, if not surpassed her original work. The writing is well done, the characters are real and relatable. By the end of the story I was yearning for more. R Nolan writes a wonderful love story and I look forward to more work from this talented Bard. - Littlespit Sep 6th, 2003 |
Whoa!!! A pleasantly satisfying romantic tale that will delight anyone's taste for a great afternoon or evening of reading entertainment. Go ahead and read "LA Metropolitan". I'm willing to bet you'll like it. I certainly did. Thank you, R. Nolan. Now, next on my reading agenda for tonight...the sequel..."In A Heartbeat". It's a great day, or should I say, night for reading! - //WA Sep 6th, 2003 |
I really enjoyed reading both stories. i hope sharon smith continues writing about jordanna and rebecca, two exceptional soulmates! - pat Sep 6th, 2003 |
fascinating story of the effect one person has on others. I love how Xena handles it. Very interesting peice, Thanks Ri - Anonymous Sep 6th, 2003 |
The chemistry between Kate and Jay was amazing. It was very well written and drew me in immediately. I am hoping there will be more to this story SOON! Hint Hint!!! This is a must read for any and all romantics! - Sprout Sep 5th, 2003 |
I really loved this story its so cool! I love magic and stories of the power of love and this had both. I think its wonderfully romantic story. Its now one of my faves!!!! - Jillian Sep 5th, 2003 |
The title "In A Heartbeat" caught my attention very quickly. Hmmm...I thought, perhaps a nice romantic story to read this evening to lift my spirits and soothe my very tired soul after an extremely busy work day. So, I ventured to commence reading this 'new' story to The Athenaeum. WOW!!! I read...and kept on reading...not letting go...not wanting to. I was 'hooked' very early on in this very well written and delightfully entertaining romantic tale. It certainly had gotten my attention and I found myself wanting 'more' even after completing the last chapter. This story by Ms Nolan is certainly a wonderful sequel to her first story, "LA Metropolitan"...and in my estimation, much moreso. This fictional interlude is more poignant, more riveting, more romantic, and more thought provoking in many ways. But, all in all...it's a story of...and about...'the power of love'. My suggestion is for y'all to read this one. Why?! 'Cuz you're really gonna like it. You truly are...'Fer sure!!! Well done, Ms. Nolan...very well done. - ~Ag Sep 4th, 2003 |
What a moving, wonderful story! To all who still need closure for the show's ending -- a closure made even more necesary by the horror that was FIN -- this is it. - jerseygirl Sep 4th, 2003 |
Nice story. Engaging characters, very romantic and pretty interesting twists. Look forward to the sequels. Take care. - Emi Sep 4th, 2003 |
What a wonderful story Lynn Ames has shared with us. The characters of Kate and Jay are so well drawn you feel you know them. This is a great romantic tale that sweeps you along for an amazing ride. I couldn't stop reading. - EG Sep 4th, 2003 |
This was an absolute great story. Once I started I couldn't stop reading it. Because I'm a hopeless romantic, this story was right up my alley. To have your own hero is a wonderful thing. - Joy Sep 4th, 2003 |
This was a fantastic story. I was almost late to work, because I could not stop reading it. Lynn Ames offers a well written tale with wonderfully fleshed out characters. You will wish they were your friends. Kate and Jay are the cutest couple to come along in a while. I recommend this story to anyone looking for romance, angst, action, and just a good story to read. - Toni Sep 4th, 2003 |
Interesting story with very likeable characters. Liked watching them work out their wounds of past relationships and some of their own biases on butch-femme stereotypes. - Anonymous Sep 3rd, 2003 |
Have you ever read a story that you could not put down. Well this one is one of those. I loved every minute of it and will reread it again, but next time I will make sure I start early enough. Kate and Jay are great for one another and when you read it you will see the connection. I cannot wait to read more from this bard. FANTASTIC!! - T. Stratton Sep 3rd, 2003 |
Enjoyed the story. Must be hard to try to live a normal life in the public eye. Kate and Jay are compelling characters. I epecially enjoyed Fred- can he come over to play? Kate Lee - Kate Lee Sep 3rd, 2003 |
It's been said that a story can stay with you after you've closed the book, (or shut down the computer in this case), and this tale is that impactful. It's full of concepts I hadn't expected like criminal justice, archaeology, history, mythology, poetry, history and culture. It's also full of the mystical, (and yes it has modern politics too) and the romantic. One of the aspects I appreciated (but not the only one) was that the two main characters didn't 'jump into bed' by page 15. There was patience and confusion and angst. It wasn't easy for them, and that's as it should be. It's obvious to me that the author is Canadian, and seemingly proud of it. I think that's great, and I'm happy to see another Canadian stand so tall. I'm not sure that some Americans are going to enjoy a few spots in the story, but the overall plot is very well considered and it's easy to see how much research has gone into this tale. I loved this story. The tale and the characters have indeed stayed with me. I would certainly hope there might be a sequel, because I think it too could be a success. Thanks for such a great story. - Taleweaver Sep 3rd, 2003 |
The Price of Fame is a poignant page-turner that kept me up all night reading! Kate & Jay are well-developed, real life characters with whom I fell madly in love. The plot has many twists and turns and the author clearly knows how to spin a yarn. I can't wait for the sequel!! - Anonymous Sep 3rd, 2003 |
She shoots, she scores! Mayhem adds another great moment in every lesbian's life... or fantasy life *w* - E Sep 3rd, 2003 |
I really enjoyed this story. It's interesting to see the story from both perspectives. - Erica Sep 3rd, 2003 |
As always I always love to follow the adventures of Lara and Sarah. There was a lot of depth in this one though and I really liked seeing some layers with Lara, she has so much depth that Sarah helps her with that it makes me want more of this dynamic duo. - Bradie Sep 3rd, 2003 |
This story starts out with one of the more intriguing character introductions that I've read in an uber, and the sci fi plot is generally pretty interesting. The interaction between the two main protagonists is also nicely developed. The story would be improved by greatly reducing the gratuitous sexual exploitation and torture. (What's with all the breast slapping, anyway?) - Anonymous Sep 2nd, 2003 |
For the first time since giving the Charani Awards, we were faced with a real dilemma. Never before have we come across two tales that cry out for attention and both by the same author. It is for that reason that the The Charani Award for excellence for September 2003 will be given to Nene Adams for her two tales, The Sunne in Gold (159 pages) and its follow up tale, The Sunne in Scarlet (148 pages). Both stories are filled with such excitement and imagery that takes the breath away. This period piece not only has an intriguing plot and characters, but it includes a Palestinian Muslim as a central figure. Because of this, the Charani Award for Ethnic or Religious Diversity is given to Nene Adams for her TWO excellent tales.

