For the past two weeks, Branson Mahoney had been trying to catch the person who had been destroying equipment, materials and causing her building project to come to a screeching halt. Now with the backers breathing down her neck and her employees ready to quit, she took it into her own hands to find the culprit. Callaway J. Kuhrt made her way towards the trailer to make sure that no one was sleeping inside. Over the past two weeks, she had watched from a distance and then come into the site under the cover of darkness. What will happen these two finally met up? They will change each other forever, and teach everyone a thing or two about about what women can do. ;-) A fun and infirmative read!

99. Alex P.'s X&G tale The Keeper of My Soul -- Always (86 pages) has finished 3 times on our Top-25 list.

Due to the natures of their callings Xena and Gabrielle are forced to separate for a time to take care of pressing duties. They agree to meet in a minor river port called Ciros in a few weeks. Tall, blue-eyed Largo Coogan, was having her first weekend off in weeks and she planned on spending it fishing at the Shenandoah River. Little did she know that she would run into Garrison Dexter...both literally and figurately. The little blonde would turn her world upside down and then some.

Winner of the Intrepid Story Challenge, June 2003. Larisa has managed once again to totally ambush us with a great story. My recommendation to you is…JUST READ IT! - SammyLee  Jul 18th, 2003

Sometimes fate has to hit you between the eyes to get your attention. Garrison Dexter and Largo Coogan certainly find this to be the case in this hilarious Larisa tale. Add to that a crazy cousin complete with the voices in her head and costumes to match, and some rather unorthodox breast enhancements, and you have another winner!!! You go, Larisa!!! - Michelle  Jun 23rd, 2003

Get ready to meet Memphis Belle and Luka and go Cajun in this tasty tale by the Mistress of Maybem and Weird Relatives! You will re-write what you know about vampires and roll on the floor laughing in this very funny and sometimes violent gem set in Mardi Gras country, where romance...ahh...Sprouts, and the characters are out of this world...literally! ;-)

I am not a person that likes vanpier storys or the likes of them but this one rely made me se the light. It has clas and stile and I say Larisa sure is better then Ann Rise...Well I faver Larisas storys anyway.Thumbs up.. fangs down. - SammyLee  Jan 4th, 2004

Kudos to Larisa!!!! I can't wait for Larisa's next story. It seems like it has been weeks since this author has posted any new stories. I feel the main component of her stories is her ability to make the characters three-dimensional. I also appreciate that the dialogue in her stories flow giving depth to the characters, even the bizarre characters that she utilizes for comedy relief. A story that really captured my interest was "Day Walker". I'd like to know if Larisa plans to write a sequel to "Day Walker"? Maybe the new antithesis can be demons or Lupines. Thanks Larisa! I stayed up reeeeal late one night reading this, and it was sooo worth it! This is a fabulous story! I don't know which I found more enchanting... Sprout or Mama. Larisa has outdone herself with this one. I loved it! Thanks for the laughs. - Taleweaver  Dec 16th, 2002

Good God, i havent laughed so hard (or needed a bucket of ice soo badly) in a LONG time! This is a great story! both for the plot and the nutso characters! - Wind  Dec 10th, 2002

I've come to the conclusion that Larisa should be certified as a nut case. She has the strangest characters in her stories and IT WORKS! I love the little ones Sprout and Lia! She may have been MIA for a while but she came back with a WINNER! I laughed until I couldn't breathe, keep up the great work. - Dancer  Dec 10th, 2002

One word...Sprout!!! This newest offering from Larisa had my partner rolling on the floor and the dog questioning our sanity we laughed so much. ;-) To the author: Fangs for the memories! (you may gag at that or write another story whichever you choose.) - Kay  Dec 5th, 2002

Since Larisa hasn't written in a while, she has definately came out with something worth the wait. A DAMNED good story if I say so myself. One that I actually have read twice. The characters are so funny and every bit as perverted as the ones in her other stories. Good reading and recommend it to anyone who needs a good laugh. Good job Larisa and keep up the good work!! ^_^ - Anonymous  Dec 4th, 2002

Brandy Chancellor had just inherited a dilapidated house she from her late aunt. The yard looked like a hay field waiting to be cut and bailed, and every window in the place was either broken completely, out, or cracked so bad it needed to be replaced. A construction worker, she decides to make it her home, and gets some unexpected help from her enigmatic and mysterious neighbor, Rowan.

This was the first Larisa story I read. I was pretty sick last week so I re read this story and it made me feel much better. It is a fascinating story of tragedy and triumph with a nice twist at the end. One of earlest and still one of my faves:) - Ri  Dec 31st, 2003

89. A.K. Naten's alternative pre 20th century Original/Über Second Son (23 pages) has finished 5 times on our Top-25 list.

Deception, heartache, and twists of fate complicate feelings and alter futures, and relationships struggle between bouts of love and despair.

Excellent! This is going to be a whopper of a romance. Naten does it again. Please finish..soon!! Like "Turning Tides", I am sure this one will blow us away. Love this writer and boy oh boy will I be checking every day to see new installments.Wonderful. - Califa  Sep 29th, 2004

85. Kim Baldwin's alternative Original/Über Whitewater Rendezvous (33 pages) has finished 2 times on our Top-25 list.

Honors/Awards: Top-25 #1.
Forced together during a wilderness adventure on a remote Canadian river, a shy and solitary kayak guide does everything she can to fight her inexplicable attraction to one of her clients—a workaholic redhead who seems to invite disaster wherever she goes.

Nice story but could have been better if Kim had taken more time to give it more body. It has potential to become a much better story if the characters are given more depth, there is more intrigue and the action is more intense. But I suppose she wanted to just keep it short. Pity though. Still, It's just right to read in bed just before you go to sleep. It's fun, pleasant, not too exciting or "angstfull" to give you bad dreams and short enough to finish before lights out.
Restfull. - letterwolf  Apr 20th, 2004

Honors/Awards: Perennial Favorite Award:#9 in 2002.
This story tells of the perils that Levi Straussenhofer endures while trying to find the 'One' to make her life complete. She answers the personal ads in the newspaper and suffers nightly with the freaks that show up and are nowhere near how they describe themselves in their ad. Then one night while trying to escape a date from Hell, she literally runs into a pair of leather-clad legs under the table next to her. Ice blue eyes capture her - this could be the 'One.' The only problem is that she believes that the tall woman is...well, you'll see...it's one of the things in her ad she wants nothing to do with!

