Smart dialogue, sharp wit, and quirky humor. Action, adventure, humor, and romance ... after 7 stories, I still can't get enough and am waiting for more. I think the Nano series can be made into a great TV series or several blockbluster movies. This series is one of the finest uber fictional work out there folks. Don't miss out, go read! - BYL Jun 27th, 2005 |
This story is great fun. It's well written, funny and there's romance, too. What more could you want? I love all of GSB's stories and this one is a real winner. - Anonymous Jun 27th, 2005 |
Hey, where's the #1 gold thingy for this story? :) - Anonymous Jun 27th, 2005 Editor's Note: Er...right where it's supposed to be? |

awesome story :) - Katrina Jun 24th, 2005 |
Great story...job well done! Love all your stories! - NF Jun 22nd, 2005 |
Loved the part of the outcast going back to high school reunion to stuff it to the old popular crowd, that's looking fatter, older and uglier these days. Sounds like a start of a pretty good story, can't wait for the last 3 parts! - Anonymous Jun 22nd, 2005 |
I think I have read this story from beginning to end at least 3 times already. Some novels I just want to read my favorite parts and then skim over the rest, but not this one. As each passage goes by and I feel the loss in that I'm nearer to the end of the characters' journeys. This novel is truly an excellent original fictional work, in the sense that the author created the characters herself and not rely on the reader's expectation of what the uber X & G would be like. Every character is a clean slate when they were first described so you would not know what to expect and how they would react given a situation. Masterfully written story that pulls you into the colorful and enriched world of the Lakota, and in it you'd find a beautiful love story that transends gender and culture. Highly recommended! Anybody know where I could buy several hard copies? - BYL Jun 22nd, 2005 |
I read the first story of Ms. Harte series (Last Dance) and really enjoyed it. It was well written and touching. She does it again!! Don't miss it! Both stories will make your heart flutter! Thank you. - Vesna Jun 15th, 2005 |
WOW! What a story! One of the best novel I've ever read on the net. - Leia Jun 14th, 2005 |
Why does this story not show as a former #1 on the Top 25 list? Or is that fact just a given with a story by Larisa! ;) - Dee Jun 14th, 2005 Editor's Note: Corrected... |
Great read, can't wait for the next chapter!!! - Anonymous Jun 14th, 2005 |
I really loved everything about this story and would love a sequel to it.The characters are great > Angel is just that. - yin yang Jun 13th, 2005 |
This is what a romance story should be. R.Nolan knows how to to make you care about the characters and the trials and tribulations any new romace faces. Highest recommendation, read this story...you won't be sorry! - Dana Jun 13th, 2005 |

This is a really well written story. Redhawk takes you with her into this story like you were right there along with Anpo. I found it informative as well as a wonderfull love story. Keep these stories coming at me Redhawk, I can't get enough. - Robin Hicks Jun 12th, 2005 |

This is a great story. I love how they met so far away and then fate brought them together again. I think that when you meet someone once its really special but twice its fate. - Tank Jun 11th, 2005 |
KTBard has really captured the innocence of Gabrielle in this story. And the intensity of Xena's grief was very well done. I look forward to your next story! - LucetheGoose Jun 10th, 2005 |
Short but so sweet! KTBard really captured the characters in the context of the "Path Not Taken" episode and the first season. I love the first person narrative and the depth of emotion mixed with sensuality. VERY nicely done! - Laura from XenaChicks Jun 10th, 2005 |
Great character development--I'm hoping you'll finish and share the rest of the story! - Kelly Noble Jun 10th, 2005 |
A writer whose work I admire told me to read this essay. I did and posted it on my wall. Nearly everyday I read it and it guides me on how to live my life and it reminds how to love. My thanks to MS Anderson for sharing it with us and to my friend who first advised me to read it. - Ryn Jun 10th, 2005 |
I enjoyed this X/G story the first time and now again. It was sweet and showed the tenderness between our two most loved characters. A big thank you to the author of this story. - Ryn Jun 10th, 2005 |
These stories are wonderful. It's a nice way to get back to the series that started the whole thing. The bard does an amazing job of fleshing out X and G - giving them something extra - while still staying true to their characters. Do you miss the series?? Read these stories!!! - Gryphinn Jun 9th, 2005 |