Wonderful story, hope that there's a sequel to this work. Made me wish I had my own android. Please write more aobut DJ and Lexa. - Flamezfan Sep 2nd, 2003 |
I cant wait for the day to share a bodyshot with the one true thing in my life! er...was that a dounut? This shows such depth and feelings for the one true desire! Fight for it and it will be worth the wait on the bodyshot!Till next time my dearest,ME - DBCLASAB Aug 31st, 2003 |
This is one of the most erotic stories I have read in some time. The story draws the reader into the feelings of the main character. It is erotically suspenseful while waiting to see where the meeting will lead. Makes me want to find someone to have a body shot with. - ShadyLady Aug 30th, 2003 |
The Fallen is sadistic. If you like happy endings, stay far away from The Fallen's work. - Grommetik Aug 29th, 2003 |
I think its fantastic to watch Veba become more her self and Rickie guiding her in her own gentle way. Its fun to see what Veba reads but the part that really got to me was when Rickie got hurt and how Veba reacted that was amazing!!!! - Anonymous Aug 29th, 2003 |
The unfolding time line and stories where paced out well. I was pleased that the story wasn't forced into a direction before it was ready. This author has a good sense of pacing and letting the story come alive on its own. KG Macgregor has a flair for natural dialogue. And she is good with humor. I keep wondering if this will appear on the big screen? Do you do this for a living KG or is this a really well developed hobby? Either way I'm glad I found your work. CHEERS - nicky in durham Aug 28th, 2003 |
Uses 'Alice In Wonderland' type imagery. Gabrielle is naked and under the influence of 'shrooms. Gets really horny, and wants to get into a heavy petting session with...The White Rabbit. Funny, but I don't remember anything about any rabbits in the disclaimer... - Grommetik Aug 28th, 2003 |
Okay, that's not exactly what I'm going to rant about, but it close! My comments are directed at those people (you know who you are) who still do not have anti-virus software. This latest worm "W32.Sobig" has really shown that a lot of people in the
Xenaverse still refuse to protect themselves. How do we know? 100+ viruses sent to bardeyes2@xenafiction.net and webwarrior@xenafiction.net in the last week.
Although we never would presume to speak for other owners of the large Xena sites, I think can in this instance. Please do all of your friends a favor and purchase some anti-virus software. In our experience Norton Anti-Virus is the best. It's easy to install, and it automatically updates itself to keep your system safe. It also helps you control spam.
This was a very special story. I think the love of family is such a wonderous part of tale. I love Sandy and Mandy I hope there is more to come of this loving pair. - Anonymous Aug 26th, 2003 |
TERRIFIC! - Anonymous Aug 26th, 2003 |
O-MA-GAWD. I started reading this and got a kidney stone and still wanted to read. Okay the pain kept me from it. But my mind was wrapped up in the drama. (ok in unison-"freak!") This the first story I have read by KG MacGregor and I am very impressed with the GOOD, HIGH QUALITY, SUBTLE writing and storytelling. My favorite part is the little chapter end comments. RUH ROO is right! I will check in again after I have read every story posted. I highly recommend this authors work. - nicky in durham Aug 25th, 2003 |
Such a sweet work, it captures the longing and desire and fear so well of new love. A great young bard with very promising work - Sara Aug 24th, 2003 |
With the constant and diminishing availability of classic Xena/Gabrielle stories on the web lately, I always rely on re-reading the "old timers". Ms. Quince's stories are a favorite indulgence, superbly written and always satisfying. - Kaye Aug 24th, 2003 |
Oh, how I was sucked in. I don't usually read unfinished series or stories. It is just to hard for me to wait. I really like the smooth narration and the easy dialog. The beta readers and the writers are a GOOD match. All the characters were easy to keep up with. I know how hard this type of series is. I really want more about the Pathfinder. Kudos. - nicky in durham Aug 24th, 2003 |
I very much look forward to the next two parts. - SammyLee Aug 23rd, 2003 |
This is an excellent story about a runaway teenager that is finding acceptance & love in the world. The story is very well written by Doc and it also contains a bit of mystery/science fiction. I highly recommend it. - Red Hope Aug 23rd, 2003 |
You could tell that this was written from the heart. I liked it very much. Good work Wizzy. - Debbie Dee Aug 22nd, 2003 |
This story is just awesome!!! The suspense!! I was actually sweating while reading the last two parts. Take the time to read this, you won't be disappointed. - brave Aug 21st, 2003 |
Malicious Pursuit is fabulous!!! Tension, romance, intrigue, mystery, compassion, tenderness, friendship, love...all the good stuff we crave in our Ubers. I've been a KG fan since the Shaken-Stirred series, and Malicious Pursuit is definitely another jewel in her crown!!! Great job, KG!!! - Michelle Aug 21st, 2003 |
Kg Mcgregor is a great author. I read Road from Kilimanjaro and Shaken and I loved those stories. Malicious Pursuit is equal parts action, adventure and, yes, thriller. lol. OUT OF 10 I GIVE IT A 10. - Katia N. Ruiz Aug 21st, 2003 |
This takes my breath away. I hope you become one. - WLASAB Aug 21st, 2003 |
I'm very happy to announce that at long last, here it is! It is called A Thousand Shades of Feeling, and the blurb beneath the cover says "A perfect life is about to become anything but..."