Well I absolutely agree with the previous entries. It's funny, it's fresh. What are you waiting for? Go on and read! - lectra  Aug 5th, 2004

A SciFi/Fantasy tale where the lives of two people entwine to continue a Dynasty based on Love and Honor. I don’t do angst so there is none and I’m a mushball at heart, read at your own risk.

Excellent story, well worth reading over and over! I would love to see a sequel about the second generation! - Sandy  Apr 4th, 2004

Extraordinary story. Tas is a very imaginative bard with excellent writing skills. Her characters and plot are well defined. This is an extremely well written story, which made the sweet plot even more enjoyable for reading. I can't wait to read more from this author. - Dimples  Nov 21st, 2003

This comment contains spoilers.
Well-written story, but frankly it was just plain mean after a while. I wanted to smack Jack for stringing along Sonny. I wanted to smack Sonny for being willfully stupid and cheating on her girlfriend with someone she'd never even met face to face. I kept wondering if someone really could be that naive.

I just couldn't wait to finish it to see how much more stupid Sonny was going to get. Not to mention how long it would take Sonny to grow up and see that Jack put her out of business on purpose. She's supposed to forgive & forget and then fall in love with her after that? I know this is fiction, but really!

This is my first time commenting on a story and all I can say is, what an absolute awsome story!!! Not since the Billie and Cat series by KD Bard has a story and its characters, totally captured me. It kept me glued to my PC for hours. I have never seen the movie, but I am betting that Ambrosia's rendition blows the movie away. I would pay great money to see this one in production. I am hoping to see a series of stories based on all of the characters. - Anonymous  Nov 4th, 2003

Lonnie Bestrolie had been entertaining passengers on the galactic cruise liners for 19 years. and she enjoyed it. By keeping a tight control of her privacy, she avoided stardom and unwanted publicity. So why on her 20th year, would she accept a deal to end her contract two years early just to nursemaid a fallen diva?

This is a great story! Enjoyed this one very much. I hope for a sequel soon. - L'Nara  Oct 13th, 2004

Terri Bledsoe is very angry when Anthony Leone leaves, leaving her very pregnant. As a last resort, she visits Noemí Leone, the head of Leone Pasta Enterprises. When Noemí learns of her brother's misdeed, she offers a helping hand. Follow this chronicle of Noemí as she moves from an alcoholic haze and into a friendship that could give her life more meaning.

I found the author's site and story by chance a couple of years ago, before she started posting here.
The basic premise is tangled - Noemi takes on the role of carer for her brother's ex-gf who is pregnant with his child. This story could have fallen apart in so many ways but the writer forges strongly ahead with every chapter. The focus and thread of the story is firm. There are sub-plots shoring the main couple nicely. The supporting characters are interesting; ranging from sleazy, benign, righteous to warm, funny and sexy.
Best of all (!), is the tortured soul herself, Noemi. Her character resounds with angst, anger, power, sadness and is oh, so very sexy. In my view, the earlier version of this story was much more powerful in it's rawness and sensuality but the revision has smoothed out some edges and added more to the surroundings. Personally, I think it detracts a little from Noemi's edgy characterisation but the story still remains one of my favourites.
The story moves very quickly from the start, we feel the restrained primality of Noemi and we learn about her family and personal demons. We are easily caught up in her activities and the story actually picks up heat the further it runs (note: glacier warning!). Terri is her catalyst for healing and loving again and her best friend's romance deserves a separate story of it's own.
Noemi is on my personal Tops list, I pull it for a good angsty, dramatic and erotic romance.

Brilliant work, Ms Ruiz. - E  Sep 23rd, 2004

I totally loved this story!! Katia N. Ruiz did a BEAUTIFUL job in this story. Battle between lost love and finds in totally different person. I loved how Noemi endure the loss of her beloved, find Terri, a lonesome person carry the baby of her bastard brother. How they both over came their agruement; their will of their own lives, and stands together as one. How they have friends, family that truely loved them.
I loved how close Noemi's mother and father are close to one another, and her best friend, Victoria. She stand by for her friend, Noemi, and guide her to her trouble times. I'm crossing my fingers for the next seaqual to this exciting story.
Thanks Katia, for your for love of writing. Keep it up. - Bay  Dec 13th, 2003

I owe this author an apology for when I first saw the word "revision" and the amount (55) of additional pages, I knew she'd ruined a perfectly good story. My bad. Ms. Ruiz, you have turned a good story into a great one. - Kaye  Mar 4th, 2003

What can one say...? It was and is a great story.
When will the sequel be posted?
I am egerly wating for next part - SammyLee  Feb 23rd, 2003

This is the 2nd story I've read by this talented bard and it's a great story with just the right mix of drama, angst and love. I love a story with well written secondary characters and this author has done that and more with "Noemi." Well written and well done. - Kay  Dec 26th, 2002

An absolute fabulous work of art, and yes, I mean art. The way Ms. Ruiz described the events in this story is amazing. She gave in-depth detail of the surroundings, giving the reader a clear picture, almost as if one was watching a movie. Once I started reading the story, I couldn’t stop. In some parts, I was on the edge of my chair, chewing my nails. The best story I have read in a very long time.

Just wanted to give a comment on my favorite story, Noemi. Folks this is a wonderful story about two women coming together through adversity. One realizing that she can love again, and the other realizing that she is worthy to be loved. I have read the story 'numerous', ok over 20 times and I love it more each time I read it. You should read this story, and be sure to let Katia know what you think. - Tonya Coley  Oct 15th, 2002

68. Alex Tryst's alternative Original/Über Finding Herself (50 pages) has finished 4 times on our Top-25 list.

Life was just as the Honorable Dr. Reagan Elizabeth Charleston wanted it. She was 30-something, well off and a Judge. All was right with the world until a minor fender with a sweet, young, blonde student.

67. Devize's alternative Original/Über Misplaced People (98 pages) has finished 6 times on our Top-25 list.

What’s the connection between drug dealers, a missing woman, council business, Welsh architecture and Sleeping Beauty? Striker might have made a connection between two of them... But she came to London to forget and to hide... and to seek. She had other riddles to solve. But an encounter at a hospital’s Accident & Emergency department turns her priorities, her life and her heart upside down.