Extraordinary writing! One of the early fictional works that I came across and still could remember clearly what the story is about. I became an avid reader of fanfiction because of this wonderful story full of romance, mystery, and action. My highest recommendations! Is there anyone out there that still has not read this story? - BYL Jun 8th, 2005 |
I love Sandy and Mandy, They are such a loving couple. I think that the story is very well written. Its very twisty too. You don't know what's going to happen till it does. Very good read. - renee Jun 7th, 2005 |

Hilarious story with great chemistry between characters - Shyn Jun 6th, 2005 |
Great story!!!!! hope their's a sequel!!! - Krysta Jun 5th, 2005 |
This story is as good on the second (or third, or fourth) reading as it was the first time I found it. I'd love to see more from these characters (hint, hint). Littlespit's work is filled with romance and I highly recommend her stories. - Jude Jun 5th, 2005 |
One of the best stories i've ever read!! Love the characters. - Shyn Jun 4th, 2005 |
If the 'Silmarillion' daunted you, this tale surely will NOT! While it is as intricate as the Tolkien tale, it is more beautifully constructed and much more engaging than the original, and of course, the tie in with the Xenaverse is classic! Helluin's take through the ages and her interactions with all the denizens therein leads you though this cleaverly woven tale that will keep your interest for as long as this author will continue to tackle this already monumental piece of power writing! Brava! Brava! - Anastacia Jun 4th, 2005 |
This story screams sequel.Good story . - yin yang Jun 1st, 2005 |
I love adventure and I love romance, this story has both. I really like to watch Dev and Holly develop their relationship. I also think its really clever the way the bard brought them together and then had their lives collide into an exciting adventure. - Tawnie Jun 1st, 2005 |
I didn't enjoy this story about Jo and Blair as much as the others, but it was still interesting to read, especially the humor with Nat and Tootie. But what I'm waiting for are stories with "original" characters, made up by Larisa, as only Larisa's imagination can dream up. Those are her best loved stories ...and very much missed! Or how about sequels to ANY of her originals. I would love to read more about Memphis, Luka, CJ, Brumby, Sprout & Lia from "Day Walker" again, just to name one of my favorites. How's Tucker, Duncan, baby Shane, Ripples & Furball doing from "Blue Calm?" Or Levi, Brody, Shane & Teddy from "Blind Date." Ok, that's two more favorites, I better stop. Sequels from any of her originals would be appreciated and loved. Keep up the great work, Larisa, it's great to have you back. - Sherry Jun 1st, 2005 |
This is such an awesome story. What a way to renew an interest in an old show, and its characters. This author was able to write the character so well. Highly recommend this story. - wmnwholves May 31st, 2005 |
I'm a bit confused, are the characters in this story the same as who were in Weekend Bliss and A Period of Adjustment because I'm just having a really hard time grasping this idea. - Louise May 31st, 2005 |
i read this before bed tonight... i'm not tired any more! great quickie mavis! - shan May 31st, 2005 |
This was beautiful. I read a lot of fan fiction, but this short piece of fiction grabs the reader from the beginning and leaves them satisfied at the end. Just AMAZING. - Anonymous May 31st, 2005 |
WOW! GREAT STORY !!!! Read this now!!!! - yin yang May 30th, 2005 |
Great story!!! Hope there's a sequel!! This story is in my opinion too good to past up. - Krysta May 29th, 2005 |
Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Shyn May 29th, 2005 |
I love all of this bard's work!! the characters are always so lovable and the style of writing is very enjoyable as it is not full of angst and heartbreak like alot of the other stories out there. Don't get me wrong, i love all types of fanfiction but Littlespit's stories are some of my favourites. - Shyn May 29th, 2005 |
Powerful, heartfelt and tender words are spoken by this author. The commitment in these words speak to not only the heart but the soul. If we all could only share half the vision of this author, our lives would be so much more enriched. The author speaks of a yearning that has touched my soul not only the first time I read it but every time after. Everyone should visit "My Whole Life" from time to time and be reminded of the power, passion, romance and love that spilled from this author's heart and soul. - Anonymous May 28th, 2005 |
I loved this story, I love the idea of two artists who fall for each other thru their art.Very beautiful. - toni May 25th, 2005 |
I really enjoyed this short story, I especially love the interaction between Blair and Jo. I haven't read any Facts of Life fanfiction in so long, so thanks for writing about these gals :) - Jen May 25th, 2005 |