I had a lot of fun writing this book, and I think you'll enjoy reading it. I've tried very hard to make it unlike any other story out there, and I've also tried to make it very attainable. If you're interested, I can recommend visiting the following page for a closer look at the cover, as well as an excerpt! If you're thinking about purchasing the book, you'll also find ordering information.
I certainly hope you'll be curious and intrigued enough to get a copy of your own. If you'd like your copy inscribed to you, just let me know and I'd be glad to do that. (Hint, it makes a great gift, too!)
Sincerely,
Carolyn (aka Tale)
This is probably the fourth time I've read this fan-fic. I must say that each time I enjoy it, but it carries different meaning depending on where I am in my own life. - Anonymous Aug 20th, 2003 |
sizzling! I love the way KG writes her PWPs. - E Aug 20th, 2003 |
Oh goddess! *moan* u know that ice bucket? try having a change of clothes nearby. - E Aug 20th, 2003 |
I enjoy anything that KG writes. I found this to be a bit different from her others. While there was tension at times in her other stories, this one kept me on the edge of my chair at times (and I still have the short finger nails to prove it!) It was a good read, and as the author predicted, I couldn't stop until the end. Well worth the time. - Prof Aug 20th, 2003 |
In a word, nice. Not goofy, sappy or lust-driven... a day with our warrior and bard getting closer to each other. - E Aug 19th, 2003 |
Awesome, awesome story. Was recommended to me from a friend and I tore through it in two nights - it was that good. Good characterizations, great supporting cast, not overly agnsty but not totally smooth sailing either. Brings forth some interesting philosophical ideas if the reader wants to spend the time really thinking, but in no means does the reader have to get deep to appreciate the plot. Absolutely wonderful tale - looking forward to a sequel. - ~ kimly Aug 19th, 2003 |
What a great story... War of the Vampires has a great cast of characters and a great storyline! Keep'em coming! - anonymous Aug 19th, 2003 |
Can't even describe how much I love this story. I felt as though that I had to read this story until it was finished because it was tremendous. Can't wait for the sequel. It should be great as the first one. I would recommend , no , I would WANT everyone to read this story because it is worth the read! - Meg Aug 19th, 2003 |
Whoohoo!!! Another one from Larisa ... this is one funny story and comes with another liquid warning. A must read for everyone. You rule, Larisa. Keep them comming!!! - Bacchus Aug 19th, 2003 |
Wow...Boo's Roo, this is hot stuff!!! Thanks for sharing it with all of us!!! Great job!!! - Doo Aug 18th, 2003 |
Don't be daunted by the title. This is an incredible fic with potential for a sequel and the author's future (I hope she will write more!) If you want a book for a read-a-way this is it. Best of all, the romance is strong amidst the action and discoveries. I enjoyed it tremendously. Big Star rating. - E Aug 16th, 2003 |
I loved this romantic sweet tale of love expressed through art from childhood. There were alot of twists but love won and I love that!!! - Danni Aug 15th, 2003 |
MUST READ!!! fantastic story of love and life and how it isnt always as easy as most fanfics make it out to be. Very romantic, very well written, fab ending and a sequel in the works. My all time favorite!! - graceh Aug 15th, 2003 |
I really liked this story. The plot was awesome and the characters didn't get carried away. [wink. wink. poke. poke. nudge. nudge.]There weren't too many parts I wasn't allowed to read. Good use of words, but not too complicated to read. My favorite line was "Can I get a wheelie chair for a frozen tater tot?" PS I wish you would write more stories without the characters getting 'carried away'. - Nanaabelle's Grandson Aug 15th, 2003 |
I just finished the whole Time Flies series. I really love the relationship between Lara and Sarah. It makes me realize how wrong the producers of the movies are. You hit the nail on the head with this series Ri, Sarah is the type that Lara would fall for. It was all well done and I loved this one alot. I especially loved how you tied up all the ends of Twelve. Fantastic Series!!!! - Danni Aug 15th, 2003 |
Larisa has done it once again!!! The Blues is a fantastic thriller/action/adventure/mystery/romance, and, last but not least, pure, unadulterated FUN, with a capital F!!! Excellently done, Larisa...please, please, please never stop writing!!! - Michelle Aug 15th, 2003 |
I've read A Thousand Shades of Success three times now, and the story gets richer each time. I enjoy the characters, the blood pumping action, the conflict and the skill that this story is told with. In one story there is romance, adventure, suspense and even a little bit of discord.I don't think I've ever read an Uber that had a demented teen as the "bad guy" and I love that character too! The actions scenes are well thought out, the secrets are real enough but not too "soap opera-ish", and there's a lot here to get excited about! I really enjoyed this and I'm going to tell the lists I'm on to read it! You'll like it, so go read it and let's swamp the bard with notes telling them what we think. Go read it! - Yancy Westheimer Aug 14th, 2003 |
