I would have raised you as mine
I would have forgiven His ravages in time

If you hadn't played Dahak's game.
I would have cherished you my child.
I would have tamed you, though you were wild.
I would have kissed your tears away,
If you had fought your destiny just one day.
I would have loved you my child of
darkness.
I would have raised you my dream of light.
I would have given you everything right from the start
If you hadn't broken her heart.
I remember walking in that door,
Seeing her soul laying dead on the floor.
I let go of everything I'd ever known
As true pain became all that I owned.
I stopped believing in Love
Let the remains of my purity die.
And as I hear your last little white lie,
I pretend to comfort you,
and wrap my heart in a glove.
So drink my promises down.
My penance to her before I drown.
As punishment for my sin,
I denied my soul the haven it craved
and as I felt her near
My love tossed eyes rose to hers
and met walls diamond hard.
And even the gift of your death
could not force her to take another breath
in my presence.
I knew then that I was unforgiven.
So we stand before the two:
The child of darkness,
bourne of light
The child of peace
bourne of war
and watch as the flames eat away
every shred of promise we had
for a future.
My words of love could never amend
the horror of what you did to my best friend.
So hear me now, forever more
I am the warrior's poet no more.
My path I walk, I walk alone.
My love I lost, I lost alone.
My deeds of shame I can never atone.
But Hear me now, my child of shame
I will never follow the path of the insane.
I named you once to give you a better
life
I saved you once to give you a choice, not strife.
Now I call you by the name that history wrote
because all you are is my own False Hope.