WOW. - wrldpece May 21st, 2005 |
At the beginning of this story are words "There are nights that change your life......" Well, there are writers who enter your mind and heart, and Devize is one who infiltrates both of mine. The mini stories within the main have a common theme or thread that both consume your interest and reach inside of you. To say "Word Wizard" or "Mistress of Deception and Deliciously chosen descriptions of body, soul and settings" wouldn't be complimentary enough to this writer. Having read her full length novel, MISPLACED PEOPLE, the short story,THE OTHER SIDE, and now this shorter yet,STILL LIFE, I am taken in and taken to places & meeting characters that linger in one's mind. The versatility of her mind that spills over into her stories, characters & places is wonderfully fulfilling as you read fitting dialogue with bits of humor even in the middle of devastation at times. This is one author whose stories I read and then read again. STILL LIFE is anything you may think it is before you read it. But after reading it, you will realize the cleverness of the title and the mind that wrote it. It is a beautiful story! - O Ger May 21st, 2005 |
Went to the Larisa page and picked out this story I hadn't read in a while -- forgot how much fun it was. Gotta love Grumpy the dog -- highly recommend this highly entertainting story. Actually recommending anything of Larisa's is easy. - LInda May 20th, 2005 |
oh my god! i got half way through the story and now the page says thats its suspended, can anyone help me or tell me where a copy of the story can be found. please - jade May 20th, 2005 |
I just read this story .Great . I loved it but I have a question it said part one does anyone know if there is a part 2 and where to find it. - Anonymous May 19th, 2005 |
Wow! Great Story! Utterly captivating! I hope you write a sequel. - Anonymous May 18th, 2005 |
Wow! I'm so glad I chance upon this story today! What a fantastic read! I'm just taking my time to savour it the whole day. The icing on the cake, well...it has a work-in-progress sequel (When You Dance with the Devil) that is just as good!!!! If you want a good and gut wrenching emotional uber with lots of depth, you wouldn't want to miss the story of Rhian and Deven! Thank you Harley!!! Hope you'll finish the sequel soon because I intend to read both stories all over again! - Karin May 17th, 2005 |
Oh my Goodness! Another story by Larisa. Two stories in two weeks!! And I don't have time to read it now. I can see I'll get alot done today, thinking about this story waiting for me at the end of the day. Thank you, Larisa, you've made me and the rest of your fans very happy. - Sherry May 17th, 2005 |
really interesting story so far, hope to see more chapters added soon. I really liked the different clans, reminds me of the a couple different scifi stories i've read - Anonymous May 17th, 2005 |
after seeing the recommendation a couple days ago I had to go back and reread the 2 stories AGAIN. I fall in love with the characters and become entwined into their lives each time I reread the stories. Wish there was another sequel that would be awsome. This story is a definite must read along with the 1st story madame president. - blazinangelwings May 17th, 2005 |
I really did enjoy this story, but I feel you could have told more of a story here. The idea was great. I look forward to your next one, to see how you develop as a writer. - Anonymous May 17th, 2005 |
Brilliant! Speaking as someone that has read David Weber's wonderful series a number of times, including all the adjacent books, this is wonderfully written by an author that really knows the universe and the very specific character personalities in quite some detail, and honestly it is just lovely to read Honor finally doing that which I always prayed she would and knew was ultimately what she should; fall for a woman :) - Ryath May 16th, 2005 |
I just finished reading this story over the weekend and I have to say it is EXCELLENT! I just wish the author would finish it. I hate to kept hanging so long. - Veronica May 16th, 2005 |
Very Cute Story ! A nice blend of romance and humor. A nice quick read, yet detailed enough to tell a good story. It's about time that a love denied so long is finally realized. Good job chakram24 - Anonymous May 16th, 2005 |
Double Trouble is a very lovely and wonderfully romantic story. I loved it. It is a 'must' read for everyone and since it was #1... many others agree. Thanks for such a wonderful story... keep writing! - GSB May 15th, 2005 |
Well this is the 8th time I've read this story(many months in between) and it is suspenseful each time. - Draco May 15th, 2005 |