It's Not every day that one comes across the beginning of what appears to be an excellent series that weaves action/adventure/angst/mystery/romance so well I look forward to the next story whenever it comes about. - SpeedReaders Aug 13th, 2003 |
Woo-Hoo!!! Larisa, you ROCK!!! And, so does Diablo's Island...wow!!! If you enjoy twists and turns, unforgettable characters, giggling out loud, and crying a few good tears, you'll enjoy this story...promise!!! Once again, Larisa, you've managed to make me cry real tears and laugh my ass off at the same time!!! Your stories never fail to lift my spirits and warm my heart...thank you, Larisa for all you've given all of us!!! Now, not to be greedy, but, can we have more, pleeeeeeease??? - Michelle Aug 13th, 2003 |
If only TPTB could come up with stuff this good! Black's Magic by MJ and Cephalgia is an absolute must read for anyone who enjoys a thoroughly captivating story. Murder, mayhem, espionage, kidnapping, a psychotic red-head, an ultra-secret government agency, a beautiful woman and her equally beautiful knight in shining armor make up only a fraction of what Black's Magic has in store for it's readers. Throw in a bit of humor and a handful of suspected traitors and you've got the best story I've read in a long time. Move over James Bond and Austin Powers because Addison Black is definitely working her magic and her mojo to rescue Skyler Tidwell and to save the world. - Kel Aug 13th, 2003 |
This was recomended by one of my fanfic groups and I'm so glad I read it! I had never heard of the movie or the bard but this was a fun and funny story. I am going to rent the movie now. I really loved the end. I will also read some other of this Bard's stories. I see other comedies on the list I think I'd like. - Lucie Aug 13th, 2003 |
THE BLUES wonderful thriller/humor story. Reminds me of "Coma". Just another reason to stay out of the hospital. lol. But then again if the doctors and nurses were like the ones in Larisa's story, I may just visit every once in awhile. - Sissy2757 Aug 13th, 2003 |
This is an excellent story. I absolutely love it. I can only agree with STUD here. Please...type a wee bit faster! Thanx! - socha Aug 12th, 2003 |
This story makes an excellent little break. Very short and very welcome. - Emi Aug 12th, 2003 |
LOVED IT READ IT:::NOW:(you need it) - SammyLee Aug 12th, 2003 |
Black's Magic captivates the reader from the very first chapter. There's action every second and, abounding in sarcastic witticisms...Out of ALL the espionage, etc (even Xena at her worst)....I've NEVER seen such fast, furious and deadly action. It took me a few minutes to realize I wasn't breathing and thought "I'd better do that if I want to catch the rest of the story". It's espionage at its finest combining the British secret, secret service and a scientist from America who thought she was creating a cure but, instead, found it could be the deadliest of chemical warfare to the enemy. Do Not miss this wonderful tale written by an American & British writer, Cephalgia and MJ. What could be better? - Agatha Tutko Aug 11th, 2003 |
This is a fantastic story...Even though I do not like vampire stories, this one captivated me until the end. Very well written. This author is very talented. Thank you, Inkubator, for sharing this interesting tale with us. - Summer Sun Aug 11th, 2003 |
Even for a non believer this story is very moving. - Anonymous Aug 10th, 2003 |
This an excellent piece of work. Very imaginative, highly captivating and sweetly romantic. Look forward to more! - Emi Aug 10th, 2003 |
This one has become a all time favorite of mine, the "crew" is at it again!! Even missed the train to work so I could read this! An it is well worth it! Rates right up there with "Lost." As always Larisa you have done it again...WYD!!! LMAO, lookin forward to the next story to hit the net! Only one problem the fonts are to small!:~) - Wizzy Aug 9th, 2003 |
Wowzer!!! Another hot, hot, hot summertime tale!!! Yummers!!! Agan, WE NEED RAIN in the Midwest, and Boo's Roo managed to capture the tension before a storm breaks so very well... Nicely done, Boo's Roo...may we have another, pleeeeaaase???? |

*******Very Important Notice********* You have to, i mean you really have to read this story it is the sweetest love story. It has taken Dreams a freakin' long time to finish this, and it is a long one. Dreams has an incredible talent with words, and a hooolarious sense of humour. just read it cos you won't be sorry. - Stephanie Aug 8th, 2003 |
I am so glad I was able to find this story here. I have read it twice. It was a rollercoaster ride that was lots of fun. A must read. - kayden Aug 7th, 2003 |
I have found that finding a Larisa story is like receiving a box of fancy chocolates. You say to yourself, “I’ll just put these aside for a special moment.” But the very thought of just having them somewhere preys on your mind. Taunting, tempting, seducing you. Next things you know you’re in a chocolate induced coma. Larisa’s stories are just like that. I think I have managed to go 5 hours after printing one up before I read it. Once I start reading, nothing else matters. The house could burn down for all I care. Don’t bother me, I’m reading LARISA !!!!! DIABLO’S ISLAND has everything to keep your attention. Half nekkid women walking around. South Sea island paradise. Sailing around the ocean blue on a yacht with the before mention nekkid women. I’m telling you, what more could a girl ask for. My favorite part was Gibbon sailing the yacht and keeping it on course, was priceless. - Sissy2757 Aug 7th, 2003 |