We meet Morien and Striker who will fall in love as will the readers with these two opposites. Guess which is tall & blue eyed! A story that is kind of sweet, but has danger, flight, bad guys, mystery all entwined with a soulmate love tale with some pitfalls. Dialogue is really good and descriptions of places, feelings and actions are so full of depth that you feel like a part of it. Hated to see it end & hope Devize writes a sequel. I miss Morien & Striker. - Sandy  Jul 7th, 2004

Brilliant! This is an absolute corker of a story. I'm giving it 6.5 stars. Devize has written an astounding tale which has a great whodunitcatchthebadguys plot interspersed with a strong romantic thread and replete with angst.

The story will hook you and the revealing gems about our heroines will knock your socks off. Devize also kept me in a constant state of arousal by her teasers.

This is a hot one, folks. It has everything in an explosive fairytale romance for our uber couple. - E  Jun 11th, 2004

This is one of the most beautifully written stories I have read in quite a while. Between the bad guys, a missing person, drugs, and other mysterious happenings, you will find a cleverly crafted story built around 2 characters you will fall in love with as you watch them fall in love with each other. This author uses her words to create visions that dance in your heart and paint for your soul. You will want to visit where these girls go, cheer for them, cry & sigh as their relationship grows and they come face to face with their fears, real or imagined. Bumpy roads, tears, and a sweet tenderness as well as some humor. The scenery is gorgeous and when words can create that in your mind, you gotta love this story and the creativity of this writers efforts. Book of the month? Maybe, but it is definitely my choice for Chocolate of the Month between two covers. - O Ger  Jun 7th, 2004

This story was AWESOME!!! A MUST READ for all! It puts together just the right amount of mystery, danger and romance all rolled up in one. Her characters draw you in straight away. It is about a woman trying to find someone. She searches high and low but realizes her search ends where it began with finding herself.
I can't tell you enough how good this story is. Check it out for yourself. :o) - Caden  Jun 7th, 2004

66. DS Bauden's alternative Original/Über Nurturing Souls (117 pages) has finished 5 times on our Top-25 list.

This is the kind of story that will keep DS Bauden on bookshelves for years to come. It has emotion, passion, mystery, suspense, revenge - good girls, bad girls - everything you could want. It's very well written and the revised edition shows great attention to detail in developing these characters. Di has done a wonderful job of making Sydney more Australian. She's made the story significantly longer and the added material makes the story more complete. In all honesty, the revisions Di has made to this story have turned Nurturing Souls from my least favorite of her books to one I will now eagerly and wholeheartedly recommend. - Anonymous  Jul 21st, 2004

O-MA-GAWD. I started reading this and got a kidney stone and still wanted to read. Okay the pain kept me from it. But my mind was wrapped up in the drama. (ok in unison-"freak!") This the first story I have read by KG MacGregor and I am very impressed with the GOOD, HIGH QUALITY, SUBTLE writing and storytelling. My favorite part is the little chapter end comments. RUH ROO is right! I will check in again after I have read every story posted. I highly recommend this authors work. - nicky in durham  Aug 25th, 2003

Detective Xepher Sallano, trying to solve what appear to be serial murders, keeps running into dead ends...literally. Then the Medical Examiner dies in the midst of the inverstigation, and his replacement is makes Sallano see red. It's hate at first sight for Chief Medical Examiner Brianna Meadows, too. Or is it? As the murders get more gruesome, Detective and ME find themselves involved...in more ways than one. This is another of Larisas' gripping tales with unconventional characters, laughs, love and gore, that will keep you spellbound.

I agree, there is gore galore but I like a story with grit so I was interested right away. I just read it in it's entirety, it's simply wonderful. I can see a Bone Collector 2 with Angelina here ... or is that wishful thinking? It would be a shame if you bypassed it simply because the graphic scenes may disturb you for it's got one of my highest ticks of approval. - Corbeau's Voyager  Dec 1st, 2003

Xepher? Guess those "X" names are kinda hard to come by, huh? Once I got past that, and the fact that parts of it are REALLY gory, I quite enjoyed it. - Mich  Sep 14th, 2002

In this romantic Uber, Rosie had only been at the job for a very short time and she was doing well as junior in accountant in the prestigious accounting firm. In prior positions she always fit in easily with most of the staff. This time she felt so alone. It was getting to be a desperate situation and Rosie really had no idea how to handle it any more. In steps a tall, dark-haired stanger with warm blue eyes whom she meets at Starbucks, who just happens to be the one person that could help.

59. Kim Baldwin's alternative Original/Über Blown Away (30 pages) has finished 4 times on our Top-25 list.

A muggy spring day in Michigan unleashes a fury of tornados. Two women are in the path of one of them: volunteer firefighter Gable McCoy and teacher Erin Richards.

This is by far the best of Kim Baldwin's work. The action scenes are right out of the movies. I felt the tension as the leads waited out the dark night in the tornado's aftermath. But it was the tension between Erin and Gable that stayed with me for days after I read the story. The sexual tension kept me on pins and needles! It hit way to close to home!
For anyone who has wondered if their "good friend" feels the same way they do... this story will bring back wonderful memories.
Thanks Kim,

Desiree Love had a hectic day, however this claim is probably a total understatement. First of all, she slept late, then she was caught in bumper to bumper traffic on the freeway, whereas it would usually move along smoothly, because she left early enough. Since there was a traffic jam, Desiree ended up almost being two and half-hours late, which her boss berated her for. Desiree, known for being a rather patient person most of the time, acted the complete opposite then. Next thing you know, she was packing her belongings...Then she found out her boyfriend had found someone else...Could it get any worse? Later that night, out to get ice cream, a cold barrel is put to her head and she's told to drive. Things might have gotten worse...maaaybe...but those blue eyes were electric! (Originally begun posting April 2002 - Revised May 2003)

The ER Chief Besom had two choices - either fire Dr. Shay Gerard, whom he'd just heard the umpteenth complaint against or turn it over to the one person who could find out the deepest secrets of a spy. Enter Pez - tall, long dark hair and eyes that could pierce into your very soul...and Chief of Surgery. Can her unorthodox ways help her help Shay? What...who is she afraid of? Read on and find out, although somewhat graphic, this is yet another romp in the warped world of Larisa that will make you laugh and cry.

I really liked this story. The plot was awesome and the characters didn't get carried away. [wink. wink. poke. poke. nudge. nudge.]There weren't too many parts I wasn't allowed to read.
Good use of words, but not too complicated to read. My favorite line was "Can I get a wheelie chair for a frozen tater tot?"