I first read this well over a year ago, and keep coming back to it every month or so in the hopes that it'll be updated. PLEASE FINISH!!! This is an amazing story. I love it. - Elle May 13th, 2005 |
Larisa is the all time Queen of Uber. She's finally back with "Private Hell" and the caliber of the story is awesome which is par for the course. Please write more Larisa, you rock!!!! - ellebmd May 13th, 2005 |
I have read this story more than 6 times. If you think that that's pathetic, wait until you've read it!You will love it! Fantastic work. Keep it up! - Tina May 12th, 2005 |
I started reading this story, and I'm eagerly awaiting more of it. Its very unique, and I hope that Ms. Derkins can continue. - Katia N. Ruiz May 10th, 2005 |
Awesome historical novel!! I recommend it with both thumbs and big toes up, and I hope that when you all read it, you comment on it. Feed the bards, people, we love it when we get appreciations of our work. - Katia N. Ruiz May 10th, 2005 |
One of the greater stories I've ever had the pleasure of reading. The main character, Luna, has to figure out what the heck happened to her and how she ended up in space. But where she ends up is even more interesting. Read the sequel, The Fallen, and you'll find out more of this place Luna ends up in. :-D - Katia N. Ruiz May 10th, 2005 |
wow ! this story is so intense is really deep,,,I wish I can discribe my love life the way fingersmith discribe the love of these two women.....very powerful..so unique . Keep up the good work ....and this story deserves a sequel.... oh yeah!!! - arly May 10th, 2005 |
Another really great read from Advocate & T. Novan. This is a really great book in its self but to get a better feel, read Madam President first. I don't even know how many times I have read and re-read these stories. Keep up the great work and I could even use anothe sequel. - Robin Hicks May 10th, 2005 |
WoW! Beautiful story, so unique. feels like something's fluttering inside; it's the wonder and reverence i always feel when reading Devize's work :) it has me hooked. i've never read anything like it and that's saying something. also it's reassuring that it's just a beginning for this story (right?)thank you Devize for another Gem! - Katrina May 10th, 2005 |
Well, I'm back. I just finished reading "A Private Hell" and must say I did enjoy it. I don't want to say any more than that 'cause it's too easy to give away the surprise. Or at least I was surprised! Just read it and find out for yourself. Again, thanks to Larisa for another of her stories. Sure am happy to see her back. You've been missed, Larisa. - Sherry May 9th, 2005 |
Oh WOW, a new Larisa story, I'm so excited! No, I'm sorry, I haven't had a chance to read it yet. I just downloaded it. I just had to tell you how happy I am to finally see a new story by Larisa. Now I'm off to read this new story. Thank you, Larisa! - Sherry May 9th, 2005 |
RNolan never disappoints! Her new characters are wonderfully written. The women's love and their struggle to overcome life's obsticles is a great read. I'm always a sucker for a story that includes kids and this one does not dissapoint! Great work, I look forward to anything else RNolan writes. - Littlespit May 9th, 2005 |
Wow! This is one of those rare stories that brings out every emotion. I laughed (literally spewed water on my monitor!), I cried (The big lump in the throat and tears stuff), I needed a (few) cold showers. It is a rare and wonderful story that brings me from laughter to tears and ends up with my wanting to know more. This story is a "must read" in my opinion. - Sue May 9th, 2005 |
This is the sequel to Adeptus Major, a domestic look at the future Queen of Atlantis and her Consort hiding in plain view. It's not quite what I expected, but then, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. So far, it's very good. I'm glad I chose to read it, and to be honest, it's a little addicting. I'd recommend this to anyone who has read the first book. There is continuity, a little newness and just a bit of surprise in the characters Evelynne and Ally meet. Yup, this one's a keeper! - Taleweaver May 8th, 2005 |
It was great to see these two characters again. Littlespit does a wonderful job of portraying the feelings these two women have for each other and their child. And the new addition takes a serious subject and handles it superbly. Well done! Well worth the read. - Becca May 8th, 2005 |
She's back and with a whole new set of characters to love and of course a couple to love to hate! R. Nolan's new story is well worth a read. Both main characters are strong women in their own right and the kids were just adorable. Any chance of seeing more of these lovely ladies? - Kelly May 7th, 2005 |
Loved this story. I'd love to see more from these characters (please?). - Jodine May 5th, 2005 |