This story is AWESOME!!!!! Once you start reading you will not want to stop. The best thing is it's complete. Great characters (Julia and Kris) It's one of my favorites. I would urge everyone to read. - Anonymous Aug 7th, 2003 |
While not an entertaining story by any means, this writer gives us something far more mature. This is a powerful, well written tale with a very very important message - Anonymous Aug 7th, 2003 |
<Whimper>....ummm....uh..just recovering here after reading this lil ditty...heh Steamy is not the word for this tale...heh more like get the heat resistant suit out of moth balls..heh Whew!!!...will definately unleash the beast in you...hehe Great read once more BooDoo. - Boo's Roo Aug 7th, 2003 |
Wow.... indeed bring on the rain!! It may be short and compact, but what a wake this lil tale leaves behind...hehe Great work.. keep it up and give us some more...heh :) - Boo's Roo Aug 7th, 2003 |
Alright! I see this story as a movie. read it. You will see what I am talking about. - Jane Aug 6th, 2003 |
I had the pleasure of reading this story after editing and before re-posting. This is definitely Ms. Bauden's finest work. I found myself, laughing, crying, aching, smiling, and finally cheering for the main characters. The flashback scenes were heartbreaking to read. The love scenes are definitely hotttt. Ms. Bauden engages the reader to such an extent, the story cannot be put down until completed. I cannot wait to have this book on my shelf. - S. Lee Aug 6th, 2003 |
This was the first story I read by S. Anne Gardner and it is still my favorite. I'm so glad to see it finally posted to this site! You will not be disappointed by this story! - Jennifer Aug 6th, 2003 |
I thought this was such a sweet and lovely story. I really loved both Jackie and Dakota. I read the whole series and the last part broke my heart. It built beautifully to this wonderful ending. Wonderful job. - jillian Aug 6th, 2003 |
This story was definitely something. Whew!! Wait, let me compose myself here. LOL. The hint of mystery, the grinding, the growling.... |
Hot damn, what a story. All that rain and WETness. I know I had to wipe my mouth from the drool, and talk about being wet.....ahem, let's not go there. This is a great short read. Thank you BooDoo. You rock! - Alex the Cat Aug 5th, 2003 |
Oh yeah, we need rain...NOW!!! Heh...We're having a bit of a drought here in the Midwest, and boy howdy, I'm hopin' this story will bring on the release...er...relief...we need...heh. Good job, once again, BooDoo!!! Can we have more, purty, purty pleeeeeease??? |
Wow!!! This is one hot story!!! It may be short on words, but whew, it's loooong on steam!!! Just what we need to make the summer sizzle!!! Good job BooDoo!!! Oh, go ahead and read it, ya' know ya' wanna... |
One of the most wonderful love stories I have ever read. It will make you cry and smile on a rollercoaster of emotions. Without a doubt a must read! - Maria Aug 5th, 2003 |
After seeing the latest Tomb Raider flick and wishing Lara had had a cute little blonde as a sidekick, reading Ri's latest installment was just what the doctor ordered! I love Lara and Sarah and how they can communicate and how the relationship with Aries works. It's really nice seeing the God of War as an homage to Kevin Smith - Ri does a great job and it's a pleasure to see them all again! Thanks for an enjoyable read! - Anastacia Aug 5th, 2003 |
This is such a special and yet different love story. I found it really fascinating reading Hilda's thoughts. It's a very beautiful story. - Tanni Aug 5th, 2003 |

All I have to say is Larisa writes some of the best fic storys I've ever read. - TMc Aug 1st, 2003 |

After 21 months of research, L. Crystal Michallet-Romero has produced the finest FIN tale ever written! Crystal not only utilized her tremendous skills as a scholar to painstakingly research the history of the times, but she includes vast knowledge into the religious aspects of Islam, Hindu and Egyptian religions. When she promised us a roller coaster ride at the beginning of this tale, she was not kidding. The Curse of Higuchi brings out a wide range of emotions, and is filled with such depth and detail as to take your breath away. From the very first chapter, all the way to the end, I felt as if I was a part of the story. Even after I go back to re-read the story again, I come across so many details that were previously missed before. I have read every FIN story ever written, and I truly believe that COH will become the definitive tale for the continuation of X:WP. If TPTB are looking for a script for any future movies, they need not look further than COH. COH is a must read for all Xena Fans.
This story is a fantastic. The characters are wonderful and the plot is fantastic! This is a must read FN. - sterling Jul 30th, 2003 |
I'm trying to reach Angharad Governal (webmistress from the [A O C] site) to speak with her. Her previous earthlink email is no longer working so I am hoping somebody out there is in touch with her or knows somebody that is. If you could pass it around that I'd like to catch up with her, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thank you very much, ya'll.