PS I wish you would write more stories without the characters getting 'carried away'. - Nanaabelle's Grandson  Aug 15th, 2003

it doesn't need comments... READ this story !! Larisa, you're one of the best bards !! - laurence  Jul 31st, 2003

I must say I really do enjoy Larisa's stories very much. She has the ability to draw the reader into her story and keep them riveted to the screen. That being said I have but one criticism. The main characters are usually very likable and believable, but then the two goofy friends are always thrown in and they just completely detract from the story. I can't help but find them irritating and have to roll my eyes at their antics. I mean come on they don't act at all like real people do (well at least any people I have EVER met in my life). I personally enjoy being able to relate to the characers and they are simply impossible to relate to. This is just a personal opinion, of course. I would like to see Larisa turn her considerable talents towards writing something with more depth and emotion rather than finding new outrageous situations to throw these two annoying creatures into. - Peg  Jul 12th, 2003

IMHO I believe this is one of her best. - Amanda  Mar 16th, 2003

Larisa has found the formula that works everytime...I love her stories! Please keep them coming!!!! - LW  Oct 5th, 2002

After wobbling a little with her last couple of stories, Larissa is back! "The Ice Princess" is well written, no lags or jags, just the author at her best. I loved the pez dispenser; it brought back childhood memories and a hankering for one of those solid, pure sugar treats that made me wired and able to run faster than anyone else. ;) Thanks and all that jazz to the author for an all-around good read.

I really enjoyed this story. There are times when you want to just read a story about a romance... without misunderstandings and slapstick. There was some serious drama and a bit of 'thriller' built in, but just enough. My one critique would be that some of the secondary characters were sacrificed for the 'drama' quotient. the family drama was actually just as interesting and there were a few holes left in it in light of the physical drama. It's like the story took off in a different direction than where the focus began. But all in all... totally enjoyable and a 'straight on 'til morning' read. - RoxyTrek  Mar 9th, 2004

Hilljack Conspiracy by Larisa

Loved the twists and turns this tale took! I loved how she placed them in the U.S. instead of a third world country! I laughed, I cried, and basically had a great time reading this! - Intrepid Judge2  Jan 3rd, 2004

Hill Jack Conspiracy….By Larisa

Ever meet Secret Squirrel or a femme version of Dr.Who? Well neither had I before reading this entertaining story. Anyone that likes Larisa’s adventures is sure to love this one.
It has whit charm and humor that take you on a tummy crunching exercise while reading it.
It measures up good and has all the pre-stated challenge statements in them.
We are truly taken for a ride with this story to locations I never had visited before. We get to follow two characters that truly are a discovery all in themselves. Though this story is long it does not feel that way when you have gotten into it, and when you reach the final line, you wish there was more to come. - Intrepid judge1  Jan 3rd, 2004

Hill Jack Conspiracy….By Larisa

Truly a hilarious adventure.
This story is one of the funniest pieces I have read in a long while. From the chicken dance to a squirrel tattoo…just out of this world funny.
My favorite line out of the whole story was.. “I’m a Pervert not a fighter.” I laughed my ass off. - Intrepid Judge3  Jan 3rd, 2004

"Hill Jack Conspiracy" is another winner from Larisa! Absolutely hilarious, and full of twists and turns, too! Thanks, Larisa...a great big, fat present for us, and just in time for Christmas, too! You rock! - Michelle  Dec 18th, 2003

Falsely accused of molesting a patient and betrayed by her closeted lover, Kim flees to California hoping for a fresh start at a new hospital. She finds more than she bargained for at LA Metropolitan.

Well, I always wondered what happened to Kim after that fiasco with Kerry in the ER series. Now I know! Thanks R. Nolan. You picked it up and made it into a story, giving Kim a place she deserves. - letterwolf  Mar 14th, 2004

An excellent read. I didn't want to stop reading it. The main characters are fully realized and believable. Kim's ability to help Jess face her past and move beyond it was wonderful. Keep it up. I look forward to reading the sequel. Great job, R Nolan! - Kinsey  Oct 30th, 2003

Standard piece of uber for a lazy sunday morning, good dose of soppiness and a pinch of angst. Nice portrayl of the relationship between these two women and I did enjoy the subtle moral of the tale in the end. - Stephanie  Apr 12th, 2003

It is my opinion that this is absolutely the best piece from this author to date. The relationship between the main characters as well as the subplots and secondary relationships are well-developed. Torrance Whitfield is an excellent character sketch. You can tell this character is full of compassion and love, making her truly liekable even when her flaws are brought to light. As for the other main character, Helen, she is sophisticated and open. From the moment these two come together, you can tell something is going to happen, and the rollercoaster ride is fabulous. In addition September 11, 2001 is dealt with in a sensitive manner. The passage is emotional and trying on the characters, but the way it was written was well-constructed, and I give kudos to the author for taking on the challenge. If you read only one piece by Alex Tryst, this is the one you should read. - Anonymous  Jan 3rd, 2003

IMO this is one of the author's best works. Some of her other stories give a definite uneasiness (enough to where I skip to the part where the child-woman is finally of legal age) with their may/pre-december themes. With "Love In Photographs" Ms. Tryst has perfected her love of the older woman/younger woman genre, especially since this younger character isn't a high school, sapphic, Lolita. ;) There's also a part that deals with 9-11 but the author is kind enough to forewarn her readers. Great story. - Kaye  Jan 2nd, 2003

44. J. A. Bard's alternative Original/Über Assignment: Sunrise (488 pages) has finished 16 times on our Top-25 list.

Previously titled "Strangers Until We Meet," rewritten and longer. Agent Alexandra Adison's investigation into the disappearance of three women leads her to a Northern California town, Sunrise. What she found had her supervisor giving her a new assignment, to go undercover and monitor a group of outlaws that chose Sunrise as their home base. It took two years for SID, the law enforcement agency she worked for, to set up the right situation that will bring four important people to Sunrise, and one of them was a civilian who agreed to be the catalyst that will bring three dangerous men together. When it is time to put the bait in the trap, Adison has doubt in herself and fears that SID would be willing to sacrifice the civilian, whom she falls in love with.