I highly recommend this story!! I read 'hearts and flowers border' not long ago and it's a fascinating story!! Now Fingersmith came up with another just as good. Different from her first attempt to fiction this one sounds rather dark and spooky, makes one wonder that with a flick of the wrist your everything can turn to nothing. And even so the characters get drawn to one another by something more powerful, to finally walk out of the dark. Wonderful! Wonderful story! Perfectly written! I totally disagree with tarvvy, it's not boring at all. And it didn't seem long enough either cause when I reached the end I was somehow willing to have more to read. Well done, Fingersmith!! - Jo May 5th, 2005 |
ARGH!!! why must u torture us!!! please please please put the last part up! im dying here!!! awesome story, really tugs the heart strings... and some other regions! :P Brilliant, simply brilliant. - Blueyez` May 5th, 2005 Editor's Note: Your wish is our command... The Conclusion is up. As for the torture...well, you'll have to ask the bard about that. ;) |
I really loved this story and would recommend it without question. I could not put it down. Wonderful new author! Thanks, Fingersmith. - Summer Sun May 4th, 2005 |
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Good plot and characters. I have to disagree with tarrvy - I didn't find any boring bits, and it wasn't long enough. Everything was needed to make a really good read. It was funny and sexy. - Karen May 4th, 2005 |
Yup, this story is definitely addictive! Hoping for a sequel too! If you like Turning Tides, you may wanna check out Poetry in Motion and When You Dance with the Devil by Harley. - UberCrazy May 3rd, 2005 |
The story of Devan and Rhian will continue to suck you in in this well-written sequesl. This is another winner from Harley. The story and character development remain refreshing and real. Harley creates just the right tension and complexities to move this story along in powerful ways. An excellent uber from an excellent writer. - UberCrazy May 3rd, 2005 |
This story is AMAZING. This is one of those stories that will go on forever. I hope the author writes a sequel!! - Krysta May 3rd, 2005 |
A great story with hilarious content. I think I pee'd my pants a few times reading this story. It is my new favorite - Raven, ohhhhhMG! Bed me now!!!!!!!!! Dude, I'm in love wit a story character - you may now nominate me for the world saddest woman. - Brenda C.G. May 3rd, 2005 |
Great story, I keep checking up for updates, they don’t come as fast as I like, ¡¡thank you Stone!! - Ailidh (Spain) May 1st, 2005 |
Sometimes you just need an angst free tale of romance and this was it. I loved the romance and courtship in this story and the bound of love the two characters had between each other. If your looking for a story to warm your romantic heart this is it. - Poeticvamp May 1st, 2005 |
Wonderful Story! The characters are funny, enchanted, a teenage falling in love for your mother'friend. Amazing! A unforgettable story! - leth cross Apr 30th, 2005 |
One of the best series I've had the pleasure of reading so far. I truly hope a third is on the way. - Claire Apr 29th, 2005 |
A beutiful read folks. Some one find me a sequel. - Robin Hicks Apr 29th, 2005 |
What can I say that hasn't already been said about Fingersmith and her writing talents? She's an awesome writer and one that I will continue to watch out for in the future. I wish I were writing this good in my second story. lol. Although Dwelling in the Past is so very different from Hearts and Flowers Border, it's just as good. And man, can Fingersmith write a steamy sex scene. ;) So, give this great story a read. You will not be disappointed. - MSAnderson Apr 27th, 2005 |
I think, I need a tall drink of water and a lap dance, not necessarily in that other. Thank you Ms Black. - B. Apr 27th, 2005 |
In this second offering from Fingersmith, we the very fortunate reader are not let down one bit from the high we were on from Hearts and Flowers Border. Dwelling in the Past is a wonderful story that twists and turns and sometimes leaves your heart in your throat! I thought the writing was incredible....Fingersmith has a gift....a wonderful ability to shape an image perfectly for the readers mind. I personally think she is a master of descriptive writing! I certainly hope she doesn't stop anytime soon! Good on ya Fingersmith!!! - Asgard Apr 27th, 2005 |
Excellent. What a story!!! The plot is believable and the characters are as sexy as hell! I think the ending was my favourite part. Well done Fingersmith!! Please write more! - Sophie Apr 26th, 2005 |