This story is a special story of all of us who have done this to be who we truly are. Courage, yes it takes courage. Thank you to the author. - bookerT73 Jul 28th, 2003 |
I finished this story and feel chills all over me. This is a story that would make a thrilling movie or maybe suspense. I am going to recommend it as a must read. I will never forget it. - felicity146 Jul 28th, 2003 |

A love story with a twist. I liked all the places Ms. Gardner took us to in this story. I am amazed how she wove so many story lines and brought them together to gives us a surprise ending. Very well done. - Felicity146 Jul 28th, 2003 |
Before you read this story, make sure you have a bucket of ice next to you...=) - Honeybee Jul 28th, 2003 |
Well T, what can I say. You have outdone yourself in a very short story to capture the spirit of the group. Who knows maybe in the not too distant future we may all find ourselves in a similar situation as you discribed. What a hoot that would be. Thanks for helping make this story special for a very special friend. - NancyP Jul 28th, 2003 |
What can I say. This was written truly from the heart encompassing all the highjinks and pranks that I know for a fact have really taken place at least in our minds. DBC you done good. I am sure Big Bertha and CaseyJones would be right beside me cheering you on for the great job on your story. - NancyP Jul 28th, 2003 |
Mulligan, plus the three sequels to same, are all good reads. Lou and Marty are two characters, that once meet in the first story, will have you wanting to know what further unfolds for them in the three sequel stories. A series that is easy to recommend to 'you' to read, one that you will be glad that you have. - affr Jul 28th, 2003 |
I love this story. I recommend it to everyone. - Monti Jul 27th, 2003 |
This is a must read story. It is a story that gets under you skin and never, never leaves you. Falling in love is dangerous if you fall in love with a beautiful woman who has everything and finds herself in true love for the first time. Read it, you will love it. - Monti Jul 27th, 2003 |
The Growing is one of my favorite ongoing stories. Set in the future, it tells of a fight for survival. It is an expert blend of sci-fi and drama. Published weekly, I have grown to care for the characters and what happens to them. There is even a wonderful dog, Asimov. This is great storytelling and I always look forward to the next chapter with anticipation. - Carole H Jul 27th, 2003 |
I loved this story. Its funny and sad and sweet and succinct, excellent balance of love and angst. The paragraph beginning with "I loved you then ..." is one of the best, most perfect, most achingly beautiful words ever. Fantastic work. - Emi Jul 27th, 2003 |
Still one of my favorites. Well worth the read. - Leslie Jul 26th, 2003 |
Great story. Is there more to it? It has captivated my attention and I would like to read more of it. - sally Jul 26th, 2003 |
[Fan Fiction Editor's Note: The link to Code Blue has been updated. Thanks, Summer Sun!] You can find "Code Blue" at the writer's website: www.katlynfic.com. There are 31 chapters posted so far. - Summer Sun Jul 25th, 2003 |
I have been waiting eagerly for the next updates to this story cannot wait until this one is finished |
What a sweet, romantic story. Will we see more about these characters? Please? - Kate Jul 25th, 2003 |
I absolutely LOVED Indiscretions and Ab Initio. I haven't had a chance to read Provenance yet, but I'm really looking forward to it. Hope you have another story planned!! I've read many of stories on this site, and your stories are some of the best I've read. Thanks for sharing your stories with us!! For those of you that haven't read these stories yet, you really need to check them out! Wonderful!! - Laura Jul 24th, 2003 |
Currently undergoing revision this work in progress begins at the end of the third season, Sacrifice 2, and is the author's attempt to resolve several threads left dangling in the televised series to that point. Many of these are laid out by the author in a detailed forward and include Gabrielle's fate, and the aftermath of the opening sequence of The Bitter Suite. Not heavy on action, but strong on emotions, as the author leads you through twists and turns of fate, Amazon culture and law. - John S Gerow Jul 24th, 2003 |
Whoa! What a story! This one would have done the "Twilight Zone" TV series proud...very proud. It's an awesome fictional tale that will hold the reader spellbound and thoroughly entertained at the same time. It certainly catches the reader's attention. Once you start out to read this one...you will not want to stop...even after the last sentence has been read. Once you read this story...you'll understand what I mean. And what a thrill you're in for when the finale catches you unaware. This is one story I shall be reading time and time again. Why? Because it's that good! This writer knows her craft and has, indeed, done very well for herself. //Ag - Anonymous Jul 23rd, 2003 |
The invaiable mark of wisdom is to see the miraculous in the common.RWE - captkim Jul 23rd, 2003 |
We finished this story today and all of us agree it is one of S. Anne Gardner's best. It has brought out so many feelings in each of us. We agree that when a story can do that, that it is a winner. Thank you S. Anne Gardner. This is a must read. - Felicity146 Jul 23rd, 2003 |
Julia and Teddy live through all the fears of real life. What can go wrong will. Their love for one another gets them through the worst but will it be enough when an old love steps in? Read it. You will be surprised. - Paticakes Jul 23rd, 2003 |
What a great story. It is a tear jerker with a very happy ending. I recommend every one to read it and to also have a hanky on hand. - Jane Jul 23rd, 2003 |
Another hit from Larisa ... keep them commin' girl, we love ya!!! - Bacchus Jul 23rd, 2003 |
A story to read to see what sorts of things can come to be, once a ship has set to sea. - affr Jul 23rd, 2003 |
This was an excellent fanfiction! It pieces a lot of things together. I also love what happens to Aphrodite at the end. I highly recommend this one to any reader. - Red Hope Jul 22nd, 2003 |
One might be tempted to call this story 'Poetry In Writing', as it is captivatingly crafted and told with a good sense of timing, character, and sensuality. This is definitly one of the few stories I've read more than once, even though it is not yet finished. And I only hope we will not be left hanging in the middle. The main characters are fascinating for themselves and as a couple, and the author makes really good use of some other interesting and endearing characters throughout the story. Background, setting, family, friends, past and present are nicely interwoven, and the dynamics leave you wishing for the next update. - annika Jul 22nd, 2003 |