43. A. Valdivia (Ali Vali)'s alternative Original/Über Amazonia (137 pages) has finished 10 times on our Top-25 list.

"The acts of the one for the good of the many." This is the motto first adopted by the Amazons centuries ago and still upheld by the warriors of current day Amazonia. In "Amazonia - Book One," we meet Princess Bebo of Leon as she sets off on her first diplomatic mission on behalf of her mother, Queen Audrey. On a cold day in Washington D.C. the tall warrior finds her path in the soft eyes of Annie Paddio. The only problem is, Annie is already committed to someone else.<br> <br>"Amazonia - Book One" brings to life a modern day warrior and the quest for her destiny. Join in the adventure as the ancient world of the Amazons is brought to life in the 21st century.

Love this author's writing and this story is no exception, although it had my eyes crossing at the end trying to keep up with who was who! That part could have been a bit clearer or maybe it was just muddled to my feeble brain. One thing's certain and that is I will always read her stories because I know I'm clicking on something truly original, with just the right amount of humour and erotica. - Femmester  Dec 9th, 2004

I have read every piece in the Ali Vali collection, this one all but tops the bunch. It is wonderful, captivating, and I stayed up all night reading it - I just couldn't stop. I can't wait for Book 2 - and I hope it won't be too long of a wait! - Laura  Dec 2nd, 2004

This is a simply wonderful tale, I was absolutely captivated by it from start to finish. I have read all the works by this author and this story really stands out. Can't wait for Book 2! - Ang  Nov 20th, 2004

I don't think there is a story that Ms. Valdivia has written that hasn't been excellent. The way she tells her stories puts her characters right there in your mind to see and hear and feel as they do, and everytime i go back and visit them, they seem more alive then ever. Now she gives us Amazonia, and all i can think to say is. My dear Ali if i beg and plead and wish really really hard do you think you can actually make this island of Amazonia a real place, because if you can i know it would be overpopulated in a day. Your bardic "voice" is an amazing gift. Thank you for sharing.
- Scotti  May 17th, 2004

Another wonderful addition to the Ali Vali collection. Romantic and heroic and all the things fairytales are supposed to be. The fact that this one takes place during modern times just adds to the wonder and excitement. A must, MUST read for all. - Roxy  May 9th, 2004

WOW!!! Once I got started, I couldn't stop! I was up all night reading this wonderful, enthralling story. Another masterpiece from an outstanding author. Beautifully written and engaging, full of twists and turns, a definate classic. Awesome!! - Peaches  May 6th, 2004

Once again, Ms. Valdivia has given us one of her enthralling tales. Like every other piece she has given us out here, she fills our time living the amazing the lives of her intriguing characters taking us away from our mundane lives. As with every other story of hers I have read, I was unable to stop until I have read every word, and ended up all night. It's like giving steak to a starving person. I find her stories original and refreshingly well written, her characters seem to come to life for the reader and you find yourself deeply involved with each of them. I hope Ali will see her way clear to give us more of this wondrous world of Amazonia, and its fascinating citizens. - Alex P  May 5th, 2004

Little do they know that the professions that they both keep under wraps will bring them into each others' paths and set a course in motion that will lead them to collaboration, danger, and much more.

35. Janneen Brownell's alternative Original/Über In All the Empty Places (126 pages) has finished 14 times on our Top-25 list.

This is a well crafted, intriguing tale set against the backdrop of movie star Jillian Young, whose life has been and fraught with tragedy, and unbeknownst to many, dark secrets and their damaging consequences. Victoria Senett, whose father marries Jillian, becomes an integral part of the drama. On Jillian's behest, Vickie tries to interceed on her behalf with her daughter, only to rediscover and old flame and begin to unravel all the secrests, including the love she thought she'd lost.

This piece is masterfully done. Each character has depth but does not inapropriately cross over the boundries created by the first person narrative. I was moved by this piece and only sorry that it was over when it was done. The mystery unfolds with the reader sometimes a half a step ahead of the narrator, and somehow that's just enough to prepare us to survive the whirlwind. The whole thing is honest and tragic and sweet all at once. I highly reccomend it. - Roxy  Apr 15th, 2004

When I stumbled upon this story, I had no idea how prfound it would be. Simply on eof the best I have read period. I enjoy the fact that it's not a 'nice and neat' story and contains many intense depictions of survival of violence without being sensational. Amazing! - BkFaith  Mar 14th, 2004

Absolutely wonderful story.
Would deserve to printed at once. - letterwolf  Mar 10th, 2004

I've been reading this book again lately and I was hooked. Just like the first time when I couldn't stop reading and finished it in one weekend. There are some many twists and turns that you will think "oh, i figured it out" more than once just to read you're totally wrong on the next page. It always reminds me on classic Hollywood drama from the old days with all it's charme. It has everything from mystery, fame, love, family and life. One of my all time favorit books! - Mindwalker78  Mar 5th, 2004

I read this story some time ago on another web site. I highly recommend taking the time to read it. Once I began, I was hooked and could not put it down until I had all the twists figured out. Ms. Brownell tells an excellent story of love, survival, mystery, family, and forgiveness. You will certainly not be disapointed by this entertaining and well-written piece. - S. Lee  Jun 4th, 2003

Kori Eaton remained in her usual hiding place, patiently waiting for everyone to vacate the expansive building. Glancing at her Mickey Mouse watch, she noticed the time. 8:48 p.m. Based on the last few nights she'd spent here, she knew that everyone would be gone by 9:15. Then she would have the versatile department store all to herself. However, unbeknownst to the 5'5" blonde, not everyone had left Shopholics... Ambrosia does it again, creating a quirky and wonderful romance!

The story of Kori Eaton and Skylar Whitney. An unusual meeting turns into an unforgettable night. A recently singled Kori, has been "living" at the Shopaholics Department store when one night, she finds out she is not alone in the store. A soon to be unhappily married Skylar, loses track of time (in the ladies room) to discover she was locked in the building with this stranger till morning. The events of the night would change both women forever. This tale was fun-loving and creative in nature, but most of all it had loads of that romantic stuff I crave. I would happily recommend this story. - Di Bauden  May 6th, 2003

Record Exec and Singer meet - match made in heaven right? NOT! It's hate at first sight as far as Kari is concerned...will Reggie be able to change her mind? Follow along and enter the stormy music world and see if they'll rock on!