Editor's Note: Contains Spoilers Wonderful! A definite must-read! I loved Hearts and Flowers Border but this is so much darker and more intense, I think I may prefer it more. The characters are tantalisingly well-developed (for me, the dark and sultry Kate Thomas is a definite dead-ringer for LL in HOD - yum!). Though there is a supernatural element, it never detracts from the hot and steamy growing passion between Abbie and Kate, so if you're not one for ghost stories don't let it put you off! The ending I think is very well done - not what I was expecting! But I don't think it could have been done any other way. Excellent! Another brilliant story from this new gifted writer - you're not just a one-hit wonder!! From your number one fan xx - Julie Apr 25th, 2005 |
Living near where the events in Yorkshire occured added a great dimension to an already atmospheric supernatural tale. I loved the character of Kate, a wonderfully brooding uber X! Highly recommended second story from a great new writer. - sapphie Apr 25th, 2005 |
I am very much enjoying your story. It is nice to read a new Xena tale for a change. Thank you! - Nancy G. Apr 24th, 2005 |
This story is a cut above. The unique story line, the characters' backgrounds and interaction, the dialogue, and the overall tone stayed with me long after I read it. It's truly exceptional. - Della Apr 23rd, 2005 |
A feel good story, loved it, had me laughing real hard. Is there an encore in the works? - B Apr 23rd, 2005 |
Bravo, bravo, a work well done. Loved the suspense and passion between the two leading ladies. - B Apr 23rd, 2005 |

Great Story!! This work was very well written and kept me interested from start to finish. I absolutely loved it. Take the time and enjoy 'Split Second'. You'll love it just as I did. GSB - GSB Apr 22nd, 2005 |
What a story! I just finished reading it and am seriously contemplating ringing in sick to read it all over again. Striker and Morien are two of the best characterisations I have seen yet (and I eat a lot of uber!). This story is a gem and I hope there is more to come. Besides doing a fabulous job with the leads, Devize deserves a standing ovation for her carefully crafted minor characters. Danny had a part in my heart as much as anyone and its rare that you get a story that makes you care that much. and makes you scared... and makes you laugh... and makes you wanna hit certain people over the head for being infinitely stupid... This one really does have it all. Read it now. It's the real deal. - Vee Apr 22nd, 2005 |
Not bad...Not bad at all. Hits a nice spot!! Heehee - Willow Apr 22nd, 2005 |
Great story couldn't put it down. Hit the next part and there wasn't one .I did the OH NO. Hope to read the rest. Thank you - cross Apr 21st, 2005 |
A great whodunit and howtheydunit plot, it kept me hanging right till the end. Reads like a movie. And the two ladies are hot! Very well crafted. - E Apr 20th, 2005 |
I really enjoy this writer's stories. They are funny, and warm, and very entertaining. I especially enjoyed the characters in this one. I look forward to anymore strories this bard may grace us with in the future. - Anonymous Apr 20th, 2005 |
Quite posssibly my favorite PWP by Mavis. Why? Well for one I'm not much on going to bars but if I thought I'd meet someone like Drew I'd be camping out at them, and secondly it's HOT! Very Hot! so if you haven't read it..well what are you waiting for? Just don't forget the ice. - J.S. Connolly Apr 20th, 2005 |
I definately recommend this tale! And it definately deserves at least one more star than what it got!! Fantastic! - KTBard Apr 20th, 2005 |
"Dyki Tantsi" It seems they didn't disappoint me. These two very 'gifted' writers have lived up to their reputation once again. A story so heartfelt, compassionate, loving....well written. Left me for wanting more on these amazing woman. One willing to reach beyond looks.....patient to touch anothers 'Soul' Wow! Definitely worth reading. Thank you both for allowing us to partake in your zest for putting 'pen' to paper. - Christi Apr 19th, 2005 |
Fantastic story for anyone who wants to know what "the dark and the wild and the different" know. Captivating, sensual, thrilling, and oh so hot.... if you like leather, industrial music, and intelligent writing this one is an absolute must. Oh, and be prepared to stay up all night if you start reading the series! This is definitely one of the works in fanfiction I'd like to see published. - Anonymous Apr 18th, 2005 |
Wow...I mean...Wow! I hope they invent a time machine soon cause if thats the future Man oh Man do i wanna be there!! =o) - Willow Apr 18th, 2005 |
This has to be one of the best stories out there today! Not only is it tender and sweet, but it's not contrived. You find yourself falling for your first love all over again. A must read, esepcially for those of us that have ever had a crush on a beloved teacher. - Aprlskd Apr 17th, 2005 |
A lovely story! Could have done with a bigger disclaimer though...the story is out of the timeline as it is supposed to be set in season 2 but Xena is pregnant. Over all Well Done! - Willow Apr 17th, 2005 |