If you've ever completely lost yourself to someone who couldn't return your love, you're going to think Cephalgia has seen inside your heart. This triumphant tale is well-written, and packed with the emotional detail usually found only in longer, character-rich stories. Great job. - KG MacGregor Jul 21st, 2003 |
For many years, I have been reading fanfiction and in more recent times, uber stories. I enjoy the efforts the authors put into their work, but rarely have time to sit down & write to any of them. (I read everything I find, so that is a lot of authors!) Between a career, a family, and RL (Real Life), I am just happy to have time to visit the sites and read the stories. So in order to do a "Feed the Bards", I will have to do it in bulk. I am a writer as well, feedback means a lot to encourage future efforts, so KUDOS TO ALL OF YOU!!!! This includes those who run the many quality fictions sites out there. KUDOS! - M. Rutman |
I recommend this story to every one who loves a well written love story that makes you feel as if you are the one being written about. S. Anne Gardner involves us in her stories. We become part of the cast and that makes the story claim a part of us. Excellent read. - Monti Jul 20th, 2003 |
humm can it be possible for you to type faster? you know I dont EVER read a story thats not completed and seems like you have left me hanging once again! this is the best one yet my Princess! Loving every word of it so far! I can only see one MAJOR problem here, your not gettin it done fast enough!lol, keep up the good work Princess ya FT! will Bailey do what I think she is gonna do??LMAO DOH dont dare say more or it will spoil the fun for the rest of them!Looking for more soon! - Stud Jul 20th, 2003 |
I recommend this story to every one. It is a very good read. Thank you S. Anne Gardner - Jane Jul 19th, 2003 |
I also want to thank S. Anne Gardner for writing such fantastic stories and sharing them with us. I recommend "For the Love of a Woman," and I also want to recommend "An Affair of Love." We cannot get to the link to "An Affair of Love." We could about a month or so ago but not any longer. Where do we go? - Paticakes Jul 19th, 2003 |
A group of us decided to do an S. Anne Gardner marathon this weekend. "Cold and Lonely Work of Art," is one of our favorites. It kind of reminds us of "Seduction of Laura," which we would like to read also in this marathon. Thanks S. Anne Gardner - Kayden711 Jul 19th, 2003 |
S. Anne Gardner is one of my favorite bards. I love the way she writes. It has been an S. Anne Gardner fanfiction day for us here. We started with "For The Love of A Woman," followed by "Cold and Lonely," and just finished "Till There Was You." We are still continueing to read this bards stories. We can't pick just one as a favorite, they all are. Thank you S. Anne Gardner for sharing your talent with us. - Sally Jul 19th, 2003 |
I spend a lot of my spare time reading so there are stories that I cannot even remember the names of. This is not one of them. Daughter of Egypt is an engaging read that you are sure to enjoy. I did. - Hunter Daniels Jul 19th, 2003 |
You call this Drama??? I almost killed my computer cause I was drinking Coke while reading ... DON'T DO THAT!!! KEEP LIQUID AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER WHILE READING DAY WALKER!! ... just some advise ;) This one is just too damn funny ... I love it!! Keep it up Larisa, you're the best!!!!!!!!! - Bacchus Jul 19th, 2003 |
A great story, check it out, you will be glad that you did. - affr Jul 19th, 2003 |
If you haven't read Mavis' stories...run! don't walk! Read them all...post haste! This bard knows how to write a romance! - brandyjenn Jul 18th, 2003 |
Another story by Larisa...what can one say...EXCELLENT!! Read it! - SammyLee Jul 18th, 2003 |
Winner of the Intrepid Story Challenge, June 2003. Larisa has managed once again to totally ambush us with a great story. My recommendation to you is…JUST READ IT! - SammyLee Jul 18th, 2003 |
There is only one thing more that a reader could possibly want out of this story. For it to be longer and have many, many sequels. Larisa sure knows what she's doing! - SammyLee Jul 18th, 2003 |
I loved this sequel but it made me hungry for more. I loved watching Veba grow and learn. I can't wait to read the next installment to find out what happend next. Um, when are you posting it Ri? - Tani Jul 18th, 2003 |
Melissa Good is an exceptional talent. She magically weaves her tales leaving the reader breathless, excited, glad, sad and completely in love with the characters. She is a multi-karat diamond... Only one problem with Champion - Can't get linked to Chapters 10 & 11. - Anonymous Jul 17th, 2003 |
Because you are a beautiful person inside and out Wizzy, I know this story has to be true! Also knowing how people in P-town can be, bless you for trying to make it a more beautiful place. In the days that we are living in today, sometimes it's hard to find a reason to smile, we all need someone to remind us to smile once in awhile. Keep the stories coming... they're wonderful! When shall I see them in paperback? hehe I guess this website will just have to do. - Shannon Jul 17th, 2003 |
Love it. I want more of it. Lisa, write more to this story. - saxdya Jul 16th, 2003 |
A friend recommended this story to me with high praise. I have read it and agree that it is a beautiful love story that stays with you. Does it end here or is there more? - felicity146 Jul 16th, 2003 |
I like the story line here. It has adventure, love and mystery. I want to know if Taya and Barbra will make it. - felicity146 Jul 16th, 2003 |
Marvelous story. Absolutely marvelous. - pinky234 Jul 16th, 2003 |
The Charani Award for excellence for July 2003 has been presented to Eveh
This is brilliant. Radically different to her usual style, which I have to admit, that, like a recent comment stated, I'm not really a fan of. I find the supporting "lunatic fringe" characters irritating and un-realistic, too. I realise that these are the very things that draw a lot of readers to Larisa's stories so I won't knock them, they're just not to my taste. This story however was very much to my taste. I hope there's a sequel, (it did say to be continued!). Well worth a read! - Zero Jul 16th, 2003 |