Really enjoyed this one. KG's stuff is always wonderful but this was certainly fun. Would have made a very nice novella or even novel if the secondary characters had been fleshed out. However, everyone was quite three dimensinoal and the read was a pleasure. Would be nice to see these two again. Reggie's transformation was quite remarkable and it would be interesting to see what happens in the long run. Her past is just itching to come back and bite... well, you get the idea. - Roxytrek  Mar 7th, 2004

In this erotic tale, Gwen had memorized everything about Kyle and Cody's mom from Beth the first day she had seen her, and as an after school program teacher, she'd seen her every day. Beth had been noticing Gwen too since she was a breath takingly beautiful young woman with light brown hair, green eyes, incredibly fit and curvy body. Neither one knew just how to approach the other, but Gwens' second job takes care of that, which comes as a surprising exposure for both!

Makes me wonder about having a second career and the fun of juggling two diverse jobs. Great job on capturing the feelings and expressions of the characters. - Shadylady Oct 18th, 2004

A fantastic story filled with romance, action, and mystery! One of my favorites. Don't forget to vote for Fire Within for the top 100. It definitely deserves a high spot, and so do Anita Louise's other stories. Check them out! She's such a talented writer. - Jane Bond Feb 1st, 2004

A bevy of butt-kicking, intelligent, and gorgeous women head up the cast of this exceptional mystery. Anita Louise offers another well-written adventure that will transport the reader to exotic locales, place you in the middle of danger, and face-to-face with an element of the supernatural. And just in time for Valentine's Day, Anita puts the reader in the mood for romance as she weaves tales of enduring love within this novel. Will you be able to solve the mystery before the heroines? It will be quite the challenge, even for super sleuths. - Rachel Jan 31st, 2004

Oh, yeah, the Fire Within has so many tendrils of flames feeding marvelous characters, romance, plots, mysterious goings on and a hairy horror not born from a bad hair salon. You will cringe at times, put new wrinkles in your forehead trying to figure out the who the numerous bad guys are and get a free suntan
following the characters to valleys & desert locations. The gals are gorgeous, lovable, funny and fend quite well dealing with the bad guys. Not much this story failed to weave well into it pages. Don't miss this one and encourage the bard to write a sequel. Just too characters you want to see again and follow to another adventure. How about it, Anita Louise?

I'm up to date on my reading of "Fire Within" and can't wait for more! These characters have captivated me.

The town, the people, the strange going ons and now the monster that is scouring the countryside. It is a breath of fresh air to read a story that actually lets the readers feel 'every step.' A story that takes the reader on many adventures. I have laughed at times. Felt my heart beat faster when things got tense and scary.

I actually feel as if I am a part of this adventure. The love the women share is fantastic. Can’t wait to read more of this story.

This story has it all: action, comedy, drama, a little heartache, a lot of romance, and a mystery that has me pointing fingers at a half-dozen characters. This is another great story from the talented and popular author, Anita Louise. Do not miss this one! - Kimin Dec 10th, 2002

22. DE Salsbury's alternative Original/Über Fate (581 pages) has finished 16 times on our Top-25 list.

Honors/Awards: Perennial Favorite Award: #41 in 2003, #63 in 2002.
Wow! This story is well written in style, taste, and in keeping continued interest. This story generates every conceivable emotion one could express.I love the characters Ash and Lauren. Their personalities are ones that a person could relate to and almost take on as your own. True to life.Exciting, keeps you guessing, what next. Light hearted. a chuckle or laugh at times. Romance, very refreshing, it deplicts the love, caring and understanding two people who are in love could have. Which so far constitues an unconditional love for each other. Being a continuing story, it keeps the readers interest in anticipation of what will happen in the lives of Ash and Lauren. A continuing story well done! (A Forever Fan) Kathy

I have been reading this story from almost the beginning and I say,
Well Done, and in very Good Taste too.
This story has kept my iterest from the beginning and to now the End, which makes me fell sad in one way and Happy in the next. For one, I don't think we have heard the last of Lauren and Ash. I see and feel a sequel on the horizon. :)
I feel what lead up to the ending and how Ash displayed her love for Lauren was just Ash, being Ash, and shows just how two people can really be truely in love.
Then again beyond that, I can see how the sequel can begin to develop.
Great Job DE, this story deserves to be published!!
I will be waiting to read more of your stories.
Well done, and in good taste and fashion. :) - Kathy  Jul 19th, 2004

Great story DE Salsbury. I have waited a while to read the entire story at one sitting (well okay, it took me more than a day because of other, unwelcome, intrusions) but it is an enjoyable, well put together story with enough excitement to keep me reading and enough tender moments to give myself an easier pace.
I eagerly await part 2 - letterwolf  Jul 11th, 2004

WOW! Super story. Hope to see an addition. Would love to see more of these two. - Sheryl  Jun 26th, 2004

I am normally a lurker who watches the top 25. Seeing Fate up for the last few weeks I finally decided to see for myself the staying power of this story. I was thrilled with the story. Once I picked it up I could not put it down and did not put it down until I had finished the last sentence. Great Job DE Salsbury, hope to see a sequel soon. - Karen  Jun 22nd, 2004

Fate is one of the most compelling books I have read on the verse. If you are looking for PWP, don't come here, but if you are looking for an exciting story that is well written with developed plot line and three dimensional characters this is where you need to be. Though the story is lengthy it is never ever dry or dull. Hats off to D. E. Salsbury for a job well done. Thank you for sharing your talent. - White Wolf  May 17th, 2004

I am so happy to see this on the top 25 again. This is a wonderful story that should not be missed. I realize that the length of it as well as the fact that it is still a 'work in progress' may hinder some from reading 'Fate' but I have one thing to say to those that may be waiting in the wings....READ THIS STORY. It is one of the best I have ever read. - Jerri  Dec 25th, 2003

Excellent. - Anonymous  Dec 17th, 2003

I have no idea how I could have missed this one for so long. This story is abosolutely FANTASTIC. Each and every page is filled with humor, suspense and romance. I LOVE THIS STORY, one of the best I have ever read and I have been reading stories in the verse since day 1. Hats off to D E Salsbury. - Samantha  Dec 14th, 2003I have never been one for reading long stories especially when they are not finished. With that said, I am so glad I made an exception to this rule for Fate. Fate is an amazing story with a well developed plot line and three dimensional characters. I can honestly say, unlike most of the longer stories I have read, this one has never had a dull moment. This story is a very entertaining mixture of intrigue, humor and action. Nice job D E Salsbury, keep up the good work.