Scintillating, don't read at work. Can't wait to find out what happens next. - B Apr 16th, 2005 |
This is such a sweet story I really enjoyed it. I thought that the two charachters and children were a lovely family. - Talli Apr 16th, 2005 |
Definitely, one of the best stories I've read on here. Fingersmith's "Hearts and Flowers Border" is truely amazing. The style of writing is enjoyable and the overall story is wonderful. I eagerally await another story. - lena Apr 16th, 2005 |
Wonderful, amazing, excellent! Fingersmith, you're the best! I can't wait for the next story! - leth cross Apr 16th, 2005 |

Well written and an excellent read. The entire series has a sweet kind of innocence and is very addictive. - Emi Apr 15th, 2005 |
Wow! 'Stone'...rocks! Edge of my seat, couldn't stop reading and now i am devastated that it isn't finished. This is going to be one of the GREAT mystery/thrillers when it's all said and done. The sexual tension is off the charts. Please finish it!! - califa Apr 15th, 2005 |
The author truly captures the heart of us all with this story. What amazing depth and incredible writing. Thank you Ronica! - Anonymous Apr 15th, 2005 |
I can't say thanks enough for recommeding this story. Ana Ortiz, you are an amazing writer, and story-teller..and poet. The words certainly come to you, along with meaningful characters...I refer to everyone you threaded into your story. This story should have been written for profit and should be a made into an indie. The plot leads and spins the reader, never a dull word of sharing. I loved it all. - Anonymous Apr 15th, 2005 |
Beyond Brilliant! The most original story I've every read and my absolute favorite Uber of all time. A perfect combination of humor and romance. The narrative had me howling at Randi unique observations of life, love and revenge as during her journey with Mac she finds herself and then cheering her on as she musters up the courage to go after the girl of her dreams. There are few stories that you read and can honeslty say that there could be nothing done to make it better, but the Story of Me is in my opinion perfection. It's the kind of story I hope to write one day myself that is so memorable you never forget it, or the joy of experienceing it no matter how many times you read it. - J.S. Connolly Apr 15th, 2005 |
Editor's Note: Recommendation contains spoilers. The most poignant coming out story I've ever read. It's very easy to relate to Stephanie's struggle with coming to terms with her latent sexuality and to commiserate with Allison's fear of being on the end of yet another relationship that has the potential for destroying not only a friendship but stealing her self-respect as well. It's a funny, and very touching story of two women finding each other and the rocky road they follow on the way. Of all of Mavis's stories this is my favorite and one of the first Uber's I ever read. If you haven't indulged yourself yet you don't know what your missing. - J.S. Connolly Apr 15th, 2005 |
My compliments to the authors of this terrific story. Very imaginative plot, natural dialog, consistent characterizations... I could easily imagine this tale as an episode in Season Two. I hope Djwp's challenge to revive classic X&G fiction results in other works of such quality. And I hope that JLynn and Brigit M. Morgan will favor us with another tale. - LDP Apr 15th, 2005 |
Do not miss this story!!! It is one of the most gut wrenching...reaffirming love stories I've ever read!!! It gets better with every read... Highly...highly...recommend!!!!!! - loubug Apr 14th, 2005 |

Funny and real ... this is going to be fantastic (I can feel it in my waters). Polarbear has the eye for humour and real life. Can't wait for the next instalment. - fingersmith Apr 14th, 2005 |
Enjoyed it very much. Characters were quite credible and dealt with some important issues. Did I mention steamy? Go ahead and delve in, you won't have any regrets. - B Apr 13th, 2005 |

Very unexpected. - Draco Apr 11th, 2005 |
For a short story, I extremely enjoyed it. I normally prefer the novels, but this was exceptional. - twidgetX Apr 11th, 2005 |
I actually own this book but it is so worn out by me reading it so many times, I will find it on line and read it again. This is a must - must read for all of you true uber heads. You see by other comments that every one fell in love with the 'Devil', wellll I for one also did. Although I think Lauren is a hottie too. Don't miss this read folks!! It is defenitely one of my altime favorites. - Robin Hicks Apr 10th, 2005 |