Veba and Rickie are a breath of fresh air. I just loved them. It was nice to read a romantic uber with such an interesting twist. Thanks for the great read! - Tani Jul 15th, 2003 |
Great story but is there more? I've read through part5 is there a part6? - tyler Jul 15th, 2003 |
An unusually well-constructed mystery, entwined with a sweetly ironic and touching romance, set in a world that's intriguingly different, yet familiar. Written with great attention to detail and subtle humor, the characters are well-drawn and engaging, the plot completely convincing. I couldn't put it down. - Barbara Buncle Jul 15th, 2003 |
I loved it , but then I have all of hers. The goofy characters she comes up with and the situations keeps me in stiches - can't get enough of the goofy ones they just add to the story. If ever I am looking for something to read I just grab a Larisa story. Keep up the good work for I will read them all. - Linda Jul 14th, 2003 |
Hey I loved it..It was so cool.. I don't want to give any spoilers.. All I can say Is I can't wait until she writes another one... This one is awesome... - TinyLynae Jul 13th, 2003 |
I have to say this was by far one of the best sci fi stories I have read in a very long time. Once I started I couldn't stop reading and read this story in one sitting. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would love to see more of this author's work. - Peg Jul 13th, 2003 |
I must say I really do enjoy Larisa's stories very much. She has the ability to draw the reader into her story and keep them riveted to the screen. That being said I have but one criticism. The main characters are usually very likable and believable, but then the two goofy friends are always thrown in and they just completely detract from the story. I can't help but find them irritating and have to roll my eyes at their antics. I mean come on they don't act at all like real people do (well at least any people I have EVER met in my life). I personally enjoy being able to relate to the characers and they are simply impossible to relate to. This is just a personal opinion, of course. I would like to see Larisa turn her considerable talents towards writing something with more depth and emotion rather than finding new outrageous situations to throw these two annoying creatures into. - Peg Jul 12th, 2003 |
Do we still have the Ice Awards? This story sure has one. This story is HOT! - secretpop Jul 11th, 2003 |
A taste of Old Egypt plus Kipling-esc reminiscences plus romantic love make this tale an exiting read, done by a talented author. Not a new story, but one of my alltime favourite ones, that I love to reread once in a while. Don't miss it! - Lesley Jul 11th, 2003 |
Now this is the kind of romance that life should be filled with. S.Lee has written a beautifully sensuous memoir, if you will, in "Letter to My Lover". It will definitely warm your heart. Great job! - Di Bauden Jul 11th, 2003 |
Damn, woman you're good. You should write sequels for some of your stories. I would love reading one of Blue Calm. Please, don't ever stop writing!!!! You're way to good!!!! - Bacchus Jul 11th, 2003 |
Yup, I gotta agree with the rest. This was one bloody funny piece of work. I've never read a more smartass, hysterical story in my life. Awesome fanfiction! - Red Hope Jul 8th, 2003 |
In A Letter to My Lover, S. Lee has posted a PWP perfect for summer-time reading...short, sweet, and definitely hot, hot, hot!!! Whew!!! Thanks, Ms. Lee, I really needed that!!! - Michelle Jul 8th, 2003 |
I love Star Trek Next generation and its fun to see how they relate with the ancient times of Xena and family. A wonderfully woven tale that brings these two great casts together. Thanks for the great read! - Fran Jul 8th, 2003 |
Larisa's Amazon "wrecking crew" is alive and well and up to just as much, or more, mischief, as always!!! Their little piece of rural America is turned upside down and sideways as the four women plow their way through life on the farm, barn raisings, and the breaking of a possible arson ring. As always, with Larisa's tales, you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll sit on the edge of your seat, then you'll laugh some more. Great job, Larisa!!! - Michelle Jul 7th, 2003 |
[This Comment contains spoilers.] Thank for a great story...it was sad but true...you never know what you had until you've lost it. This was a great story - didn't like that Alexa had to die but not all stories have happy ending.. I should know...But thank you for your story and hope you don't stop writing...That was a great story...Again, thank you. - Rita Garcia Jul 6th, 2003 |
This is a really interesting look at the aftermath of Antony and Cleopatra. It made me cry and I felt even more love for my fave duo!!! - Jilian Jul 6th, 2003 |
I have read this story many times. When I want something to read I come to this story. It has it all. Power, lust, greed, secrets and love. Being in a foreign land for an american these days is dangerous enough but to be in lust and find that it has become an all comsuming love at a time when all odds are against you and with a woman who can make or break you is the real danger here. - TVVLQZ Jul 4th, 2003 |
Well, after reading this J&M fanfiction, I certainly had to throw my two cents of comments into the pile. I ain't read a J&M fanfiction in a few nor really seen any. MacGregor weaves an awesome plot and manages to throw some Amazons into it all. She also brought up a huge social standard issue during the 1940's that you don't see in many J&M fanfictions. Needless to say, this J&M story hit my favorite list! Excellent fanfiction. - Red Hope Jul 3rd, 2003 |
Excellent, easy to read. - Anonymous Jul 2nd, 2003 |
J.A. Bard has outdone herself in this, the sequel to 'Merkers Outpost.' In creating Arnica, this author has created an incredibly diverse and rich planet full of its own brand of mysticism and power that is quite unique and imaginative. She draws you in to its wonder as it draws in the participants from the previous tale and meshes them wonderfully into an even greater tapestry. I can't wait to see what happens in the next sequel! Brava!! An intriguing and wonderful SciFi/Fantasy for everyone! - J. Bradley Jul 1st, 2003 |
WOW!! What a great story! I feel like I too have been on the quest for Kili now, every grueling bit of it! KG has done an excellent job here! And it is a sweet tale of love discovered and learning what is important and dealing with choices. This is a 'must read' tale for everyone to enjoy and learn from! - Anastacia13 Jul 1st, 2003 |