In this wonderful amalgam of mystery, adventure, romance, history and fantasy, D has woven a tale rich with the sights, sounds and feel of two worlds centuries and cultures apart and populated with warm and rich characters, two of which reach out across time itself for an unforgettable fairly tale ending. 19. Alex Tryst's alternative Original/Über Political Crossfire (215 pages) has finished 5 times on our Top-25 list including 3 weeks at #2.

A chance meeting between two political foes creates havoc in a crucial election year. Rising political activist, Dara Rosenthal, is ready to take on the current White House Administration as a stepping stone for her own political aspirations. Elisabeth Gunter, one of the President's campaign aides, is desperately trying to keep the momentum in the Republican's direction while keeping extreme political zealots at bay. Explosions follow as both women come to realize neither is what she seems and that secrets of the past never die. As the election draws closer, will they do whatever it takes to get their candidates into the White House?

A great read! Intelligent and thought provoking debates between the two main characters and a beautifully developed romance. Even though Alex Tryst's political intentions are obvious, you don't have to know a lot about the election to enjoy the adventure of two women looking for their soulmates. This book makes you believe in the power of love, love of family, love of friends, and the kind of love only to be found in that special person. And the part about Dara's nephew, Justin, well, all I can say is that it takes a strong person to reveal their personal trials to the world. Thank you, Alex, for allowing us to look into your real life for a brief moment and letting us learn more about a disease that affects so many. Job well done! - Anonymous  Sep 14th, 2004

17. A.K. Naten's alternative Original/Über Turning Tides (27 pages) has finished 12 times on our Top-25 list.

Love is rarely perfect... sometimes it seems impossible. A young woman leaves her troubled past, determined to start a new life in a new city. When she becomes hopelessly entangled with a domineering, emotionally embattled individual, she doesn't know if it's a dream come true, or her worst nightmare.

Turning tides is a great read. It portrays the helplesness in the maelström of love and sexual attraction/need quite well.
Naten could have fleshed out some parts in more detail, added perspective or a bit more conclusion, such as: what of the "sneaky stepbrother"?. His machinations and the plans/deals he apparently made during his vacation are not referred to again further in the story. Perhaps a sequel is in the making?

Also the need for anonymous, strongly dominant sex. That, to my mind, could not just disappear overnight, so to speak. But well, those are just my thoughts.
I really enjoyed reading it and certainly recommed it to others!

Honors/Awards: 2003 Story Of The Year.  Fan Favorite in the catagory of Mushball story.  Top-25 #1.
Tucker Danes is supposed to be on vacation in Hawaii with her fiancé Steve, and it's NOT what she expected. All he cared about was making a good impression with his boss, and Tucker was asking herself why she was with that looser. Then the unthinkable happens and Tucker leaves him, set on returning home to Texas as soon as possible. As fate would have it, she can't get a flight home, and ends up at Mama's. There she'll experience what Hawaii and surfing are all about, the antics of Furball, Ripples and Dunc, and what love looks like when she looks into eyes as blue as the ocean. This is another laughter-filled romance with tender moments and some spew alerts, a la Larisa!

I LOVE this story. It is one of Larisa's best and I sincerely hope that she writes a sequel. Please, please, please, write a sequel to this story. As a matter of fact get this story published, I would be the first in line to purchase a copy!! I've read almost all of Larisa's stories and this story along with Blind Date has got to be the funniest to date. If you don't read this story you will miss some of the best fan fiction every written. It has love, laughter and lust; what more could you want. Oh! Yeah, there is a plot and a worm named Steve, that should have been used as fish bait, but what is a love story without a villain. P.S. Can someone tell where I can find friends and a momma like this? - Lasher  Dec 20th, 2004

STOP!Don't read another story till you read this one.I haven't had so much fun reading a story in a long time. All I have to say is Larisa writes some of the best fic storys I've ever read. - TMc  Aug 1st, 2003

I loved it , but then I have all of hers. The goofy characters she comes up with and the situations keeps me in stiches - can't get enough of the goofy ones they just add to the story. If ever I am looking for something to read I just grab a Larisa story. Keep up the good work for I will read them all. - Linda  Jul 14th, 2003

Damn, woman you're good. You should write sequels for some of your stories. I would love reading one of Blue Calm. Please, don't ever stop writing!!!! You're way to good!!!! - Bacchus  Jul 11th, 2003

With the amount of stories, Larisa has written at this point, one might be tempted to say: GET A LIFE! However, I prefer to say: Please don't EVER get a life. Please! Blue Calm is not the first Larisa I've read, and it will certainly not be the last, either. It it simply too funny to describe, it has to be experienced. You laugh, you cry... and then you laugh some more. I want a Mama and two idiots of my very own. Larisa = Quality. Keep it up! - Wolvie-DK  Jun 16th, 2003

Another wonderfully unique Larisa original...filled with romance, drama, and outrageous humor. Ahhh...a feel good sensation achieved with this truly delightful and sensually delectable read. Well done, bard. Two thumbs up! ~Ag~ - ~Ag~  May 13th, 2003

Well, Larisa has done it, again!!! Blue Calm kept me in constant giggle mode, with a few happy tears thrown in along the way. Ripples and Furball, the idiots, are hilarious, and watching Mama try to control her brood kept me in stitches. And I have to say, either Larisa has lived the most diverse life ever on this planet, or she has the best imagination around, because she can write about any subject, as though she's an old hand at it. Kudos, Larisa, and thanks again for sharing you're marvelous talent with us!!! I do have to say, though, I missed the goat in this one!!! - Michelle  May 13th, 2003

A surfer, a writer, a couple of idiots and ... you'll have to read the rest. It's Larisa at her best. The laughs don't stop. - Anonymous  May 12th, 2003

Why haven't any of Larisa's stories been published? I would love to have an anthology of her stories! I'd be the first in line to buy any of her books. The only problem would be trying to select just which stories to publish. Thanks, Larisa, for all the laughs and many hours of enjoyment you have given us. - Anonymous  May 6th, 2003

Mac blinked her eyes a few times and then walked to the middle of the long mahogany bar. She pulled out a long cigar, snipped the end off with her cutter and slid it between her lips. Searching her pockets, she pulled out her silver Zippo and burned the end before lighting it. With one eye squinted, she looked to the bartender and gave her a crooked grin. "Hey Sally gimme a bourbon neat and some pretzels if you have any." Sally pushed back her dyed red hair, eyed Mac and shook her head of long curls. MacKenna Jones, Private Investigator, lived in the past and that's the way she liked it. However, a sticky case and her loyal secretarys' grandaughter may just change that, as the tall, gangly Truman becomes Mac's indomitable Girl Friday and fate calls for more than a beautiful friendship.