This is really a great read folks. Greek Warrior has a way of not leeting you lose interst in this story. I can usally tell within 5 to 10 paragraphs if a book is going to hold my interst and I've got to say, once I started I couldn't stop until I was done. Hats off to you Greek Warrior!! A fabulous read. - Robin Hicks Apr 10th, 2005 |
I just happened to read this while it was raining and thundering outside. If I could be doing anything right now, I'd like to do exactly what S. Lee wrote in her letter. But... who wouldn't? ;) - MSAnderson Apr 10th, 2005 |
Impossible to stop reading, a story with extraordinary depth and passion. Compelling and poignant, a story not to be missed that never breaks its thread of action that draws you into a vortex of unforgettable characters and shattering events. - Kerry Apr 10th, 2005 |
This story is absolutely beautiful. The characters were believable and I couldn't help but become engrossed in the story. I loved it. I would reccommend this to anyone. But moreso to someone with a broken heart looking for a bit of hope. Or to someone who is love, but is afraid to say anything. No one would regret reading this story. I can't wait to read more from this very talented author. :) - MSAnderson Apr 9th, 2005 |

I just wanted to let folks know that this is a great story! If you are a fan of J.R.R. Tolkien (not the movies but the actual books!) you will really enjoy this story. It's like reading "The Simarillion" but from a one person POV. So join Helluin on her adventures through the ages of Middle Earth and enjoy!(Don't let all the Elvish language scare ya...go read it!) - elfcat255 Apr 5th, 2005 |
Loved it. Loved the insane characters. I especially loved the chicken dance lol. A Larisa story always makes me smile or laugh so hard i almost fall off my chair. Keep the stories coming Larisa. My only problem is when can we expect a new one? - Poeticvamp Apr 4th, 2005 |
A real roller coaster...I laughed (Fingersmith has a wicked sense of humour), and I cried (touching moments, well written) and I got horny!!!! (Fingersmith can write a mean sex scene!!!). All praise for this first time story, I look forward to many more. BTW if Fingersmith reads this I'd like to email her to congratulate and comment further, but it seems her email addy isn't working from the end of the story. - sapphie Apr 4th, 2005 Editor's Note: The e-mail addy is working now... |
Such a great story I´ve never, never read before. I enjoyed reading. And I can´t wait for the next one. I love the characters. You have to read it! I´m sure you like it!!!Great job!!! More of those stories!!! - Samantha Apr 4th, 2005 |
Truly wonderful and heartwarming tale. Excellent work from this bard. - Anonymous Apr 3rd, 2005 |
I think this is one of my favorite fan fiction stories that I have in my collection. I have re-read it a dozen times and it never loses its freshness. Veba is the most darling creation. I truly love her and I love to read about her. Thank you Ri for creating such a wonderful charachter. - Tonnie Apr 3rd, 2005 |
This story goes to a dead link. I think all of Lawrence's stories are lost. His site doesn't seem to exist anymore, either. If anyone knows where his stories are located, it would be great if you could let us all know as the synopsis to his plots seem rather interesting and I would like to read them. - Karon Reiter Apr 3rd, 2005 Editor's Note: The link to this story has been found. The links to Lawrence Nagy's other 2 stories are functional as well. |
What a wonderfully interesting story. Incredibly thought-provoking - and so sad. Without giving anything away, just let me say, this is one of the best classic Xena stories out there along with so many others that Ella has written. I recommend all of her work. She's quite amazing. I wish she was still writing. We can use more classic Xena stories. This place has been overrun with too many ubers - some of which you can't even recognize as Xena and Gabrielle. They should be in the original fiction section as they seem to have nothing to do with the dynamic of Xena and Gabrielle. If you want a wonderful ride in the world of the Xenaverse, read this. - Karon Reiter Apr 3rd, 2005 |
You can't go wrong with these two authors. An absolutely captivating story and an amazing cast of characters. The development and conflict of emotions are intensely and vividly portrayed. Somehow I couldn't help but feel a little melancholy towards the end... - aurelius Apr 2nd, 2005 |
Wow, what a beautiful story! I don't normally read short stories, but a friend recommended 'Last Dance', so I tried. It has touched me so much that I even decided to write a review. This is a very well written story, and very touching. For the few of us we are lucky enough to have found the love of our lives, 'Last Dance' will have a very special meaning. C.J. Harte definitely has a way with words! Do not miss it! BTW, when is the rest of series coming up?! - MichelleR. Apr 1st, 2005 |
