If you like conqueror stories, read this wonderful series. This one has everyone we know and love/hate including Alti, Callisto, Caesar, Amazons, Solon, Ares, Dite, Cyrene, Artemis and even the befuddled Joxer the Mighty (something). This series is a six story arc so give yourself time to enjoy. I had some issues with events toward the end, and didn't really understand the title of the first story until the end of the sixth, but maybe that was the point. If you see Xena as an incarnation of the Conqueror; almost two different people, then you'll enjoy her stuggle throughout the series. I hated that Lila called her "Gabby", petty I know. So far, When In Rome is absolutely, without a doubt the best post-FIN fic I have ever read. I think it's difficult to write a post-FIN story with much depth because writer's focus on the FIN section of the plot rather than the "post" section and they end up with a flat story.

There are some coming out stories or stories of self-discovery that are heartbreaking, this is one such story. The depth that Lucid Dream dives into the characters and the powerful light she shines on their story is remarkable. There is so much insight to be gleaned and even though it's true the story is not finished, there's enough trail to know where it's headed.