If you are looking for a story with a little mystery, a lot of romance and a huge dose of humour then this is definitely the one that will fill the bill. Personally I have never read one of Larisa'a tales that didn't make my day better, she is always entertaining and I think we all owe her a big thank you for sharing her amazing talent with us. - Alex P  Jan 26th, 2004

I truely enjoyed this offering from the pen of Larisa -- but then when don't I - talk about lots of frustration -- nothing like being told no, forget it, never in a million years to get one going.

Erin Tucker wakes in her bed to the sweet delectable scent of peaches. When she opens her eyes she finds blonde hair and the sleepy green eyes of a naked stranger cuddled against her. Finding herself naked as well, and having little memory of the night before, she is indeed perplexed. Who is this person, and what's she doing in my bed? Erin is saved from further musings, when her girlfriend (make that ex-girlfriend) appears near the bed demanding an explanation. Things quickly get more complicated for Erin after finding out that she married this stranger the night before. Erin wants an annulment but Courtney Calloway has a slightly different proposal. Find out what that proposal is in yet another great read from Ambrosia!

Great story. Really enjoyed it. - xluvr  May 17th, 2004

Another great tale from a wonderful writer! Although it was somewhat predictable (at least to me), it's not the destination, but the journey getting you there! And Ambrosia takes you on one that you wish didn't end! I highly recommend this story! - gail  May 4th, 2004

Brilliant story. Brilliant writer. I read all of Ambrosia's stories and liked them all. I laughed and I cried. Truly a piece of art. I hope to read some more in the near future! - Bacchus  May 1st, 2004

Advertising Director Elora Duke had been observing the writer for months now, and finally got the courage to talk to her. The tall dark beauty, by the name of Virginia Wolf, is not overly receptive initially...however, Duke is not one to let go of one who has touched her so...

A beautiful love story. I would love to read a sequel or a POV from Virginia or both. - ter  Nov 12th, 2004

What an absolutely wonderful, wonderful heartfelt story, but it begs to ask what happens now, and why stop there, it could be so much more. - LuvTigger71  Nov 2nd, 2004

Officer Sam McKenna and her rookie partner receive an urgent radio call. There's a man with a gun in a local Emergency Room. As they race toward the hospital little does Sam know she is racing toward her destiny. When she confronts the gunman her life is forever changed...

I read this story probably since the first day it was posted and was SO blown away by it. And now, I'm lying awake at night, remembering the characters and just can't seem to let them go. In my opinion, IN A HEARTBEAT is an incredible story, very captivating and real enough that some of us can connect to. The emotions, the struggles..it all just shaped the story into one that touched my heart. This is a story that I've re-read several times as well as it's sequel Entwined Lives. - T.F.  Oct 18th, 2004

I enjoyed this bard's first story LA Metropolitan so was happy to see a companion piece. Wow! This one was even better. In A Heartbeat is a wonderful love story. The characters are funny, compelling and presented in a well balanced manner. Once you start reading you won't want to stop! Great story and a throughly entertaining read. Hope to see more of these ladies. - Beth  Sep 13th, 2003

As I said I would do, I read this novella by R. Nolan late last night on into early this morning. I was impressed. This is a well written story which definitely showcases R. Nolan's writing talent. "In A Hearbeat" is a beautiful love story that leaves you wanting to read more about it's two lovely heroines. And this is not a PWP tale. This work of fiction definitely has a heart and a soul wrapped around a nice story line. You'll understand where the title comes from not too long after you start reading. You'll find yourself on cruise-control as you glide from chapter to chapter. Then suddenly, it's over. And you have to stop. But most certainly, you're filled with a craving for more. This cleverly written and totally entertaining fictional delight was, indeed, a follow-up to "LA Metroplitan", but it's definitely left behind in this sequel's wake. Where have you been hiding R. Nolan? I can most assuredly say I want to read more of this writer's work! - //AW  Sep 7th, 2003

Excellent story! Well written and makes you want to keep reading to the very end. I look forward to reading more from this Author. - Anonymous  Sep 6th, 2003

I was impressed with R Nolan's first offering "LA Metropolitan" so when I saw this companion piece, I was excited to read it. "In A Heartbeat" matched, if not surpassed her original work. The writing is well done, the characters are real and relatable. By the end of the story I was yearning for more. R Nolan writes a wonderful love story and I look forward to more work from this talented Bard. - Littlespit  Sep 6th, 2003

The title "In A Heartbeat" caught my attention very quickly. Hmmm...I thought, perhaps a nice romantic story to read this evening to lift my spirits and soothe my very tired soul after an extremely busy work day. So, I ventured to commence reading this 'new' story to The Athenaeum. WOW!!! I read...and kept on reading...not letting go...not wanting to. I was 'hooked' very early on in this very well written and delightfully entertaining romantic tale. It certainly had gotten my attention and I found myself wanting 'more' even after completing the last chapter. This story by Ms Nolan is certainly a wonderful sequel to her first story, "LA Metropolitan"...and in my estimation, much moreso. This fictional interlude is more poignant, more riveting, more romantic, and more thought provoking in many ways. But, all in all...it's a story of...and about...'the power of love'. My suggestion is for y'all to read this one. Why?! 'Cuz you're really gonna like it. You truly are...'Fer sure!!! Well done,
Ms. Nolan...very well done. - ~Ag  Sep 4th, 2003

3. Larisa's alternative Original/Über Class Separation (95 pages) has finished 10 times on our Top-25 list.

Honors/Awards: Top-25 #1.
In this mystery, an old wrong is again brought to light as First Sergeant Merc Macgregor is assigned to guard Finnegan Draper, a High School teacher who has been seriously beaten and left for dead, and who Merc blames for her part in the long-ago incident. However, in usual Larisa fashion, things are not as they seem and sparks fly between the two protagonists and their cronies, to the innevitable attraction and bliss of the two former 'enemies.'

Another excellent offering from Larisa -- she just keeps getting better. I enjoyed the mystery -- didn't even come close to who the bad guy was. I always wait till things is done before starting as I know nothing will get done till I am done with the story. - Linda  Feb 25th, 2004

Great story. Builds slowly but the character development is first rate. And even the secondary characters are brought to life. I've loved all her stories and this one shows that Planetsolin still has it. - Anonymous  May 31st, 2004
