Welcome to the Athenaeum's archive of lesbian fiction and fan fiction. Our archive lists 6966 works from 1592 authors, with 522 of those works available in eBook format. The Athenaeum was last updated Wednesday, September 7th, 2016.

While this site was created in 1996 to focus on original fiction and Xena fan fiction, it has grown to welcome all other fiction and fan fiction including Star Trek, Law & Order, Stargate, Birds of Prey, and several dozen others. Moreover, nearly half the fiction on The Athenaeum is all Original, and not related to any fan universe at all. A complete list can be found on our Advanced Search page, and we always welcome fan fiction from new universes. While the vast majority of our fiction is lesbian oriented, we do have some general fiction in our collection as well.

Need some help finding a good story? Our What's New page is a good place to find out what's being written currently and what people are enjoying as well. Take some time to explore our site. There are thousands of wonderful works listed here. Always remember to e-mail the author when you finish reading a tale to thank them for sharing their work with you.

On The Athenaeum you'll also find a Forum, Story Ratings, and a little 'bookmarking' tool called Bookshelf. The Bookshelf is useful for saving those great titles you know you'll read again, or collecting a reading list for a later date. Just added in 2009 is a personal Watched Story list that allows you a mark a story and receive a notice on our What's New page when that story is updated.
